This is one of those times where I chose a store specifically because I thought they would have more direct knowledge of their games, and, frankly, more of a selection than some of the larger chain stores. I was willing to pay more for that and now regret that i didnt just go to Toys R Us. But I was let down on both fronts. Their selection of games was limited (but good if youre looking for strategy games, not group games), and their recommendation on the type of game I should by (based on VERY direct description of the event, and type of people there), was completely off the mark. The game was infantile, and cheap. The price was close to $30 and it only came with a few decks of cards (with repetitive questions), a gameboard that was only slightly thicker than a piece of paper, and no timer!! No pencils or writing tools either. We tried to play for about a 1/2 hour and quickly realized that the game was a complete rip off. I went back to return it and was met with very poor customer service. I understand that they didnt want to take it back, I really do, but their attitude towards me and my game was hostile. I will never go back and would recommend that you save your money and go to Toys R Us or somewhere that has more to choose from and better customer service.

My two young boys and I went here on Black Friday and the woman tending the shop was very welcoming and really good with our kids. Even though she had us at hello, it was also nice that the selection of toys and gear is well curated and the shelves are filled with lots of unique toys we dont find at the other stores in the area. While they could probably use an extra hand around the store when it gets busy I am sure it is not easy to make that work as a small business. We ventured in to support a local toy store and felt rewarded for doing so owing to the friendly staff and delightful toy selection with a STEM bent. There are other options if you want maximum selection but if you want a bespoke small town toy shop this is the place.

This toy store is run by two older women who have no patience for the behavior of their primary customers... little children. Over the last few years, time and time again, my children have been rebuked and scolded for handling the toys which is exactly what children should do in a toy store. I finally confonted one of the older women, who told me to "leave and dont come back". Do yourself and your family a favor and avoid these horrible old women, and go to Blinns in Fairfield, or any other toy store for that matter, where the same toys can be purchased in a much more child friendly atmosphere. The proprietors should retire to an old-folks home, or some such place where they wont be bothered by children.

August 20, 2011 I have shopped at this toy store several times since I moved in the area because my new friends told me it was the place to go. Ive been to other stores in the area but I like this one the best. The staff is friendly and very knowledgeable about their products. My kids love to go to the store and play with their marble run. They have toys that I dont see anywhere else. Today, I picked up party favors for one of my kids at the last minute and they wrapped each favor for me while I waited. It was very busy at the store but they still took the time to wrap all my party favors.

This store has been around for over 30 years. It has a very good and creative selection of scientific oriented (and general) toys for children (of all ages). The staff knows its stock and has always been courteous and helpful. It really is a special place that survives despite the internet and Toys R Us. I have periodically come in over decades, first for my children and now my grandchildren. AJE
