I live like next door to this place. And Im a procrastinator by nature. Not to mention, forgetful, OCD, ADHD & occasionally absent-minded ;) therefore, I occasionally forget key items when shopping at the larger chain supermarkets in town. Enter Lakeside Market. They seem to have just about every little thing that one might need from a grocery store- and then some! They have a full service deli that I have yet to try out but hear rave reviews about. They have gourmet fresh-brewed coffees as well as a full selection of fountain sodas. My personal fav-- they have a sweet little bakery goods selection that I personally head straight over to every time I visit, whether Im there for propane pr perhaps a lottery scratcher. They have items on that display that u simply wont find at ANY of the larger chain supermarkets-- including G.O. (no names mentioned here but lets just say the smaller of the 3 chain supers in town & its considered an OUTLET wink wink lol)! But dont think for one minute I dont pay dearly for my obsession over sweet baked goods (or for my dalliance lol). They usually apply a 100% mark up, which can really hurt where it counts. But thats the only drawback I can offer about these folks. The inflated grocery prices. But when it comes to some of the other things they sell, such a fuels (gasoline, diesel & propane)- I feel they are extremely competitive. Theres another thing u wont find at too many other gas stations in town- the option of 24hr pay-at-the-pump. Thats right, when u pay with a credit or debit card, u can hit the pump without even going inside- 24 hours a day! Its a nice option for many. Please note: Something I just learned last night regarding their full service propane filling- they recently implemented a new policy in this regard in which u must be there before 8PM if u want to get propane. Last night I arrived at 8:45pm (a full TEN minutes earlier than I normally might arrive) & asked for the propane guy to come out & was surprised when they told me "sorry, propane service stops at 8pm". Especially in light of the fact that just 3 evenings prior, I had shown up at approx 8:52pm, asked for propane guy, and boom, he showed up out at the big fill tank & happily obliged me. They claimed it was too much of a "liability" due to it being too dark, too cold & potentially unsafe overall. I understand that completely. I didnt mention that by 6pm (more like 5ish) its already pitch dark so what about filling tanks in the other 2 hours of darkness ;) lol jk... I digress, the propane guy is really nice & said he would oblige me (lest I take my propane biz elsewhere) & even gave me a very rare & much coveted "loyalty rewards card" which gets me points for every $20 I spend, in turn, for every 10 points I am rewarded a voucher for a free shopping trip worth x-amount of dollars (cant recall exact amount, but think it was like $10?). Additionally, it rewards me every time I buy an item that has the yellow sticker/tag (I think! Will update when I confirm), I get an additional savings. Cant beat that. On the whole, I was extremely happy (as usual) with my shopping experience at Lakeside Market. Most of their staff are pretty friendly & willing to lend a hand (long as u dont catch them right at closing; they, not unlike most of middle America, are very serious about getting out of there on time & dont take too kindly to those nightly customers trying to slip in the door bcuz its "just barely 9:01pm" or the like! And being the only gig of its kind for miles-- trust me when I say this happens all the time. I know. As a lifetime procrastinator, Ive been that customer. lol

The Lakeside Market is on 162 at the corner of Kelly Ridge Road. It is the last gas station before the lake and Berry Creek area. They also carry propane here. This is also the closest market to Berry Creek and lake Oroville. The shopping center has a place to buy bait, a taco place two real estate offices Table Mountain Realty and Sunset Vista Realty all have very nice employees.

My kids live up in the hills and I flew out from Kalamazoo Michigan for two weeks and lakeside was the first place I got coffee when I was out there.i like the people. They were nice and friendly and the women in back made me the best sub sandwiches i ever ate. Two thumbs up for these people.

I was charged twice on my card and they refused to do anything about it even with my recipients and there camera watching. I had to work it through with my bank! I only go here if I have to and ONLY use cash. (Another shady thing is they even review there own store...)

New owners have really made this the best store for everything you need for spending time on the lake or camping! A million times better than it used to be!
