This is a hard review for me to write because there is such a back story with it and I apologize now if its a bit long. About a year ago, I decided that I wanted to get a half sleeve but I was extremely hesitant on the idea because I had some issues with other tattoo shops. (Crooked tattoos, lines not connected, overall bad quality, fading, etc.) I knew I wanted to go to a reputable shop that had consistent rate of high quality tattoos. A friend of mine recommended this shop to me and I had researched it for about 6 months+ before I made my inquiry. After the inquiry, within 24 hours (if not sooner), I head from Joe Swider. Currently, we are still working on the tattoo but the quality of the work he has done has been amazing! He is very detail oriented and if he doesnt like something at the end he will not let you walk out with it. Hes literally had me sit back down in the chair before the end of one session to fix something that he didnt like. With the amount of time I have spent in the shop (6 sessions and counting/ 3+ hours at least every session) I have seen a lot of tattoos and every one that I have seen has been outstanding. Each artist has a different style but each executes it fully to his liking. Everyone is extremely friendly, polite and they will go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable. If you are looking to get an amazing tattoo then I would recommend it to you like I have to others- you will not be disappointed!

I love this tattoo parlour. Although all the artists are incredibly talented, I use Joe Swider. Hes been amazing at the cover up hes been working on on me. Its my underbust, and although it hurts as ribs will, Joe is doing an amazing job making the process as painless as possible. He personally has his station set up away from the other artists, but happily put on a show for both of us while he worked. Not to mention, due to the size of what will be needed for the cover up, I gave Joe a lot of artistic freedom. Unlike many, he handled my loose direction superbly, yet is managing to create a piece that is amazing and fits me. Plus!! The care taken to center this piece was amazing!! Ive never had an artist so diligently space and measure in order to get their art perfect. On top of that, these people are very honest. I not only trust Joe to permanently ink my skin, but Im also confident I could ask him for artist suggestions and hed answer me with the artist who stylistically/design wise would be passionate about the piece Im describing. Though for now Ill likely stick with Joe for most of my work as his style is perfect for me

I had tattoos done in my years fresh out of technical school. When I moved to Hawaii I had a couple more added. When I moved back to CT my BFF gave me a gift certificate for a new tattoo place. The owner was just becoming established in a storefront so I didnt know what to expect. What I found on my visits was a business that had friendly attentive staff and the tattoo and piercing areas as clean as a hospital. The owner and his wife were using top of the line equipment and inks. I was sold on the place very quickly as the owner was willing to take my strange ideas and making them happen beyond my expectation. I had gone to a convention for tattoo and piercing and ended up with three first place awards. Who would have thought that? I highly recommend Skin Deep Ink to anyone for their tattoo or piercing, whether its the first one or the tenth. So far as my business with Skin Deep Ink, I now have eighteen tattoos from them and I dont think Im done yet.

I have already had three tattoos from Mark. The entire atmosphere much different then your typical tattoo shop. Everyone there is friendly, and you get a real comfort level. One tattoo was just an idea I gave to Mark and he ran with it and I got an original piece of art that met my expectations perfectly. I have been to other tattoo shops, and have always found the arrogance of the artists as a turn off. You will not find that at Skin Deep. There have been many occasions where I just go and watch them work. I have always felt welcome. I have suggested the place to many people and also had my son get his first tattoo. I wanted him to have the tattoo done correctly, as opposed to him just walking into some random shop and walking out with something he hated. The whole experience worked out great. You highly suggest if you are interested in your first tattoo or want to add more this is the place you should be going to.

Skin Deep is by far the best tattoo shop around. i have - unfortunately - gotten many tattoos at several shops in the area. most of which are being covered now by new tattoos by Skin Deep. Skin Deep in NM is not in any way affiliated with the Skin Deep that was open in Danbury many years ago. i - again unfortunately - was tattooed by that shop before they closed there doors so i know. Mark and Jeff are two of the best artists i have ever come across. there work does not compare to anything i have ever seen. i get stopped by strangers who comment on my tattoos and ask where i go. some people actually have gone to skin deep after seeing my work and just like me are very pleased with the results! i highly recommend skin deep to anyone who wants a GREAT tattoo. and if you are looking to get pierced they are the place to go as well! Tina is wonderful.

I have had a few tattoos done by Mark @ Skin Deep and would never go anywhere else! Mark has an amazing attention to detail, gives his all to anything he pursues and his whole personality drips in a most unique sarcasm; making him hilarious! :) Even though I have not had the pleasure of having a tattoo done by the rest of the staff, I also love Jeff, Kang, Joe and Tom - all of whom Ive chatted with in the shop and have seen their work. I would highly recommend availing yourself to anyone from this shop for an awesome creation of body-art. ~ And for those looking to get a piercing, you will not find a more down-to-earth, affable woman than Tina; making her a pleasure to work with!

I have had tattoos done by both Mark and Jeff. I had Mark do a custom peacock feather on my inner right ankle that is writing my grandfathers name. Not only did he draw EXACTLY what I had pictured, but he sat with me for about 3 hours on New Years eve in the snow and finished it and he was such a pleasure to work with! Such wonderful staff, everyone is so inviting and the shop has a very clean upscale feel when you walk in the door. Jeff did a min #13 on my left ankle on Friday the 13th, for a their 1st $13 promotion in 2009. He did such a great job! I would send ANYONE to their shop with a glowing review and id go back to them for any tattoo I could dream up! A+++
