This place is awesome. The staff are really knowledgeable and helpful. I was in there on three separate occasions recently when picking their brains about skis and back country equipment. Not once did they try to really push any products or do the hard sell, which I (and probably most others find somewhat annoying). I had some great deals elsewhere, so I didnt get skis from Alpenglow, but I went ahead and had them mount the new tech bindings on them. So thankful for all their advice and helpful hints.

I own a local vacation rental company and when people ask where to go for mountain gear, Alpenglow is always our top recommendation. Brendon and staff are out of this world and you won’t find a better selection quality items. Not cheap, but they carry the best of the best. Not only will their team get you geared up, but they will point you in the best direction for local hikes, rides, runs, climbs, & touring.

This is far and above the best place to find the right gear from a back country ski trip, to a day climbing, orj ust for a great pair of running shoes. Extremely knowledgeable staff mixed with superb gear selections in a great location make this the only place in Greater Lake Tahoe I recommend to friends, family, or anyone I meet looking to go big in the great outdoors.

Great store. Great merchandise. I bought a pair of boots I love. One of the guys helped me with everything - boots, rain poncho, and instead of me buying a flashlight and a battery operated lantern, he suggested I get a head lamp and a water proof bag to keep things dry in, that doubles as a lantern when you attach the head lamp to it!

Super-helpful, knowledgeable about both gear and the area, went out of his way to explain to us where to find hidden trail gems and his personal favorites, directing us to some of our best hikes and nices tent spots in the Sierra. Ive been in here a few times. Once for some rock climbing equipment, and found the staff really helpful. They also suggested some local spots for top roping. They were also helpful with suggestions for winter gear - even for dogs. The ski stuff is a little pricey, but seems to be good quality.
