A cute, quaint little boutique bookstore in Rockridge. Ive popped in here many times throughout high school to browse the selections. Over the years, theyve updated the organization of the store--the childrens section is much neater now. It used to be much messier and crowded. Lighting has brightened, and even though this is a pretty small bookstore, they still have a decent selection of books, and I can spend quite a while browsing here. They also have couches that you can sit on and read. The staff is also very friendly and knowledgeable. Even if they dont have a book in their store, theyre able to order it for you so that its ready for you to pick up when it arrives. Definitely happy to see this local indie bookstore surviving the recession and remaining a staple in the Rockridge neighborhood.

lets hope this one can make it. the easy bay has lost many of its neighborhood stores. this one is a real gem. comfortable, nice selection, a little fireplace in the back. i stumbled on a reading a couple of weeks back when i visited (for the first time in several years). small but nice childrens section too. i promised myself to write a good review and to go back and buy some more stuff ;-)

One of my favorite Design Bookstores in the city. Was truly sad when the Hollywood location closed down but I still make a special trip out to the west side at lease once every few months for inspiration if nothing else. Very helpful and knowledgeable staff and amazing selection for creative. This place is second to none. Extremely excited for them to open a new store!!!

The selection here has been so thoughtfully curated and they truly know their customers. The selection looks deceptively small but they always have exactly what Im looking for from vegetarian/vegan cooking to natural dyes to chart topping popular fiction. This is the kind of place you can go when you dont have anything in mind and leave with a new treasure.

Nice, independent bookstore with well-stocked shelves, interesting staff picks, and an ongoing set of author-related events. More than anything, I appreciate the clear signage and intuitive layout of the stores and genres - it’s really easy to find what you’re looking for and at the same time, you’ll likely find a few interesting other books along the way.

Truly a lovely bookstores experience. Interesting staff recommendations, nice browsing layout, lots of cards and gift choices. They will order anything for you and it arrives quickly. Really, buy your books here instead of ordering online ... support a local business and enjoy looking around and discovering something new.

Diesel is a lovely little bookstore with friendly staff and and comfortable places to read and browse for books. I love their literary karaoke and how they arrange similar books in the windows in the front windows; from color to author to books about bunnies and their travels.
