Its hard to believe how many years I drove past Taylors on the way to someplace else. How could I have deprived myself for so long! Then a couple of years ago our bus system developed a light rail line that dropped me off across the street from the store. The rest is history. I know it can be pricey, but when I go there I rarely buy anything I can get anywhere else. Usually, Im there to buy something unusual, like Italian tuna packed in olive oil, or one pork chop or a chicken leg and thigh, or Italian candies, or grooming products that you can only find in natural food co-ops. When I go in there, I am greeted by at least five or six of the staff, and when I pick out something from the meat case, I have often heard, "Good choice!" I have never had anything even remotely unpleasant in the way of experiences at Taylors. One day I was craving pot roast for one, and all they had was a huge chuck roast. I asked if there was any such thing as cutting off a slice, and the young man asked what I had in mind. I told him, pot roast, but it was only for me and anything as big as what they had would go to waste. He said, "I have an idea. Ill be right back." And there he was again, holding a gorgeous piece of chuck steak. It was thick enough and solid enough to cook up just right. Next time I was in, that same young man asked me how my pot roast had come out. How can you beat that? I dont eat much meat, so I like being able to go where I can get exactly what I want--a piece of fish, three or four slices of bacon, Italian fennel salami, half a pound of ground chuck. I go about once a week, and I always leave happy. Five stars for Taylors market.

WARNING: In my opinion this reseller lacks the business processes and customer service to be worthy of doing business with based upon my experience with them on Amazon. I just wanted to warn the public about the practices that this company is taking on Amazon, just in case they are doing the same thing to other customers. On December 23rd, I pleased an order on Amazon and on the 24th I received the shipping notice and the USPS tracking information. On January 12th I contacted the seller as I still had not received by order and learned it was on backorder and would ship sometime in the future. How can this be I wondered as the web site stated it was in stock would be shipped within 1 – 2 days, same as your site states. When looking at the fact of the transaction, it looks like they are faking shipments with USPS for goods they dont have in stock just to charge the credit card. Facts of the Transaction: They misrepresented on the web site that the product was in stock (Fraud?) They charged my credit card without having the goods to ship (Fraud?) They sent a notice to USPS to pick-up a product they didn’t have in stock, and to create a tracking number as if the product had shipped (Fraud?) They seem to be taking accounting credit in advance of actually shipping products, which is illegal in most states Bottom line: I believe you need to be aware of the businesses in your area that may have possible fraudulent practices.

This is a small boutique type grocery that has a butcher counter. Parking is very limited. We go here for items that are not readily available elsewhere. They dont have a lot of organic options and are a bit pricey. We notice that their meat from the butcher counter tends to go bad faster than say meats purchased from Costco. So buy the same day you need it. If you want fresh ground meat or anything thats not in the case, note that the butchers are "sometimes" moody or grumpy. So we just go mostly when we need something thats in the case. Hopefully we can get our own meat grinder at some point in the future. One item that is really good is their smoked pork chops despite the fact that they are very salty. However they are often sold out. Some other items they have are "real" soup stock in the freezer case, Straus organic heavy cream in the glass jar, Carmazzi caramel popcorn, Tonnino Ventresca Tuna in a glass jar, Burroughs eggs etc. Basically the best thing to do is go here carefully look thru each aisle and case without looking too weird and you will probably find stuff you didnt even knew existed. With all that being said this is "definitely" a part of our grocery shopping circuit.

I still remember the times when I drove from the Bay Area to Sacramento to visit a very good friend. I am not sure how I found Taylors Market but it must have been through my niece who comes from Sacramento,. Let me just say that the employees there always went way out of their way to help me with anything that I needed. The butchers were that way as was the produce person and the lady who did all of the food prep for the deli. I spent a lot of time shopping and talking to different people who worked there. I came there every week because I was the one who was bringing dinner. The prepped food from the deli along with whatever I bought at Taylors was always fresh and always very good. My biggest complement would go to the very friendly and very customer service oriented owners and employees. Some day I plan to visit Sacramento where I will be sure to stop at Taylors Market just to see how things are doing there.

I avoided Taylors for awhile because of its rep as an upscale, foodie market. When I finally went there, I loved it. Its just a small, selective market with outstanding meats, wine, cheese, and a quirky selection of canned and jarred goods. In a pinch, you can even get ordinary (but rather expensive) sundries there, which is nice when you just need one or two things and dont want to battle the crowds at Raleys and Target. In those situations, I usually walk out with three things, though--cant resist their sea-salted blondies by the checkout stand.

I have ordered 4 meat items to be shipped together, Tuesday, My order has not left their location,Fed Ex says that the label has been created, but the order has not been picked up and this is Sunday! I will never again order anything from Taylors Market, I called talked to the shipping dept. and all I got was excuses. and Im Sorry, That doesnt cut it with me. I expected a lot better service! I think if I could stop the order in mid stream, I would and order from some other source.

Excellent specialty market and butcher. Has one of the best meat departments in Sacramento. one of the few that dry age their beef. This is the only place I will buy steaks. The butchers have no problem going into the back and getting you fresh cuts of meat, or adding some amazing marinade for you. They really go above and beyond. The prices are reasonable for what youre getting, restaurant quality meats that the supermarkets just cant touch.

Locally owned corner market. They cater to those who live in the Land Park and Curtis Park neighborhoods, so prices are, for the most part, higher than other markets in the area. Great meat selection, legit butcher, always fresh vegetables and fruit, and many home-made dishes available as well. The staff are always super friendly, courteous, and helpful. Support Taylors Market (and Taylors Kitchen, the restaurant next door).
