You know those days when you cant just seem to get a break? I was having one of those days today, where you have that looming to do list that makes getting out of bed at 5 am extra delightful--you know, watching the clock move from 1 am to 2 am to 3 am and dreading that alarm because you roll over and every task of the day isnt just a chore--every task is dread and hitting obstacles and complications. Time travel: about an hour and a half ago into our thirteen hour day I am met with the last task on the list: A trip to Best Buy to troubleshoot problems with my laptop--and problems, that word? That doesnt begin to cover what was building to vehement frustration--and then I walked into Best Buy and was immediately acknowledged and sent to see Kyle at the "Geek Squad" station. Geek Squad? Nah, more like pragmatic computer scientist laboratory of awesome people. Kyles professionalism was impeccable and asking of all the more respect, as in spite of his acknowledgement to corporate rules, he did not compromise his ability to remain personable, knowledgeable, approachable, and most importantly? He was authentic with me. He was patient and reassuring. He treated me like I was the first customer of the day but not just a customer or a consumer, he treated me like a person and fulfilled each and every necessity that represents the essence of customer service. These necessities are those my grandfather taught me and that Dr. Seuss likely taught you too: "A person is a person, not matter how small." Today I was feeling small and defeated and then I had the pleasure of meeting Kyle and just as my grandfather taught me, I sought out his equally wonderful manager, Mark to express my gratitude, to thank the team for hiring people like Kyle. Thank you so much for turning my day around and for ending my day with me smiling instead of vexed with frustration. Bliss, bless, blossom. :)

Horrible customer service for a car stereo installation. The technician displayed extremely poor communication skills and a lack of time management. Installation took over 3.5 hours with additional charges and an incomplete job. My new stereo works worse than my old one, which was literally held together with electrical tape. The technician told me when he was finished that I just needed to reset my clock when I start my car. He did not, however, tell me that my stereo will not save anything like radio channels, etc. Furthermore, the technician had the audacity to say he was doing me a favor with the amount of time he took on the installation. If he took that long, I would expect him to give me a finished product and not some half-ass job. This was a sloppy installation that resulted in my trash being spread out on my passinger side, front passinger speaker sounds worse than before the insatallation (I am assuming he tweaked with the connection), my dome light is not working (possible associated with him going through and tinkering with my fuses), and my stereo not working properly (it reverts back to its factory settings every time I shut my vehicle off and I have to manually reset them every time). The technicians answer to this was to "charge me a lot more" to have everything fixed. DO NOT go to the Boulder Best Buy for car stereo installs unless you like technicians with poor communication skills, poor customer service skills, lazy/sloppy work, poor time management skills, and a condescending attitude.

Today was my birthday and my girlfriend surprised me with a wii u and a game. I tried it out but it wasnt really my thing and it was pricy so I decided to return it. I returned the wii u and the lady said I couldnt return the $60 game because I "could have copied it". That makes sense for a movie, but that makes no sense for a videogame. You cant get a cd big enough to store it and you need a jailbroken console to play it. Not only that, but when my girlfriend bought this as a gift (they knew it was a gift) they didnt mention it at all and they also told her the console came with two controllers but it only came with one. The lady was also being incredibly rude and her tag should probably be changed from customer service specialist. I was pissed but I tried to forget about it and went to look at headphones. I was conflicted between headphones and earphones and I asked to try some earphones and he told me I couldnt and that I could buy them, try them and return them if they didnt fit well. When I finally made a decision to buy some they didnt even have them. As I was leaving they asked me for my receipt for the game as well and I was pretty pissed off at this point so I just told him off and went on my not so merry way. These people dont even know what they are selling, dont waste your time on this terrible store. Thank you for ruining my birthday best buy!

I called Best Buy in Boulder when a friend had suggested they could arrange for someone from the "Geek Squad" to come to my home to help me resolve some issues with a home wireless network. When I called, the Geek Squad people were either at lunch or busy, and the person took my name and number and promised a return call. Within minutes, my phone rang, and a Geek Squad person explained that if I wanted to set a home appointment I must call 1800-GEEK-SQUad (he even translated it into numbers for me), and we ended the call, I immediately dialed 800-GEEK-SQA and thats when the FORTY-FIVE MINUTE NIGHTMARE BEGAN!!!! After being trapped repeatedly in the telephone tree, I ended up having to enter my home number repeatedly, my zip code repeated, I was forced to provide information to set up not ONE but TWO profiles, I was told repeatedly that they couldnt find me and then they could, And on and on and on. It was certainly among the most unpleasant such experiences I have ever had. It was so annoying that I finally just told them to cancel the appointment - that they had demonstrated that they could not be trusted to manage the thousands of dollars of computer equipment that I own. I would urge you to find alternatives to 1-800-GEEK SQUAD. These guys are the picture of poor management and worse customer service. I bet its a lousy place to work too.

What started as a mini nightmare, ended perfect, thanks to Nick at Best Buy in Boulder, Colorado. I purchased a Viper remote start as a surprise birthday present for my husband. I had purchased it about 10 days prior to his birthday and scheduled the next available install which was November 28th, the day of his birthday party. When I arrived for my schedule install they told me the bad news....the install had been scheduled incorrectly and the installer, Nick, did not do installs that day and wouldnt be in for several hours. I tried to understand how my install could have been scheduled incorrectly so far in advance. On the computer, it looked like another customer had also been scheduled that day after me. Mark, the manager seemed pretty uninterested in my blight and no one even said sorry. After hanging out at the front for about an hour and almost getting teary eyed with Mark, they called Nick to see if he was awake. Nick came in prior to his regularly scheduled time to do the install. Nick is a gem for this Best Buy store, he is super friendly, knows what he is doing and does a through job. It takes a few hours to complete and I was so thankful that it was able to be resolved.
