I have high expectations when it comes to customer service. That said, Christy’s delivers high quality customer service in both the rental & retail arenas. I rented my nieces’ seasonal gear and several different skis for me, over the past months, in my quest to find the perfect all mountain ski. I ski old school & am trying to learn the new carving & powder techniques. The men & women in the rental shop have been technically knowledgeable, listened earnestly to what I wanted, & have helped me select some marvelous skis to try. I appreciate these people! The efforts of the team have translated directly over to the retail side where folks there have heard what I’ve tried out and have helped me identify a couple skis that will make a perfect one-ski quiver. I’ve also appreciated the excellent pricing incentives for returning & “reserve early” customers. This mattered a lot when I was deciding what store I would rent my family’s equipment from this season. In retail, many employees come across as pushy & aggressive or uninterested & apathetic towards the customer. From rentals to purchasing equipment, from clothing to goggles & head gear the Christy’s staff are none of these things. They conduct themselves professionally; they are easy to talk with & not condescending; they showed interest in me; they are technical specialists; & they have been patient & focused time & time again on helping me fulfill the gear needs for my family and me. I’ll be a customer for a long time.

I bought a whole snowboarding setup and Chris was really really awesome and patient and helpful. The snowboard performed well on the first day, but not so much on the second day and it was completely unridable on the third. I did some research and figured out the board had no wax on the bottom and ice and snow was sticking to the wood of the board making it impossible to ride (way too much friction). I went back to the store and they told me that factory wax sucks and that its like a spray on that goes away really quick, so I asked if they could wax it but they told me it would take 4 days, which is absurd. Having finished final exams I wanted to ride right away. The guy showed me the stuff to do it myself and showed me an iron (cheapest was $79) and wax and stuff and I thought it was too expensive, but when I came back I saw there were actually options that were extremely easy spray or liquid wax. The buying experience was good but they didnt care at all about the fact that I wanted to ride and didnt even bother to show me the liquid which was exactly what I was looking for (Im guessing because its a much cheaper option). Would have given 5 stars from my buying experience but I honestly cant give more than 2 or 3 based on my latest experience as a customer who isnt buying $500 worth of stuff

Wow Eddie was so helpful. After frustrating experiences at just about every other ski shop in Boulder, I arrived at Christy Sports and was greeted by Eddie. He took me over to the snowboard boots and every boot I wanted to try was in stock in my size. Amazing considering no other store had boots in my size. Eddie patently brought out half of the stores boots and explained the differences. I was there for over 3 hours trying on half the store and Eddie was always checking in with a smile. At other stores the employees left me for over 30 minutes without checking in and they acted like I was too needy of a shopper and it made me feel uncomfortable. I did not feel like I was bothering Eddie, he encouraged me to continue to try on more boots and never pressured me to purchase anything. He does an amazing job and made my experience shopping for snowboarding gear so much easier. From now on my search will start at Christy Sport. I wish all employees could learn from Eddie how to make the customer shopping experience fun and enjoyable. Not only was Christy Sport great but they were so much better than every other ski store in Boulder.

Absolute pleasure (we rented skis and boots). That was the short version if you do not want to read my full story. This place came recommended to us by someone who lives nearby. So we rented our ski equipment online. We changed our travel plans last minute, and wanted to pick up our equipment just before closing, instead of the next morning. We called ahead, and they said to come on in, but apologized that there could be a short wait. We showed up, and were helped by Jordan F. This guy was efficient, extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Even though it was almost closing time, he treated us like we were the only customers for the day. Equipment was top notch. We had a great time skiing with it. Return was again handled by Jordan, and again, super helpful, friendly and efficient. The other staff members seem to be of the same caliber. All in all a place we can strongly recommend for your rentals. Thank you Jordan!

Dont ever, ever, EVER get your skis tuned here. Christy charges $25 for a $2 tune up. I mean seriously lousy work. I go in asking for my skis tuned before going on spring break, and they charge me $25 for waxing, scratch covering, and edge sharpening. When picking up my skis I find that NONE of the little scratches were even touched, the edges are as dull as before, but at least, AT LEAST, they waxed them... something that i can do in my CU dorm room... in under 5 minutes. SO, please dont take it lightly when i say that i could have paid a monkey 3 bananas to do a far better job. IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR SKI EQUIPMENT, THEN CHRISTY SPORTS (a terrible service for a high price) IS THE WRONG CHOICE!!! DONT EVER ENTRUST YOUR SKIS OR SNOWBOARDS TO A BUNCH OF COLLEGE KIDS WHO DONT GIVE A SECOND THOUGHT TO THE WORK THAT THEY ARE DOING. DONT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I DID!!! DONT CHOSE CHRISTY. EVER.

I cant say enough about my experience at Christy Sports in Boulder. I went skiing this past weekend with my girlfriend so we both rented equipment as well as bought some gear while in the store. From the moment we walked in Megan and her colleague offered individual help picking out the best possible snow pants. When we went to go rent skis, boots, poles, and helmets Jordan and the crew killed it with excellent customer service. Asked me how the trip was, asked me how the skis worked, made some recommendations, and shared that if you book in advance you can get a pretty awesome discount on rented equipment. I live in Colorado, but for anyone either living here or visiting, I strongly recommend Christy sports for rentals, equipment for purchase, or just for some great advice for whatever mountain sport you are planning on doing!! Thanks Christy Sports, see you next weekend!

Came out to christys with the need to purchase my entire ski wardrobe and gear. Two gals that were seasoned skiers jumped right in to assist. Walked me through all the gear they and other staff used. Helped me find the right gear to get me on the slope. This wasnt a cheap purchase either, they went above and beyond on a discount considering the money I was spending. This was three weeks ago. Im in the car writing this as my wife just walked in the store to get her gear. When the kids wake up from their nap, well be taking them in to get some gloves. The service I got was fantastic, they have earned my business from here on out!
