I am torn between giving this review a 4 or a 3. When my friend and I went in, we were going to make appointments and the guy we spoke to seemed nice enough, my friend and i both got our appointments made and were talking about the tattoos we wanted to get. My friend asked if white ink could be seen easily because her dad was agains the tattoos because of her religion (NOTE: her mom and brother both have tattoos and they do not frequently practice their religion) the guy at the front desk asked my friend (sami) what her religion was and she told him that she was Jewish, he told her that he was jewish too and asked what he could do to make her not get her tattoo. The guy at the front desk then told the story of the bible, and talked about why it was important to keep their tradition alive. I understand that religion is important to people, as are their beliefs so i had no problem with this until my friend starts crying. She decides not to get her tattoo because this guy reminded her of her father and made her feel guilty. The guy said he would give her a refund and did. Well i was pretty bummed because this was going to be something special we did together so i decided i didnt want my tattoo if she wasnt going to get hers, but the guy would not also give me a refund because i had no real reason to not want one. We then left and came back on the day of my appointment, there was a different guy at front desk, and after we talked a bit he gave me a pretty awesome t-shirt. Then i went in and got my tatttoo, the guy who did it, Justin, did an awesome job! he was friendly and really did a wonderful job on my tattoo, i love it!! I guess I give this tattoo parlor a 4 because my tattoo turned out great, but the first guy we talked to there was rude and he guilted my friend out of her tattoo.

I used to love this place, I got tats here since I was 16 with a parent consent of course, but after being a very good client for several years even bringing them several people to work on, Im 33 now so HALF A LIFETIME later of business I got a def punch in the throat!! I paid this shop over 1000$ almost 4-5 years ago now for a half sleeve tat that was going to take several sessions because it was a cover up of another tat I had got there as well. Long story short I still have a unfinished sleeve on my arm that they wont finish because the artist that gave me the price and started the work no longer works there somehow this became a fault of mine and was going to have to pay another one of there artist a second time to get my tat finished so here I still sit with an unfinished 1000+$ GENERATION X tattoo!!!! Which really gets under my skin because I have gone to this place since before they even did tats watched it evolve, and then to be just completely disregarded as a customer was insane to me, but to each there own way of running business!! I even used to be on a first name bases with the owner Jody!!! I am quite jaded about this and the reason I am doing this review now is because just recently they fixed an ex of mines tattoo that they had made the dolphins fins backwards at no charge yet whenever I go in there they try and talk about how much its going to cost me to finish it!! Well if Im gonna pay for the tattoo twice why the heck would I want to chance coming back to a place that left a unfinished tattoo on a 16+ year customer for so long now that Ill probably have to have the whole thing touched up again!! Buyer beware!! Dont leave with unfinished art is all I can say, Id you choose not to head this warning!!!

I would give 0 stars if I could, not for the artist but for the shop and the experience. We are tourists looking for a tattoo to commemorate the vacation, most of the highly rated shops were booked out and didnt have any walk in time. We called ahead to Generation X to ask if they had someone available and she said come on down we have time for you. We arrived and had to pay for our tattoo in advance, which was very overpriced but I assumed we got the tourist price. I wasnt mad because I knew it would be a little more expensive. We thought we were next but waited almost 2 hours to get our tattoo. While waiting one of the artists freaked out at one of the customers and the woman at the front desk. Cursing and dropping F bombs because he had to tattoo some tourists over some locals. Luckily he wasnt our artist, but the woman he was about to tattoo asked for a refund and was refused. So she stayed and was forced to get tattooed by someone who genuinely did not want to give her a tattoo. I felt bad for her but, I didnt want to have the same experience. We arrived at 2:30. Did not leave the shop till 7:00 pm. The whole experience was a complete joke, they make you pay in advance and refuse refunds to hold you hostage in the shop. Trevor was great, he gave us what we wanted and was a nice guy. Although the experience took us an entire day to get 2 small very overpriced tattoos. I wouldnt reccomed this shop to anyone, ever.

I went to Generation X to get a cover up tat on my shoulder. I wasnt sure what I wanted and I know that just drives them crazy. But they threw around a few ideas and I finally decided to get a Koi fish. I AM NOT DISAPPOINTED! I love it! I made a pain of myself making sure that the artist who was going to do my tat was experienced because I have not been so careful in the past and ended up with bad a bad tat.(Not Gen X) Live and learn. Anyway they had me go with Chino. He is a really down to earth guy. Sits and listens to what you want. Had some great ideas too! I felt really comfortable with him. Beautiful sharp lines. He knows his stuff! It is a half sleeve shoulder to just above elbow. It took 5 hrs for the outlines and black shading. I had talked over with him about colors so when I came back for the 2nd sitting he was all ready. Another 4 hours.....well worth the pain! I know that that might seem a long time for some people but I was glad that he did not rush to get it done because I wanted a tattoo that I would be PROUD of...and I am! The colors are amazing just perfect. Not cartoonie (is that a word?) looking. Its been a week now and its healed up just perfect. I have had so many positive comments on it. Great clean shop. Very professional staff. I would......will go back for another real soon. Ask for CHINO!!!

Last week my two friends and I went to generation X to get my rook pierced and my friend got her tragus pierced. I personally have 13 piercings included the painful industrial and I have never had such an issue getting anything pierced nor have i been in 35 minutes of pain! The piercer, Kayla, was easy to talk to and nice but when it came to doing her job she was all over the place. It took her 35 minutes to complete my rook piercing! Once the pain was done for me, it was my friends turn. Both of us have a tragus piercing and did not think it would be a big deal at all. Kayla tried to pierce her ear TWICE and was going to try a THIRD TIME before my friend asked for another employee to do the piercing. We both have a combined 20 piercings and have never been in this amount of pain or frustration. The employees were extremely rude after the incidents and did not apologize. When we asked to speak to the manager they said she had stepped out and would be right back but "coincidentally" never returned. I have NEVER written a review before but I do not want anyone to have the experience that we did. I would NEVER recommend Generation X to anyone looking to get anything pierced or to anyone looking for a friendly environment to shop or be tattooed in.
