Love this shop! tucked into the new corner of Melrose and La Cienega, Alfreds is the first purchase of my day almost every day of the week. I stop in while on my way to work, the coffee ground aroma alone rechargers my batteries on a slow moving morning. They are dog friendly and do have benches outside, this is a win win for me! Dont forget to ask for a stamp card while you’re there. Their friendly staff also is a no pressure no hassle environment so my mornings are smooth.

Like the original Alfred coffee, this place has character and a little spunk. The cold brew is good and they have options for pastries. The floors and walls are an interesting throwback pattern. The A with antlers along the back wall remind me of an Abercrombie store. I guess the only issue here is the price, which is definitely high. There is seating in the alley as well, which is super cute.

Delicious coffees and treats! When I am on the go, I love to pop in here and grab my morning fix. The original location on Melrose is better for sitting and people-watching or doing work, but Alfred in the alley is a great spot to grab and go. The ambiance is totally different and striking - very cool. The staff is super friendly and the style is spot-on, per usual. Definitely stop by!

The baristas were great and served us a pair of excellent mochas (dairy and soy). My poppy seed muffin was also great, so much so I went back to the counter to buy a second. The space is fresh, but also small, so it can accommodate only a few simultaneously seated customers. I usually like to read as I drink and eat my morning treat, but this space is more for coming and going.

Alfred Coffee are super friendly, have a great customer service, it it always feels like your visiting your friends every time we stop by here. Great food, great smoothies. A tip would be to call in to order ahead of time, and pick up if youre running out of time on lunch, because it might take a little while if you do walk in because theyre seriously always busy during lunch.

Seriously my favorite coffee stop! Every time I visit LA, I always stop here and the staff is so nice and welcoming. Since I dont live in the area, I love the Alfred merchandise and always love to treat myself with something to take home. Really cool place to take fun pictures and relax. I always recommend this place to friends traveling. Open up a shop in Texas please!!!

Coffee is GREAT! Place is super hipster, which is amazing. The staff used to wear clothes from Rag & Bone, need I say more. This is a good location to go if you are on the west side of Melrose and need to quickly get in and out. Gets super busy in the AM because of the workout classes all around it.

I ordered cold brew with almond milk, and I have to say it was so smooth and delicious. Would have given it five stars but during sessions at Cycle House (next door) the alley literally vibrates with sub woofer blasts. I would come back especially if I want to avoid the long lines at Urth Caffe.

Loved this little coffee shop. Found there pictures all over Instagram, and of course I had to visit them. It was my first time and the employees were super friendly, my coffee was delicious. I love the atmosphere of the place, I would defiantly recommend it.

Good coffee, service is fast but could be a little friendlier. Theres tables outside if you want to hang around. I left because theres a spinning club next to the Alfred Coffee and it was kind of noisy.

Alfred has great coffee and excellent service. Love Stumptown Coldbrew. Its especially great that they often serve Yeezy Boys bagels at this spot. love sitting in the Alley.

I loved this place. Then they started closing at 4pm, and about a 8 months later stopped opening at 6am both without warning. So I went in to get my coffee and it was closed.
