Im amazed at the number of great reviews, and feel they led me astray. I enjoy all sorts of coffee - from pour over to cold brew to a velvety cappuccino. After camping the night before and waking up to my instant coffee, which was a bit gritty but admittedly - coffee - I desired a smoother cup brewed by an actual coffee house and hoped Coffeebar might fulfill that desire. After passing on the long line that went out the door (surely a sign of good coffee) and coming back around two hours later for a cup, I was sorely disappointed. I ordered the house coffee as I didnt crave an espresso style, and ended up drinking a cup that tasted second best to my morning instant. I was shocked at how thin, watered down and lacking of flavor it was. (I tried to doctor it with cream and sugar but it would not come back to life). Maybe I should have ordered an espresso-style coffee as I see plenty of reviews raving about them - however I feel as a coffee house I expect a certain level of craft and attention to your house coffee (think Highwire or Stumptown). To top it off, my Nutella croissant sadly lacked any amount of Nutella. Not all was bad - the vibe was positive and upbeat, the service was incredibly friendly and they had a great outdoors area. Though the TV in the main room was not my favorite as I feel they distract from good conversation, Im sure others enjoyed the motocross playing.

A previous reviewer wrote that Coffee Bars latte was the best they ever had. I hope thats true in more than a "Starbucks is my standard for espresso"-kind of way, but based on my experience with the house coffee, I doubt it. Ill put it this way: the same day I went to Coffee Bar Id made instant coffee on a camp stove behind a rest area outside of Truckee. The vague taste of clay and cement notwithstanding, the camp stove coffee was ambrosia compared with the thin, burnt mess I purchased hours later at Coffee Bar. Okay, Im being a bit of a jerk here. The service was good—quick, pleasant, professional. The pastry (something with Nutella?) was fine. The bathroom was clean. Motocross was playing on the TV, distracting but interesting (who watches motocross in the Bay Area?). And based on other reviews, it sounds like the espresso wouldve been swell. But if you just want a good cup of coffee and a chill vibe, walk a few blocks over to Dark Horse Roasters. Its just better. P.S.: If youre coming from the Bay Area, you can imagine Coffee Bar as a kind of faux-local Starbucks; Dark Horse would be more like Highwire or Bicycle.

The coffee and food are fine. But today visited with my (on lead) German shepherd to sit outside. But was unable to because of an employees off lead German shepherd which would not leave my dog alone and eventually caused a altercation. The employees dog was allowed to roam around inside and outside the coffee bar and foul in the garden area. When finally the employee came to see about the dog she had the temerity to lecture me about having my dog on a lead and this is what caused the problem. What an attitude and note to a health inspector - employees dog roaming around a restaurant preparing food - worth a look. Not getting my business again and I was a regular

How many ways can I say that I love this place? I love in San Francisco and was introduced to Coffeebar as a guest in an airbnb in Tahoe. It was love at first sip. Ever since, Ive been going to Truckee every few months to get my coffee grind fix. The coffee here is seriously that good! The service is great here and its always popular. Theres wonderful outdoor seating where you can enjoy your coffee, tea, beer, wine or food. The seasonal garden veggie crepe was miraculous by the way. Theres some free parking for coffeebar patrons right by the location if youre able to nab a spot, otherwise its paid parking.

Had the pleasure of a business meeting with a Realtor friend on 2/27. Our coffees and sandwiches were absolutely magnifico! I saw then why the place was jammed, with folks standing outside waiting for tables. Highly recommend for sipping, tasting, meeting and greeting! I have been a stranger. But that will change! Coffeebar is kind of a jack-of-all-trades, with everything from gelato to sandwiches, and coffee to "calzones". Its a "groovy" cafe, with a few tables inside and a large outdoor patio area. Their cappuccino was pretty good, but the latte was excellent. The spinach and feta croissant was meh.

A true gem of a cafe! Stopped in on our way out of Tahoe, and so glad we did. Excellent espresso and lattes - and they even offer matcha lattes! Food menu is healthy yet hearty. We didnt order food this time, but will return on our next trip for a casual breakfast with a great vibe.

Uninspired food; even the crushed red peppers requested to spice up a dull dish had no flavor. Beer selections out of stock. Great bartender, but the setup was so bad she was running all over the restaurant...even to get a beer. Not worth the trip. Betters options are close by.

Amazing coffee, beer and good energy. Its a must stop for me when Im headed over the pass. Coffee Bar had Ol Republic Dead Canary on tap today and I enjoyed a pint of it with the Napoli panini. It made for a perfect Sunday after a long week of work. These guys rock!

The gluten free banana chocolate chip muffin is fantastic. So is the coffee. The bow-tie clad barista dudes are fun and friendly. Id go back again in a heartbeat, except Coffeebar is a four hour drive from my house, so my visits will have to be limited to vacations.

I just experienced a carmel espresso bar from the Coffee Bar. Man-o-man. I highly recommend them. They are SUPER SWEET but super delicious. I think its best to split one so you dont carry around any guilt after eating the whole thing!

Great place and great food. I go there at least twice a week. Two quick wants:. Bring back the couch and make the squeeky door quiet. Those are polishing a diamond. Great to have a local coffee shop not run by a chain.

Best coffee in town! I go hear every day I am Tahoe. Lovely atmosphere to study or work both in - and outdoors. Their sandwiches are a little dry, but the baked goods are really good.

Friendly service in a cozy place tucked back from the main strip in Truckee. Will be certain to visit again when passing thru to Tahoe. Excellent Mocha!
