BUYER BEWARE. Read this and other review. I went to Stanton Optical on Arden Way. The optometrist conducted the eye exam with my contact lenses on. No one bothered to remind me to remove them prior to the exam. Not sure how you can miss noticing contacts in patient’s eyes when examining them. Well I thought people can make mistakes. I picked some frames. While going over the order, Brent, the manager informed me that my lenses will not fit well on the frames I chose. He directed me to a section where I could only choose from 4-5 frames. I chose one reluctantly as I needed a pair right away. I had to pay extra for a pair I did not like. After going home, I decided to cancel the order as I was not happy with the lenses and the whole experience. I called the next day which was Sunday. I was told to call back on Monday, because the store was closed. I called on Monday. I spoke to Brent, the manager who was very rude and disrespectful. He stated I had only 24hrs to cancel my order and I already exceeded that time. I explained that I had called the day before and was told the store was closed. He stated that that was not true and pretty much that I was lying. I informed him I will be calling customer service and he said "go ahead" with sarcasm, probably knowing customer service was a joke. I called customer service toll free number and left a message twice. No response as of today. I emailed, I received the same response after 20 days: that I had exceeded the 24hr limit for order cancellation. I replied asking where the 24hr cancellation policy was because I could not find it anywhere. No response to that inquiry by email. I went to the store today to pick up my glasses. I spoke to Amina. Amina was very polite and had great customer service skills. She stated I could pick another frame, and was not sure why I was told I could only purchase from a limited selection. She could not provide me with anything in writing about the 24 hr policy. The new frames were ordered, but the store will not refund the $100 difference in price. To be continued when I pick up my glasses. Stanton Optical should require additional customer service to staff and especially Brent, the manager. Or require him to get counseling to work out whatever issues he has. Terrible customer service and very unprofessional. The most terrible experience ever from a service provider

I came here and a nice man helped me choose two frames for my buy-one-get-one-free promotion. I told him I didnt have time to do the eye exam that day so he supposedly filed my two frame numbers and an approximate price for the glasses. I set an appointment two weeks down the road for the eye exam and order. I did not get a reminder call prior to the appointmentr. once I completed the eye exam I was set onto the floor to pick my frames then my options such as transitional, no bifocal, mar proof coating etc. I asked why the fellow I originally spoke with that had written my frame numbers down and approximate cost wasnt helping me. They said he was busy but I could clearly see him behind the desk doing nothing (I have been in sales for over 30 years and this was a classic, "Bait and Switch") So I asked if we could at least get the quote and frame numbers from him so I wouldnt have to do it all over again. The fellow helping me asked how long it was since I was there and I said about two weeks ago. He said, we normally dont keep things like that around that long. So, on to the floor to pick my frames again. After my first appointment I was quoted $220 for both pairs with all the bells and whistles and had the same priced frames, $69. After I choose the frames and options, the new fellow is quoting me $650 and I am livid!!! I quickly ask for my glasses prescription and he asks why. I told him I was going down the street to Eye Design in the Arden Fair Mall where Ive always gone to get my glasses. He asked again, WHY? I told him I was quoted $220 for both pairs not $650. He told me to hold on a moment and went to the original fellow that wrote my frame numbers down and quoted me an approximate price. After five minutes he came back to me and said, If thats what you were quoted, thats what we will charge you. So I got both pairs of glasses for $220 a reduction of $430. What a profit they are making on unsuspecting folks but I wont be taken, CAVEAT EMPTOR.

I am like you, good or bad it should not make a difference. Having said that my wife and I just spend 4 and 1/2 months trying very hard to work with Stranton Optical and spending over $300.00 but they were unable to perform the task of supplying two pair of classes for my wife. First the prescription was filled incorrectly after waiting 18 days and did not leave the store. Next the glasses came back, one pair with scratched lenses and the other wrong again and going on 1.5 months. Next, again they came back broken when they received them and now we are at 2 months and 6 days. Finally we received them back after just a couple of day over 4.5 months only to find when we went in to pick them up that one pair was scratched again and the other pair was wrong again. After this we asked to have our money refunded and were told by the manager that she would send an email and let us know what the out come would be. We very politely refused and insisted that she call and get the O.K. to refund our money and had to insist that until then we would not leave. The manager relented and called and got he O.K to refund our first cost of $254 but the other moneys would be charged because "We changed our mind" about taking the Glasses. We refused this and insisted again on the entire amount and she gave it to us. I am not sure what the other posts about mean about good or bad review or what that has to do with anything. Wait until you have a problem and are out $352.00 and see if you can be as polite and understanding as we were, then you can talk about good and bad reviews as this review is here only to let people know that unless you stand your ground any company will try and get you to give up. DO NOT GIVE UP!!! Thanks Wayne Sacramento, Ca.

Been to a couple of Stanton Optical locations here, the Roseville one, and the Fair Oaks location. All of them are the same. Aside my personal opinion of purposely misrepresenting their deals (which I can forgive), the stores are filled with bugs everywhere, the glasses in display are dusty, they are also missing parts (why?), and they have fingerprints and all kinds of nasties on them. Whatever its a display product, people try them on all the time and Ill live thats fine. But the reviewer below who said they change prices constantly? Holy moly thats couldnt be more true! The employee was genuinely scared I was going to leave, I almost felt bad. I thought they were personally going to get beaten by their boss if they didnt make a sale. Something about something being on the door? I noticed they seemed to get very irritated and kept watching some people that kept coming in and out of the building. One short fat lady audibly groaned when an entire family came in. Wow! Way to enthusiastically greet someone! Either way the other person is right, its like a used car lot. Act like youre going to leave and watch how they scurry to get you the "lowest price". I feel bad for the employees, clearly the company is a mess. If the corporate office reads this, change your F***ing call center reps! The Filipino accent is F***ing horrible to listen to as they spend 20 mins effectively telling you that they have no idea what the hell they are doing and I dont even know if they know who theyre working for half the time. The higher ups in this company are clearly some cheap bastards. Ill be going to the newly opened Eyeglass world instead, very much an all around nicer place. :)
