I never write reviews for anything, but this was one of the worst experiences I have had with an employee. The dollar general used to be great. My friends and I would walk down to this store every weekend. So you could say we were loyal customers. Now I cannot say we will ever go again after today. We walked down and my friend was told to put his backpack at the front of the store which is nothing new. We browsed the store for 5-8 minutes and were told to leave the store. We asked what was wrong and the woman said we were yelling, running around the store, and disturbing the customers. Although none of that was true. We were talking with an inside voice and were just looking around the store like any other customer would. She also made my friends who werent going to pay outside. After 5 or so minutes she told me I had to leave even though I was still shopping. I paid and then she found my last friend in there and told him to stop and leave. We asked what was wrong and she continued to exclaim that we were making a ruckus, that we were in the store for 30 minutes, and that we were bad mouthing her. Of all things, she was rude to my friend because she essentially called him stupid. Long story short, I will not be coming here again without an apology or some reimbursement. This company needs to learn how to treat their loyal customers. What a shame. P.S. If you want to go to a good dollar store, the Dollar Tree is actually pretty great.

Having shopped at this store for years, I can confirm that something happened over the past year with the staff. I had always known that they were recreational drug users, but after the police served Rachel Diane, the employee who stole the prescription pain medicine, with official documentation, I knew they where in the wrong. These girls have bragged for years that they can get the motorcycle club known as The Sons of Silence to inflict violence upon anybody they who they choose. Im pretty sure these employees are full of themselves, but when they showed up on West Ramona Ave on April 25th with the firearms and the intent to inflict harm, they crossed the line. the community is organized now, and we are not stopping until Dave Mollaun, the district manager, and all of the responsible staff at the 8th street Dollar General have been fired and removed as a public safety threat from our neighborhood.

An employee of the Dollar General on 8th street in Colorado Springs stole prescription pain medicine from a customer. After the customer’s son tried to rectify the situation, this employee manipulated her coworkers into stalking, harassing, vandalizing, and menacing these individuals and their neighbors. Numerous attempts to work with Dollar General management to solve this issue have resulted in nothing. This company does not care about the community, and its managers actively encourage its employees to engage in criminal activity against the property owners of the Westside of Colorado Springs, CO.

I love this place I visit it everyday almost & Ive never had a negative experience. The staff is amazing Ive always been greeted with a smile. Prices are pretty good on most things and they always have sales going on. I got my family to go with me once and now its there go to dollar store. I would definitely recommend The Dollar General on South 8th st they are wonderful :)

The dollar general employees are great ive been going there for 7 years and have never had a issue. The post prior to mine is untrue and i know this for a fact Ive been there during some of the run ins with the person in the prior post and what it is is the dollar general employees are being stocked by the individual because they wont date him.

Older location but the selection is pretty decent, and the staff is amazing! I also think they have great pricing compared to the Safeway and Walgreens in the area. I would definitely recommend this location to others.
