It was my time in life to do the deed -- buy an engagement ring. After all these years of local radio ad bombardments, I gave Tom Shane a look. I went to the Westminster store and was highly disappointed... First salesman to greet was a guy...he was quick to pass me off to the good looking girl who was "more of an expert" in engagement rings. No problem with a female upgrade, but that began to make me feel like "the mark". They did a good job showing the subtle differences in (diamond) colors and clarity...and how those really arent too important as other sotres would make you think. It was a nice perspective...but it took forever to be explained. She would bring out 2-3 diamonds at a time to display the difference in Clarity....then would disappear 15 mins behind a one-way fogged glass wall. Felt really awkward sitting there. Then she came out and explained color, great...but then disappeared for another 15mins, behind the glass!! WTF? Was she busy digging the vault? Was she staring at me with a manager at her side? I dont know. But this disappearing happened 4 times no joke. Here I was, getting iced, and feeling annoyed...I decided to say goodbye. This salesman was not having it...she kept saying "Im not paid on commission, but lets get this on lay-away tonight." "Im not paid commissions but this diamond wont be here longer." Etc Etc She said that like 3 different ways. I dont how she gets paid, but clearly closing meant business to her. And while they are good to talk about certain areas, they didnt really let me pick based on Cut or Fluorescents etc. Bottom line: 1CT, G Color, SI1, Ideal Cut Shane Co. - $6800 (and the cut and polish were only "good", but it was a nice diamond) Jared - $6200 (absolutely beautiful diamond, D Color, VS2 Clarity, "Leo Series" signature cut) James Allen - $6800 Blue Nile - $6150 - (Ideal Cut) I went with Blue Nile, found a diamond with a really nice S12 GIA report (to me anyway), avoided the Westminster 8.2% sales Tax!!! Plus the platinum band was about $300 less than Shane and far nicer! And holy cow is it nice! Maybe I lucked out...

I swear by the Shane Co. When it was time for me to look for an engagement ring I began by getting ideas of whats out there online; mostly hacking Pinterest accounts. Once I had a general idea of the style I wanted I went over to their website and browsed their selection before going in store. I actually didnt need to do any of this background research though because the associates at the Shane Co. were there to educate me on everything I needed to know and were knowledgeable in answering all the questions I had. At no point did I feel pressured to buy anything and I was never rushed while I slowly made my way through this locations beautiful selection. I have to give a special shoutout to Sneh who is the one that helped me from the beginning. She has been working for the Shane Co. for almost as long as Ive been alive, starting her journey at one of the California locations and then making her way to the Haynes Bridge store - shes a seasoned veteran. I would not have felt confident in my decisions without her. Now I find myself rattling off tidbits of information that Sneh taught me about diamonds and rings to my friends that are looking to take the plunge. An added bonus that always garners extra points in my book is the complimentary cookies! That and the fact that my fiancée was thoroughly pleased with the selection. Overall, a 10/10 experience that I hopefully dont have to go through again, but should it be necessary I know exactly where I will go and who I will ask for help!

Ive been to Shane Co. twice in the past two years; initially, I went to replace a wedding band my husband had purchased from Kay that I had a terrible allergic reaction to after only 3 months of wear. Shane Co. had a wedding band very similar to the one I had chosen from Kay but more comfortable and aesthetically pleasing. Two years later, I have not had to get it re-coated and have not had any kind of allergic reaction. It has stayed much, much whiter than my husbands white gold wedding band which was purchased at Kay. Also, although it typically takes a week to size a chosen ring, Shane Co. was willing to overnight the process before I went out of town on vacation. On my second visit, in October, I went to Shane Co. to pick out a setting for a diamond I had inherited from a family member. The sales representative was very helpful in assessing the quality of the diamond and answering all of my questions, and waited patiently for two hours while I tried to make a decision about the setting! When I went to pick up the ring a week later, it was even more stunning than I could have imagined. Again, the service was friendly and fast. One more positive aspect of this company is that Shane Co. does not charge you an extra fee for ring maintenance; they will do repairs, re-dipping and polishing for free for a lifetime as long as the jewelry was purchased from them. I couldnt be happier and I imagine that my husband and I will visit Shane Co. for all of our future jewelry needs.

I chose Shane Co. to buy an engagement ring. All of the staff was very helpful and made me feel very welcome. I went in multiple times in the process. The first time I went in they helped me get some ideas of styles that I liked. Very helpful and taught me a lot about rings. The second time I went in I was helped to find the ring that I wanted to get. Good quality for a good price as well. I started a payment plan which helped a lot. The third time I came in I was able to pay off the ring in full and had it sized. I came to pick it up a few days later when it was ready. I took a picture of it and sent it to my best friend. Right away he texted me and told me it was the exact same ring that he had just bought his fiancée. So odd considering Shane Co. prides themselves on being unique and not creating a lot of the same type of ring. This was a Wednesday and I was going to propose on Friday, so I rushed back in and told them what happened and they helped me select a new ring. Even stayed after closing to help me. We found a new one, one I loved even more and they were able to get it sized and ready for me to pick up on Thursday. I went and picked it up and it was a success. Im so thankful to Shane Co. for helping me out so much. Not to mention all the extras that are included when you buy a ring from here. I will definitely be coming here for all my jewelry shopping and will recommend it to all my friends.

I went to Shane Co. a couple of years ago as I had heard many great things about them. When a diamond fell out of my wedding ring, I brought it here to have it fixed. They called to say that it was ready a few days later. When I came to pick it up, the entire structure of the ring had been bent and the detailing looked as though it had been hammered in. I refused it and asked them to fix it. They proceeded to tell me that that is what happens when you replace a diamond in a ring but agreed to fix it. They then, without my knowledge or consent called the jeweler that I had purchased the ring from to determine (i guess) how to fix it. This voided my warranty as they informed them that my ring had been damaged. They then called to say that they would make the entire shaft again. At this point I was annoyed about the warranty but I guess I should have just taken it there in the first place so fine, Ill own that one. They kept my ring for a week and returned it to me looking great. Recently, I took my ring to another Shane Co. to have it re-rhodiumed. They had to un-solder my set. Come to find out that they never actually FIXED my ring, they just turned it around, and soldered it back together so that I wouldnt notice. Wouldnt go here EVER again.
