These guys are really bad. They were supposed to replace a baguette on my grandmas 70-year old engagement ring, which is now my wifes engagement ring. Because the baguettes were unusual, they said, they would have to send it to NYC to have the diamond custom-cut, which was not cheap. But I understand, so I had them do it. I also had them tighten up the prongs for the other baguettes. When the ring came back, my wife picked it up without looking at it. When I got home we both realized that the baguette was the wrong size, and the ring was no longer symmetrical. When I called them about it, they said that this was the closest fit they could find and then denied having any conversation about having the diamond custom-cut. So they said if I didnt like it, they would take the baguette back from me at no charge, if thats what I wanted to do. Yes, I did. But before I could get back there, just 4 days later, one of the prongs of the other baguettes broke off and we yet lost another baguette. These are the prongs that I had just paid a couple hundred bucks to have tightened. When I called them about this, they had the gall to say that it was just a coincidence and that it was not their fault. Keep in mind this happened after only 4 days of wearing it. So, we went back to give them their baguette back. They gave me about two-thirds of my money back, but I wanted all of it back considering that I was now down another baguette diamond which fell out from the broken prong. This is VERY poor customer service, especially from a jeweller. There seems to be two guys: John handles the business element, and Rick is the jeweller. Anytime I asked one of them a question about anything, the response was always "well, Ill have to talk to John" or "Ill have to check with Rick," depending on who I was talking to. In fact, I couldnt get any clear answers from them until I showed up in person and could get them both together. Please do not give these guys your business. We went to Trice instead, and although theyre pretty far south of downtown Denver, the customer service is so much better.

Well, I have taken my time to go through the reviews on this site as well as others and I must first respond to the "wear a suit" guy. i am sorry that you had that experience there but I can tell you that it is more likely your interpretations of johns personality than it is the truth. I will agree, if you arent used to dealing with "jewlers" you may have some odd feelings. John is a straight up serious guy who is all about his trade. This may come off a as aloof or even condesending at times but it is more because he is SO focused on the task at hand that other things may slip. that being said, after my 2-3rd time in, his brilliant dry sense of humor showed through and you can see how much passion he has for his trade. As for the dress. i was in there in a hat, ripped cargo shorts, and a Tool t-shirt. he never made mention of my clothes or demeanor... he was too bust looking for what i was asking for. Now for my experience beyond personal interaction. I was pretty damned impressed. I have been all over the world. I have bought jewelry from Harry Winston to the cutter tables in Israel. john has a unique way of biz but when he says he will find something... he does! Period. I came in and drew the ring freehand and talked with him for about 1 hour on how/what I wanted it to look that way. John tracked down a gorgeous blue diamond * i dare ya to find a jeweler in the us that can find a good blue diamond* I have been looking for a stone for 8+ months and john found the 1. Next, john had a wax mold in perfect form in about 2 weeks. After dealing with my anal ways and mods requested the ring came out gorgeous. Absolutely amazing. Executed perfect from my drawing. Dont believe me. Look on their page . the blue diamond set in platinum is my fiancees ring! Great work John and company.. .keep it up. Ps. Johns wife is super sweet as well. they make a great team.

Being in the market, currently, for an engagement ring I asked my significant other to take a look around at a few places for something she might like, also to get her finger sized. Now despite working with a budget thats more than adequate for a fine ring or other jewelry from such a location, we dont feel the need to dress in our finest while perusing through such stores; we thought it would be OK to enter such an exemplary establishment with mere casual clothes, expecting the store associate to treat us as any other person should be treated. Unfortunately, the very trim and proper man attending us during our visit did not feel the same way. This strange man seemed to take offense at the very notion of anyone entering his store in any less than matching Hermes bag and shoes, or at least something that could feign such luxury. And by this, I mean that he was exceptionally rude. With a deep sigh and dragging feet would he pull a ring out to better inspect. Each question from us was met with an unenthusiastic and bitterly patronizing answer, completely devoid of any helpful information. When she (my future spouse) asked to have her finger sized, he reacted as if she had actually dug up his deceased mother, spat on her body, and then refilled the hole not with dirt, but dog feces. But to his credit and his defense, it must be *very* difficult (at the *very* least) to hide your disdain for those who inhabit the lower tax bracket (us). After all, he holds the incredibly lauded, highly skilled, and pride-welling position of "jewelry store associate." It would be very difficult, I presume, to even *begin* to relate to two young people who just hold lesser, more "normal" jobs. Hey, at least you tried, right? And thats all that I can ask. And for that, I give you one star!

First, if you are looking for diamonds or jewelry, go downtown to 16th and Champa where you will find MULTIPLE jewelers in one building and find whatever you need! (910 16th Street to be precise) That being said, the owner of DDJ gave us an absolutely horrible experience! While shopping for an engagement ring, we stopped by this shop about 30 minutes before their “closing time.” However, to our disappointment, they had already moved all of their stock into their safe in back. When we asked what was going on they acted as if we were rude and came after hours. I was so disappointed I walked out their front door. When my, now fiancé!, confronted the owner and said it’s a poor way to do business, he came from around the counter, took off his jacket obviously to act threatening and got right into my fiance’s face! He continued raise his voice and said “Fine, go get your boyfriend”. She told him how we wouldn’t even want to purchase a ring there even if had found something simply because of the horrible memory. He told her to get out of his store!! Upon walking out of the store a few more words were exchanged including a “f$^# you from the owner, which I heard directly. In the end, we heard from multiple people at a restaurant very nearby that they had heard other ridiculous stories about this store’s owner. Ultimately, we found an amazing ring downtown!
