I was raised and lived in Santa Cruz from the 60s until we moved away 8 years ago, I love the Ugly Mug and it is hard to make a trip to Santa Cruz without stopping by the Mug before heading home. They have the best Mexican Mocha, friendly staff, and relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommend the Ugly Mug.

The Ugly Mug is amazing. I love coming in here after school or during lunch.The people that work there are super nice also which is a plus! The coffee is good and you should get a smoothie! A little expensive but dang they are good. The atmosphere is relaxed and it is easy to get work done in here.

Great local coffee shop. Is what you would expect from local coffee biz. Im am usually there about once a week and always enjoy the interaction with the staff. They apparently cater to local musicians and though I have never been there for the tunes, like that they support local musicians.

Owner Steve was more than willing to help out our student nonprofit fundraiser on last minute notice, the staff and people here are extremely genial and warm. Layout is a restaurant-style and quaint and the baked goods are delicious!
