I just had another round of service done on my Truck/RV at Stevinson and I thought Id finally write a review of them. First off, I did not buy my truck from them; I actually found a used truck on the other side of the country and a couple of their fleet sales guys (Brad who is gone now, and Hank who I think is still there) provided me a LOT of help looking up VIN#s and helping me figure out details of the trucks I was looking at buying. It is a Kodiak/C4500 which are much rarer than the pickups so I needed the help. Anyway, they spent a lot of time with me even though they knew full well I was not going to be buying anything from them. I figured the least I could do was to give them a try for my service needs after I bought the truck. Right after I got it, I had a front axle problem (that was fixed on warranty) and I got to know my service advisor Chuck Sparks pretty well. I also found that there is one mechanic who primarily works on the bigger/commercial trucks and motorhomes (Troy) so I am lucky in that I always get the same service advisor and the same mechanic. In short, they have been awesome. They have done a few fixes that were under warranty, and a lot that were not. But I have not yet had a single issue or problem where I was not fully satisfied with how it was taken care of. Ive been able to meet the mechanic a number of times and discuss what was being worked on, as well as discuss a variety of off the wall ideas I have had about non-standard upgrades and that sort of thing, and they are surprisingly willing to do custom work and aftermarket upgrades if they are appropriate and if not, will give me advice and a recommendation of who might be able to do them. For the particular work I just had done, we were waiting on back order for an exhaust manifold for the Duramax engine which had to come from Japan. They had discovered the issue when working on my turbo, and they actually replaced the gasket as a temporary fix to get me back on the road, and then we waited. During that waiting period, Chuck kept me well-informed of what he knew. I did not have to keep calling him to check. In general, I am always leary about dealerships especially with having a service advisor in between you and the guy doing the service. Advisors I have seen at other dealerships often times seems like a kid without any experience as a mechanic and you never get a chance to talk with the actual mechanic.....so I have mostly gone to small independant places in the past. But this is NOT the case with Stevinson (Chuck anyway)....he is exceptionally knowledgable about the actual work being done since he is a former mechanic, and anytime he hasnt been 100% sure of what the mechanic relayed to him, weve both gone and talked with Troy to get the precise details. In short, I have had limited dealings with the sales team, and they were exceptionally helpful even though they knew I wasnt going to buy anything through them. I cant say enough about how happy I have been with Chuck and Troy in the service department. I have considered using another GMC dealer for my truck that focuses more on Medium and Heavy Duty trucks, but I just cant see going anywhere else considering how happy I have been with these guys. Thanks guys, from a very happy customer.

I dont think they even deserve one star. My experience with Stevinson has been terrible from the start and continue to get worse. We bought a 2010 Chevy Traverse with 52,000 miles 13 months ago from Stevinson and have had nothing but problems ever since both with the vehicle and dealing with Stevinson. Beginning with a sales person who was clueless about the vehicle he sold us. Telling us the vehicle came with OnStar and SiriusXM radio. After shopping for vehicles all day I did not actually check that these options were physically installed in the vehicle. After bringing the car home and discovering that neither of these options were in fact installed I called and talked with the salesman who sold us the car and he told me that he was sorry that he thought all Chevys came with that but could not do anything about it. These options were not really important to me so I let it go, happy to have a new vehicle. Shortly after getting the vehicle It began to have problems and they have not stopped. I have had to have the Traverse back to Stevinson 8 times in 1 year for major work. 6 times Stevinson has had to have my vehicle with 55,000 miles on it overnight. Bring it in to fix one thing and they break something else that I have to bring it back to have fixed again. For instance. Troubles with the steering assembly had to be fixed. They fixed it. Next the power steering pump goes out. Fix it. Now the car s transmission or something in the drive train is making noise. Bring it in and what do you know, they never fully tightened the engine motor mounts when doing previous work causing the clunking sound. Sure that was great for my vehicle. You would think that a dealership would try in anyway to make the situation better but the customers service is non existent. Every time I have been in for a problem I have been treated rude and it is always a fight to get the work done under the warranty. For instance, when I brought my vehicle back for the clunking sound they told me that I would need to pay for it because it could have been caused by me driving it. I could go on and on with examples of how they have screwed up and not cared about. I have complained with no response. In fact my vehicle is at the shop now having a new throttle body installed after it crapped out on the way home from our Christmas vacation. Called the service guy at 1pm because of course they cant call you. Told me it would be done in an hour and he would call me when it was done. that was three hours ago. This morning when I dropped of my vehicle I asked to speak with Scott the general manager. The reception told me he was a doctors appointment and handed me a piece of paper to leave they guy a note "how professional" Scott has yet to call me and I bet he never does. I would never buy another vehicle from Stevinson or recommend them to anyone. I would pay a higher price than to deal with a dealership that sells lemons and then will not stand behind them. Wanted to express my disappointment in how I was treated today as it was not what was advertised as "fast, friendly and fair". I believe that I wasnt treated fairly. Worked with Lee Burbank to buy 03 Excursion that they just posted online and didnt even have photos yet. Decided to go ahead with purchase and filled out loan appln. I thought everything was going to be good. I put in my request that I wanted right of refusal for purchase and loan to proceed if when the truck came back from being repaired and being photographed, that if I didnt like what I saw, then I could decline to proceed but if I did, I would. I believed that this request was reasonable and fair since I was moving forward to buy something sight unseen. Now I was told by their finance mgr and by Lee himself after he spoke to their general manager, that I had to commit to purchase now without seeing any photos of the truck at all or they would treat it as it is still available for sale, even though they had my loan appln. The only reason I put the request in there for my loan and purchase is that they didnt have any photos of the truck and so I didnt know at this time whether the truck was OK or what it even looked like. I tried to reason with them but was unsuccessful and so had to remove my offer to purchase and ask them to stop the loan appln. I felt that they were not being their advertised "fair" and were putting $$$ ahead of doing what was reasonable and right. The vehicle is a high demand Excursion with the 7.3L PSD and they would have no trouble selling it and so I guess that contributed to them not willing to be fair. Very disappointed in how I was treated when I felt that I was fair and dealt in good faith with them. 10/9/2015. UPDATE. Saw general manager Scotts response on 10/8/2015 and so decided to contact him to see what he was proposing to do for me. I get a reply from him this morning saying they sold truck to someone else off the street the evening of 10/8/2015. So it turns out Scott and Stevinson was not planning to do anything to be fair to me and merely put in their reply to my complaint to try to save face. I stand behind my assertion that Stevinson isnt fair as advertised and puts $$$ ahead of being fair with people like myself who dealt in good faith with them. THey should be ashamed of themselves!!!!
