I have never needed to use a pawn shop before, and I always thought of the practice as a bit sketchy, along with the people who run them. I needed some extra money last month, and very reluctantly began calling and visiting pawn shops in the Lakewood area. I visited a few shops, including Cash and Pawn...turns out that they say one thing on the phone and another thing once you are there in person. They offered me a measly $350 loan for a shotgun recently purchased for $1200...and it is still brand new in the box. On top of that, it wasnt explained on the phone that the interest rate depended on the value of the item...and they had told me to expect about $600-$700. This experience confirmed to me that these guys are not people I would want to do any kind of business with. On the other hand, I stopped into Mountain Pawn and was very pleasantly surprised. They had a no BS approach, a simple procedure, and a reasonable interest rate. I found Phil to be both friendly and professional, completely unlike I expected based on my other experiences. I secured my loan for the amount he initially offered me, which I felt was fair. I recently paid my pawn loans off and experienced no hassles or problems. I hope that I dont ever need to pawn anything again...but if I do, I know exactly where I will go. I very much recommend Mountain Pawn, especially to those who have been in my situation. I am not one to write reviews, but I have to here. I unfortunately got in a spot where I had to use pawn services over a couple of months. No one likes to pawn items Im sure, but sometimes life makes choices for us. These people were extremely helpful and treated me with respect, which is way more than I can say for the bigger chain shops I went to initially thinking that I would get a better deal. They sent me a postcard and gave me a call when my very expensive guitar was in jeopardy of expiring, and they worked with me for redemption. They went way beyond, and I mean WAY beyond what the big chains had done. I genuinely believe that they didnt want my item as much as they wanted to help me in getting it out of pawn and working with me to pay the loan off. I cannot emphasize enough that if you need the services of a pawn shop, then do yourself a huge favor and use Mountain Pawn. Plus, if you want to buy something (and yes I went back when my situation had improved) they are fair and arent trying to retire off each sale. The other pawn shops I had visited were ruthless and cutthroat compared to here.

This place is far better than Cash in A Flash thats a few blocks west of here. These guys are great, helpful, dont treat you and your stuff like its junk, give fair prices and you feel welcome and like they want to do whatever they can for you. ABSOLUTELY STAY AWAY FROM CASH IN A FLASH DOWN THE STREET! They are so disrespectful, make you feel unwelcome and say all your stuff is junk (like a 6 month old galaxy tab with case, charger, stylus, 64gb high speed card that they gave me $15 for and said he found them online for $50 but "couldnt show me their screen" then I saw it on the shelf the next week for $220, so I get $15 and they get $205? Theives) With this place, mountain pawn, so close and so much better I have no idea how cash in a flash stays open (besides obviously ripping customers off so bad but eventually people will quit going after being treated so bad such as myself) So stay away from cash in a flash unless you want a good laugh or want to see how not to run a business, but go to mountain pawn, this place is the best pawn shop Ive been to.

This pawn shop is great. I purchased a firearm from them took it home it had a lot of unseen issues. I got inn touch with them and they took care of me and were concerned about making me happy as a customer and making sure I had a great positive experience. I took the gun back and they traded me up to a better shotgun. I feel confident spending my money with them and I will recommend them to everyone I know in the future. Thank you guys for the 5 star treatment.

Had a few items I was interested in, there were no prices on them. When I asked, prices quoted were more than theyd cost new!!!! I just went to a real store, purchased them brand new and saved a few bucks. To run their shop like this makes as much sense (cents) as a broken change machine.
