Pawn shop atmospheres are usually tense, with a slice of hope lining the deal you need. You hope the pawn broker is going to be reasonable, honest, and helpful. You hope hes going to see the value of your need and act accordingly, so everyone will be happy. I had my most prized possession stolen from me on the street. Im a musician. I was jumped and my guitar was taken from me. The assailants robbed me and beat me severelely. I woke up in the hospital, getting stiched up. I was crying. My guitar was gone. Id never see it again. My livelihood, my passion, my baby. Three months later, all healed up and on a whim, scanning ebay for their used Fender Stratocasters for sale. I never do that. But I did that day. And what did I find? There it was. My guitar! A one in a million! I noted the seller, pawn shop right around the corner from me. I was going to get my guitar back! Long story short, Pico Union Pawn did indeed have my guitar and they posted it for sale on ebay. I went there, told them everything. Alex, the manager. He believed me. Not only did he believe me, he immediately took it off the sale post and put it in the back, safe and sound. You see, it had to stay there while the police investigated this crime. Thats how these guys operate, honest and by the book. They kept my guitar safe and worked together with the police to do everything correctly. These guys are honest. If you want to go to a real pawn shop that has not only a lot of of merchandise but a lot of integrity, look no further. Pico Union Pawn is the one. Thanks Alex. Thank you Detective Romero. Youve done more than youll ever know for me.

I patronized this location because it was in my neighborhood and was need of quick cash for an emergency. Because of a last minute ordeal I decided to pawn my school ring - which has a purchase price of between $700 and $800. I went on a Thursday evening and saw a man with tattoos and a long beard. He was rude, dismissive and extremely demeaning - but because of my situation I persisted. I then gave him my item and he offered me $83. This was an affront to me because he made me feel like I was a criminal in possession of a hot item. I immediately got my item and decided to return the following day where I was given a more for price for my product. Fast forward to March 14, 2013. I went on a Thursday because i wanted to see the man again and inform him of my dissatisfaction and the fact that I did not appreciate his dishonesty or his lack of professionalism. He did not take kindly to this and told me to "take my broke ass on!" It was funny because this twerp is working at a 24 hour pawn shop. After a few choice words I contacted the police to receive my item. When they arrived he immediately changed his demeanor and try to intimate that it was an issue of false identity and that I had never met him before.

Unknowledgeable, I went in with four near new go-pro hero cameras, I was interested in pawning them, they are the 5th generation, the newest generation. And they said they were too old, hmmm interesting since they were the newest models available. I do not think I will bring my business to them anymore, went to another pawn shop, they did not hesitate to purchase them, avoid this place at all costs, Alex B. doesnt change anything.

Behind the window was a tattooed wannabe warf from star trek, who apparently decides to be an a-hole to everybody since they picked somebody else to fill that part in the tv series and now hes left taking my jewelry behind a window. You should really find a better place if you are selling items. Its better off waiting till the next day to sell your stuff elsewhere, than to take it to their 24 hour window. Absolute garbage.

Horrible energy. very whack. Called them up and the guy was rude on the phone, in person he was very demeaning, said he would give me 75 bucks for a guitar thats listed multiple times on various websites at $800-$1000. he said he could only get 100-300 out of it. He looked it up right in front of me and lied straight to my face. DO NOT GO HERE. I prefer Angelos in Santa Monica Ive been going to them for years for my loans.

My experience with this pawnshop was that they had a very poor customer service skills and did not know how to handle a simple task of researching a certain product that was looking to be sold to them, he had no common sense in the way that he asked for the kind of product that I had and was given a model number for it and he refuse to take the information down 10 continue to ask what product I had....

This place has tons of brand new and pre-owned Retro Jordans that are hard to find. The place is just excellent overall! Parking in the back, lots of clerks and Im very pleased with their complete transparency and their professionalism. Will come back to checkout more Jordans and will definitely do business with them again.

if you want to screw them do the following: 1) always pawn, never sell, 2) shop EVERY pawn shop and NEGOTIATE in ADVANCE of bringing your item to the store 3) they will try to belittle you and insult you because of your ethnicity, which is why they have the "we reserve the right to refuse service to anyone" sign

WOW look at all there reviews that were left in ONE week.This Pawn shop is LEAVING there own reviews.I just left their pawn shop and was treated very rude by one of there employee and was also offered way more from another pawn shop for the same item.I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PAWN SHOP TO ANYONE.

What a great bunch of people! Open 24 hours to accommodate everyone. My past experiences with pawn shops were at times a little unnerving but not at Pico. Their employees know what they are doing and are very efficient about it. I highly recommend Pico Union Pawn Shop. You cant go wrong.
