I went to buy dog food and treats about a month ago and the cashier said he had a $15 coupon for the food. I said cool so He scanned the coupon and I guess as I was looking for my debit card he charged me for a coupon book and slid it under my dog food trying to hide it. I looked at my receipt and noticed the book on there . I asked what is this $20 charge here?" He says "you have to buy the book to get the $15 off." I told him "I never asked for the coupon, you just said you had one. You also never said it would cost me $20. What kind of coupon charges you $5 more than the actual coupon?" He then ignored me and started helping the next customer. So I told him "get your manager over here." he calls a manager and I tell her what happened and she tells me I misunderstood. I told her no I did not I understood clearly that he snuck the charge in and hid the book under my dog food while I wasnt looking. She kept arguing with me until I told her to give me my money back now. She refused to refund my money and told me to leave. So I left and tried doing a survey on the receipt, but yet again they care so little about customers there was no survey. I have been so disgusted with this place I havent shopped here since until I saw the same cashier still working there. This made me instantly angry and I told him to get someone else to ring me up I will not be set up again. I cant believe nothing was done about this issue. Apparently no one from petsmart cares about their customers. I will never shop here again. Jordan was the cashier. I highly recommend you refuse service from him. I didnt get the managers name.

This review is directed towards the pet adoption center located in the Petsmart on Mchenry Avenue. The lady running the cat adoption is not employed by Petsmart and runs her adoption in an unprofessional manner. My family and I enjoy rescuing and adopting cats. We found one to adopt at this location. Stella assured us that we could adopt this kitten and we would be very happy with it as it was very friendly. She assured us that if we didnt feel comfortable and would like to return the cat, that we could do so without question. We had to return the kitten as it was not ready for human interaction. Upon return of the kitten, we asked for an immediate refund but she was unable to fulfill this until the following Sunday. This Sunday has come and gone without a refund. I placed a call to her about the refund and said that I had to wait until December now. All she wanted to do was argue about my return of the feline. Nonetheless, a very unprofessional person running a non profit with no margin for error and insults her customers even before they adopt any pets. I would avoid this location for any pet adoptions. My apologies to Petsmart for having this person acting on their behalf in their store.

In response to the person who complained that the birds do not get personal attention. I am not sure you know what you are talking about. How long did you observe the birds? did you stay for an entire day to verify that the birds were not being handled frequently? I highly doubt it. It was my experience as an employee that the birds (macaws, cockatoos, conures, etc) are are handled on a pretty much hourly basis by employees. After the store closes most of the larger birds are brought out and interact with a individual staff members for over an hour before being put to bed for the night. Unfortunately some birds do experience stress and have to be removed from the floor until they can either be placed for adoption or until the illness has been resolved, but i dont think that constitutes as abuse. I understand that some locations may have had problems like that but lumping all Petsmart locations into a group that abuses animals is pretty silly. If you feel like the animals at any Petsmart are not being treated properly you can always call or email the corporate offices and complain.

Dont buy your dog food here. September we adopted our dog and started shopping here more than we do for our rabbit. Previous owner is family member and decided to keep same food he has had for 3 yrs. We bought a bag of Dog food here, with in 1 week we had maggot and flys in the food. We took it back to get a new bag with in a week same issue and returned that as well. Sales person said that this brand of food always comes with this issue purina one. We decided to buy it at target instead and the past 9 months no issues. Last week husband to buy and decided to give store another chance bought a small bag and opened it and you can see the harvesting of the maggots. Gross not feeding my baby that. When you walk around the store you can see the maggot flys flying around. Dont buy your dog food here. Rabbit items and fish items have been good for us

I purchased several things from your store over the past 60 days, between those purchases and now I lost my job. I was low on funds and thought Id bring in a few items bought in exchange for pet food, and the manager embarrassed me and in a way accused me of not buying them. He went as far as looking up my merchandise on their computers and because one item was old he did not allow me to exchange my merchandise. Further embarrassing me in front of other customers. On your company policies and procedures, or mission statement your company prides themselves on a hassle free return policy. That is not the service I received and because of this monstrosity I and my family and friends will not be shopping at your store anymore. Place needs a little TLC and updating. Safety wise at night it is very dark by entrance which I hugely disprove of. But everyones very nice in there. Even the manager. I had some fish that got sick and they ended up spreading to all my other fish and I lost a great deal a fish in my tank but they were very kind and compassionate about it. Unfortunately sometimes they can get fish that are brought in and they have diseases. For the most part theyre really on it and Ive only seen it happen there a few times. And I have been going into this PetSmart for I would say a good ten years. I think for that reason they really need to remodel this place. Its just really worn looking. The only thing that I saw the other night that bothered me was the adoptive cats. Their litter box were full and smelled really bad.

I got my dog Peggy from them & she is now 12 or 13 years old now. I think she was just 1 years old for when i got her. She has been a good dog for me & my parents. I say she had saved me & my parents from getting run off a dirk road a few years back & me& my mommy says she saved all of us that day my step dad was deer hunting up in the hills with us there. My dog Peggy was doing all us.
