I moved to Santa Cruz from Maui several years ago, and was so happy to find this store. Ive been shopping here for several years, and have furnished my house with a beautiful banana leaf sofa and chair set and several other pieces of furniture that reminded me of my tropical home. Within the past year or so, the original owner sold this store. The new owner has changed the focus of the store from tropical/island decor to beach house kitsch. He still carries some of the gorgeous wood furniture, but many of the lovely tropical furniture pieces and textiles have been replaced by driftwood style furniture and cheap looking shell odds and ends. Its starting to look like a tourist trap at the Boardwalk. Im so sorry to see the changes that are taking place. The owner doesnt seem to understand that this store was known for its unique island sensibility, and had a very strong customer base. The last thing Santa Cruz needs is another store that sells whitewashed furniture, starfish and sea shells. I guess Ill have to go back to doing my shopping during my visits to Maui.

The most beautiful island decor store in Santa Cruz County! Walking in the door takes me right back to vacation memories, complete with the scents of island florals like pikaki and plumeria. They have unique and beautiful items in every nook and cranny. A few of my most-loved treasures in my home include a woven banana leaf mirror, coconut shell sconces and palm tree candleholder I purchased at Element. My sister has the beautiful mahogony bedroom set and it looks fantastic. This store reminds me of walking along the marketplaces in Hawaii. LOVE IT!

I just moved to Santa Cruz and was looking for a rattan sofa. I found Elements and what a treat!! The quality and selection is amazing. It reminds me of being in Hawaii only now I can bring anything home. I purchased a rattan sectional and it is beautiful. The service and delivery was just as promised. If you are looking for some unique home furnishing, check it out.
