Im giving ACE 2 stars because most of the employees there are indeed polite and helpful. This weekend however, I went to the lumber yard for some redwood to finish my deck. I was informed by the attendant that they could only sell redwood through the contractor desk for reasons unknown. The contractor desk is apparently not open on the weekends. The attendant then asked over the radio if someone could help me regardless. After a couple of minutes of silence, I was finally told to "GO AWAY" over the radio. Some conversation ensued and was eventually told to "Come back Monday". No apologies, no reasoning. Just a good old fashioned Go Away. I might be back if Im in immediate need of something. But the apparently do not need my business

We went camping and forgot our propane hose connection for our camping stove. We searched for three hours in the area to find the right sized hose and were unsuccessful. The staff at Moore were very helpful and sympathetic. They suggested places we could try to find the right sized connection. Ultimately, we had to buy a stove and the Moore clerk gave us a discount on the stove because of our troubles! We were very thankful for their kindness.

I had a pipe burst in my house and the folks at Ace helped me puzzle through a non-standard connection with a non-standard solution. I was glad for the help, and doubly-glad to be left alone when I declined help (something that doesnt always happen with hardware stores up here). Their prices are good and the selection is great!

Right around the corner. Staff very helpful. Lumber is much higher quality than you get at big box stores. You dont have to shift through stacks of boards to find a few straight boards.
