Terrible service from most employees. I have waited patiently and been forgotten on many phone calls. I am told to wait while the employee gets someone from the department, but that can take well over 10 minutes. The express registers exist in vain. They are perhaps the slowest registers. It takes longer to checkout than it does to actually shop. They have allowed customers to spend valuable time shopping before arriving at the register to be told they are only accepting cash or checks, rather than putting up a sign so the customer can decide if they want to shop anymore. The water-bottle-return machine has been broken for months. It does not give you the ticket to prove you turned in a bottle for reuse. This means the customer must tell the cashier, and they have to search through a binder for the bar code. This usually takes five whole minutes when fixing the machine would allow this transaction to take 10 seconds.

Worst experience Ive had.. came around 11pm cashier over charged me and when I came back they informed me that the managers were having a meeting to give them 20 min. So I waited and finally spoke to one of the night shift managers she informed me to speak with one of the other managers (shes black with short hair) Im not racist I just didnt see her name tag. Anyway as I was explaining my situation to her she completely cut me off telling me there is nothing she can do about it to come back in the morning and speak with customer service; like its not her job to help me. Of course the cashier that rung me up told her I was in self check out which was a lie because she was the one that over charged me. Can anyone please help define customer service because I dont think they understand the term. Rude and ignorant that all I have to state about Walmart in Deland fl

I went in to purchase coated aspirin.Ended up also getting small container of margarine my total came to 5.76. I saw there was no one behind me at all,so I gave her a 5.00 and pulled out my change purse and handed her 76 cents of pennies nickle and a dime. She said very rudely that I could have taken the change to a machine over there before I got to her register.I said I am sorry give it back and I will put the margarine back, she grunted and gasped while counting out the pennies. I think I might look for her again with some more pennies in the future. No I am not vengeful but it would have been different if there was ANYONE else behind me,I am 72 years old and yes I do pick up pennies when I see one on the ground. Every penny counts and it is near the end of the month today. Yes I called and reported it to the manager, made me feel better anyway.

This is the only walmart I go to because I know it and have been coming here since they opened. But the register situation is annoying and has gotten out of control. I DO NOT want to check myself out. We have made it a rule to only go to walmart once a month now because it takes way to long to check out. We stood in line for 45 min one time on a Sunday when it was packed because there were only 4 registers open. I feel bad for the cashiers and dont blame them for being annoyed. And feel bad for the older people who work there because its too much work to check out all these people. I work in customer service and feel rushed when I have two people in line I can imagine how these poor people feel with up to 8 people in line with full carts. Please walmart have sympathy on your employees.

My wife and I went to the Deland, Florida store tonight and for the first time we were very disappointed at the service. We found a purse without any price and couldnt find another one like it. My wife went to an associate and was told to go to the clerk by the dressing room. We found her and she told us she found a number inside the purse and go to Customer Service. After waiting 10 minutes in line she found the price for us but couldnt give us a ticket and to go back to the 2nd clerk we talked to and tell her the price and she would make out a ticket for us. We did and she told us she couldnt give us a ticket either. SO we put the purse back and left.

Be prepared to waste a lot of time checking out. This Walmart has decided to do away with most of their cashiers. They replaced them with self checkout. They only keep maybe 3 or 4 live people on register. So you either have to deal with cashiers that are overwhelmed or deal with extremely slow self serve. Lets be honest. The only reason they put self serve is to not hire people. Its not faster since you usually have braindead people having trouble figuring out how to use it. Unfortunately if you want a decent Walmart, you have to go to another town. Orange City is pretty good. They still believe in having enough cashiers.

Honestly I work as a trainer in customer service and these people are awful, I know Wal-Mart isnt know for good customer service but again they could step it up, I came in to purchase two pillows, a simple process that should only take 5 minutes seeing that Im in there at midnight, I went to the last open self check out and was not told I could not use it but waved away like I was a child or animal I figured since I needed the pillows I would just forget about that and get in line, I waited 30 minutes and the line never moved, I put the pillows down and Im taking my business to target and publix from now on.

Cashiers chip reader wasnt working. She didnt ask us how we were paying so we didnt have any idea. We tried swiping our card and using the chip reader, but of course it didnt work. By this time she was already giving us a hard time. When she explained to her manager the situation she said that she asks everyone of her customer if they were paying with cash. Well she didnt do it to us. The only thing she asked us was if the items was ours. Moving on from that, the manager who assisted us with our payment was also giving us an attitude. By far this is the worst walmart experience I had.

Im a woman of service as I commit my life to serving people in healthcare. This Walmart is the worst by far Ive ever come by. Understaffed. I went to the tire oil service center, the man working there (wearing a veteran hat) came out to greet me, asked me what I was here for and as soon as I said hello and started to tell him my problem, he cut me off and said he was taken care of someone in front of me. Seriously? How rude and unprofessional. No management to manage these poorly trained employees.

Friendly staff but lazy staff. If you go to buy ammo or a gun expect to be waiting there for 30 minutes waiting for someone to assist you and when they do show up they act like its a bother to them. I went in to buy a dining room table and I was by myself and couldnt lift it onto the cart alone and couldnt get a single employee to help me. One lady said let me get someone and never came back after 20 minutes. I had to get a customer to help me after about 30 minutes of waiting around for someone.
