I have been with Simon Eye Associates at the Pike Creek location for the last year now. I have gone there four times in the last 3 weeks to this exact location for contact lenses. During my first visit I went in for a routine eye exam and requested to have contacts. I did not get a contact lens consultation during that visit because they were understaffed and had to come in for a second visit. I came in for a second visit for a consultation and to my displeasure felt rushed by the doctor attending me and not answering my questions appropriately. I had several questions because this was my first time trying on contacts and wanted to know the risks, appropriate care, and symptoms associated. To make matters worse they did not have enough daily contact lenses for my trial and only had enough for 2 days. I was told I had to come in the following Wednesday to pick the rest of my trials because a shipment would come in that morning. I come that Wednesday morning (during work hours) only to find out that the shipment would arrive after lunch. The person attending me said that shipments come in on Wednesdays after lunch and I was not told that by the person who performed the contact lens consultation. I was very displeased and frustrated being told one thing and come to expect it wasnt true so I was offered a weekly lens that would suffice until my week trial was over. I come a third time and wasnt attended until a half hour later. I arrived at the office at 3:10pm for a 3:15pm appt and was attended at 3:45pm. The same doctor who performed the contact lens consultation didnt even acknowledge that she was late and didnt bother to apologize for her tardiness. After my approval to order daily contact lenses I gave the portfolio with the detailed prescription to the assistant. She seemed to be confused and took a while to process a simple request I waited approximately 20 minutes for my contact lenses to be ordered. At this point I was so frustrated, and discontent with this firms incompetent staff that I simply just wanted my order processed and leave the site as soon as possible. The woman processing my order didnt even give me my itemized receipt for the 9 month supply of contact lenses and simply told me to just pay at the front desk. She didnt even tell me I was finished I had to ask if there was anything else that needed to be done because I didnt get any forms for proper care, an itemized list for the cost the lens, when to pick up my contact lenses, etc. I go up to the front desk and ask to ship my contact lenses to my home (after paying for my contact lenses) because I live 40 min away from the site and they said they would charge an additional $9.99 and that it was only free had I ordered a years supply (I wasnt told this information at no point prior when the woman was ordering my contact lenses). At that point I had a enough and was forced to pay to have my contact lenses ship to my home. I had to call the next day to ask for an itemized receipt and to the confusion of the receptionist stated that I should have been given one when the order was processed. I asked if they could email the receipt to the email address I had provided and they said they couldnt because their system didnt have the functionality to do it. They could have used the snip tool or screen shot the receipt and emailed it to me. They asked me to verify my address and I informed them that the address was incorrect. I asked to have them check and update the address for the shipping provider and they said they would contact the contact lenses department and they would call me back if the address was indeed incorrect. I didnt get a definite answer and they didnt admit that the address was being shipped to the wrong location. Overall, I am very unsatisfied with this firms staff, and how they operate their business. I will not recommend Simon Eye Associates to anyone else.

Ive never worn glasses. Have vision care through my employer, simon eye happened to be the closest. Never heard of them, but whatever. Called on a Tuesday and setup an appointment on Thursday. Great, I thought, quick service.. On Wednesday, the next day, I get an automated freakin message asking me to return a call to THEM to CONFIRM (not cancel) that I would be there. I call and ask them why I need to confirm and what happens if I dont...they say nothing, they dont cancel the appointment...so I ask them what the point of the call was...they say its just a courtesy call...I laugh and say, from an automated dialer??? Really courteous.Should have cancelled there, but didnt. Id never seen a Simon eye before, so I googled it before I went. The number that called me was listed as being on Limestone Rd, when I thought my appointment was on Concord Pk. This (an automated message) caused me to go to the wrong place. Turns out that thats there call center. After all this, Im able to get in and see a doc. I get fitted for glasses and all that and a week later I get a call that theyre ready. An hour after that, I get a call saying, nevermind, they realized the lenses werent transitions, as they should have been (which I paid for). Maybe it was just a bad experience for me. Docs seemed nice...there process seems flawed. I wont go back because of it.

I am new to the area and needed a place to get new glasses that accepted my insurance. Dr. Payne was courteous and friendly as I had my eye exam done. Everything was fantastic for me.. However, my girlfriend as looking around at frames while I was getting my eye exam done, and she made a comment about the price of some designer frames. An associate made a condescending remark, saying that "Not everybody can afford luxury," pointing toward the cheaper ones. While the clientele at this office may be affluent, my girlfriend and I are college students, and customers should never be talked down to in such a manner. Aside from this, the office is amazing, and I intend to be a life-long customer.

I went in for a eye exam was told I may have glaucoma and further testing needs to be done. I got in a few weeks later. Was told we still dont know come back to do testing in 6 months. When I was there on June 2 had to take a visual fied test. At first the women had a hard time getting it right because she had the machine over the eye she was testting. She was like its just to early for this. Mind you its 9:45 am. Then I my eye keep moving during the test she was rude keep yelling at me. I told her I am doing the best I can. She said then you mind as well just leave. Which I did and canceled all future appointments.

Cant say enough good things about this office. I needed new glasses on an emergency basis, and they worked me in on an obviously busy day. I was helped at my exact appointment time- no waiting. Dr Payne was efficient, professional and thorough. When you get to the optician, Judy and Heather were wonderful- friendly, VERY helpful and personable. They even came up with a terrific solution to my broken glasses for the interim until the new order comes in. I understand why theyve been voted Best in Delaware.
