If you arent going or returning from Tahoe (passing through Auburn), the Davis location is the next best thing to pick up a pie or freshly picked fruit. Smaller than the Auburn location, it does not sell burgers or freshly baked single serving chicken pot pie. Do get a basket of Ikedas orchard grown peaches and nectarines. The flavor and sweetness is to die for. Their pies are amazing, worth every penny. My favorites are the peach and mile high Apple pies. Its all fruit, hardly any syrup, and fruit is firm. The apple pie consists of over 3 lbs of sliced apples. Ikedas also bakes cookies. Their chocolate chip walnut cookies are substantial and on the crispy side. Definitely can taste the butter! The Davis store is cute, has A/C blowing during the summer and picnic tables outside. Great place to stop, stretch your legs, get some snacks, a pie (freshly baked or frozen) drinks. Plenty of gravel parking.

Ive been going to Ikedas Market for, oh, about 10 years. Ive had a really good experience there, both with the produce, which is excellent, and with the staff, which is friendly. Ikedas has become the place my family goes for fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as a few other odds and ends like their tamales and pot pies. Their produce is picked locally and picked ripe and it just tastes better. My kids get fired up about something they have in the warmer months called freezes. Freezes consist of pureed fresh fuit that has had some of the water removed, leaving behind a higher sugar content. My kids go ape-snake for them.

I purchased pre-bagged produce, as that was the only option for the fruit I bought. Under the first few pieces, Every apple was bruised with deep brown bruises. I prefer to choose my own fruit and not purchase pre-bagged. You pay a lot for the produce and dry goods here. I was really disappointed.

Holy moley! Cant BELIEVE theres another Ikedas! Hooray! I love the Auburn location, and always make a point to stop when Im nearby. But now that I know there is one here .... Road trips and traffic on Highway 80 just got way better!!

All about the homemade pies!! We stopped in and picked up Pumpkin and Dutch Apple on our way to Tahoe; definitely worth the stop! Probably the best pie I have eaten in my entire life!

Great pies, dont forget to ask for a pie club card, buy 12 pies, get a free pie! Their Fruit Freezes during the summer are a tasty way to cool off!
