Simply said, the best coffee shop for the buck in Downtown LA. Stumptown, Intelligentsia, Ritual, Handsome, Sight Glass, Blue Bottle (blends and single origin) are found at Spring for Coffee. You can get an individual pourover on the chemex or V60 using any bean available, just ask the barista for what is available. Pourovers are charged at market price ($3-5 depending on bean selected) and drips are sold for around $2 depending on size. I got the Ethiopia Yirgacheffe from Stumptown on the V60 for $3 (12oz.). I strongly recommend SFC for coffee to-go. It is not a great place to do work since seating is limited to outdoors where the chairs are plain nasty. If you are looking to read or do work on a laptop, skip Spring for Coffee and stroll over to Syrups or Coffee Bar, both within 100 steps.

Best shop in LA and Orange county. A tiny spot that about 3 people and a dog can fit in with a small seating area on the street that offers purist coffee. And consistently makes the BEST cap anywhere Ive been. Perfect top to bottom texture and temperature that makes it go down like a cap should. Mmmm. The coffee beans they sell are obviously carefully selected and are always really great. Ive never disappointed with beans I pick up here. Parking is all street parking unless you park a couple blocks away at Pershing Square, but the Last Bookstore is around the corner and so this neighborhood is worth spending a couple hours whenever you visit. This is a great example of a store getting good reviews based on convenience. If your tall and black prepare to be given the worst service inaginable. Went in to buy coffee and got the worst awkward stare ever. Ive pondered video taping it and putting it online. One tall girl that works in the mornings has the most awful service and greeting skills ever. Perhaps they thought I was a bum. Regardless, it sucks thaf businesses like this are able to not only thrive but get reviews based on social acceptance. I thought the coffee culture was progressive, maybe only for whites.

Some good espresso here!! I ordered the Gibraltar. Its not on the menu anymore but you can ask them. Service was fast and friendly. He explained what it was and said it was like a cortadito. Hey I like that, so for sure I will like this. And I was right it so bold and tasty. If this place was close by I would come back often. It is a tiny place. You cant sit inside but a couple of tables and sits outside. Its very cute hipster style. Great for people who live around here. Street parking or private owned parking. But you gotta pay. Dog friendly!

This is the best place to get coffee in all of Los Angeles! Knowledgable barristas who are also super cool members of the local community grind up awesome coffee. The spot is absolutely tiny but that just serves to make it even cooler! Everything they make is absolutely awesome just be aware that the normal drip seems to be exhausted and turned off by about 1pm. So if you feel like getting a "normal breakfast cup" you might want to make sure to wake up before noon =P

I have yet to have a bad coffee from this place. Pricing is good for what you get. The baristas know how to pull shots of espresso correctly. This is no Starbucks! I love to just get my coffee, sit on the sidewalk chairs that they offer and just people watch. Some say that the baristas are rude. They arent the best but really just about business. Can not go wrong with getting coffee here.

Small coffee shop on Mission. I was searching for gluten free options and to my surprise this little coffee shop had 4+ options to choose from. The owner was there working hard and eagerly ready to greet everyone with a bright and happy smile which made the vibe in the shop relaxing. Next thing I knew I spent 30 mins talking about life! Entrepreneurship at its finest! Great coffee too.

Their soy latte keeps me up and alert compared to other coffee shops I go to. I usually come here before I go to work. Unfortunately I cant continue spending here everyday or Ill never save money! Although it is quite small, somehow the wait isnt too long to get your coffee. Im so happy I tried this place. Now the rest doesnt fill my caffeine fix.

You come here for the quality. Not uncommon to find a line out the door but thats mostly because its super tiny inside. Very good and very fast coffee service. Small patio seating but hey its a busy street anyways, you are most likely stopping here for a quick pick me up on your way somewhere. Friendly hipsters and good coffee.

Excellent coffee, great cool brew. I really like walking in that area from my house. Its a nice break, and many students visit it. The one thing I really dont like about that is definitely the sitting. This isnt very convenient and isnt ideal for chats. On the other hand, I am mainly a grab and go kind of person with coffee.

This place reminds me of the quote from the Genie in the Disney film Aladdin, where he goes on about his power but then mentions his itty bitty living space. This place has FANTASTIC coffee but its basically a closet. Thats fine, though. Its a great place to duck in, grab a cup to go and walk around the neighborhood with it.

Tiny little spot serving solid espresso drinks, pourovers, and drips. Be prepared to wait in a cramped space if they have more than a few people in line (which doesnt move too fast since they just have the one espresso machine). Theres a little patio with some seating if you feel like hanging out and people watching.

Maybe this is not my type of coffee! I asked for the famous latte. Wasted money! 4.50 for a small They charge .50 if you want to add a flavor They charge .50 if you want change from whole milk to something else. It was tiny, bitter and the staff was not friendly. I had to add creamer sugar to make it work

A fine place for a quick grab and go breakfast or snack. Coffee is robust and flavorful, and the pastries Ive tried (both the ginger and blueberry scones) have also been delicious. Its not a big place, so you have to cram right in there, but the service is hipster professional and the quality is spot on.

Hands down best cappuccino in DTLA. This last cappuccino I had was incredible. Wasnt too hot (I could drink it right away) and there was no distinct separation between the foam and liquid!! It was magical. Absolutely amazing. A must for any coffee drinker.

The Cold Brew premium coffee is marvelous, not sour at all! Unfortunate they gave up on their own very hot food because I loved their breakfast burritos. However lucky their White Chocolate Cranberry Oatmeal cookie remains to be!

The ambience is modern, minimalist casual, soft lights, vibrant. Service is thoughtful and professional. The food is wonderful. I particularly love the mushroom carnitas burrito with mole...delicious! The deserts are great too.
