I stopped shopping at 99 cents store at highland park since I heard the manger is mistreating her employees. For the past 3 years workers at the 99 cent store in HLP have been treated unfairly. I know a few of them have been injured there and are in the middle of a lawsuit. Nuvia Grajeda who is the manager pushes these people to quit and hires her friends giving her friends plenty of hours and the people who some been there for 19 years get their hours cut. Tell me how is it that a women was almost killed by a man Jose driving a fork lift, (who is not licensed to drive it and was on his cellphone) and the manager does nothing. This man Jose is still employed and never got suspended for this. But Nuvia Grajeda tells her workers (of 19 years working there)they are not doing 100% therefore you are suspended for a week, so sign this paper and I will walk you out and I will check you bags. Why would you need to walk out someone who is "not doing 100%" but still keep Jose working with not a problem???? Nuvia Grajeda needs to leave, Lincoln hts didnt want her at that 99 cent store all for the same reason. The 99 cent store needs to treat their employees right.They are being forced to quit, these people are older and they work hard, it will be so much hard for them to find a new place of employment. Who can help these employees since The 99 cent store wont do anything for them but tell them they are not doing 100% and take them off work for a week or fired them!!

Good long wait here sadly. I love the single Tassimo coffee they have here sometimes they have it sometimes they dont. I would love more coffee selection it only 1 dollar or 1.99 so cheap. I wont mind if the 99 cent store has big can of pre ground coffee got 5.99 or something along that line. Updated April 27 2017 the manager is horrible she is rude even when the price said 2/99 cents she didnt even wanted to get me that order when the price clearly said 2/99 Oero what a bumer she act like its her product and store. She is bad new ignore her not worth my time beware this manager is bad they have a habit of relabeling the product over when its expire product!!

That place is the worst place to work, the managers dont care about there workers, they dont appreciate there hard work, I worked there be for and I didnt not like it at all when they brought Nuvia and Jose, they are the most SELFISH people I ever meet, thats why I quit because, I couldnt take it no more, I know people who worked there for years and they quit because of the managers there, I would NEVER shop there, trust me they DONT CARE about there customers or there employees.

Love/hate with this store. Ive been lucky before and have paid almost nothing for snacks that we buy at Whole Foods. Its a gamble but thats part of the fun! I would say the hate comes in because this store notoriously has one or two cashiers with 10+ people in line at any given time, but then I have come before they are supposed to be open and have made purchases before 8. Go figure!

They have great items at great deals, however not all the items in the store are only a dollar so it is not necessarily 99-cents only Stores. I often come here if only for a couple items and I end up leaving with a bunch more extra items that come in handy. A great store and I recommend it to everybody.

Going camping? get the items that you only need to use once and are going to throw it away afterwards. There are great items like cooking utensils and such. Plus you can usually find great cleaning items to help your car washes. The store is not the cleanest and can be kind of busy in the evenings.

They always have great deals on everyday stuff and very obscure things also. And the carry Hite from Korea at 2.99 a six. Thats a great deal. Only problem with this location is rhey never have more than 2 cashier lanes open at a time and its a big store. So depending on the day it might be a wait.

We have an image of 99 cent stores as having cheap quality items, but this one certainly doesnt. I got my pretty kitchen glasses here and a number of childrens gifts. They also sell amazing cards for occasions. And if you look carefully, you can get some great quality fruit there as well!

The store is okay no shopping carts or no shopping carring baskets because people keep stealing them from what the manager said ,not his fault,so thats the only disadvantage but I will still continue to shop here I just bring my own bag with me and use that as my own shopping cart

This store is usually really well stocked. Most of the time employees are really nice, but you find the occasional employee, who hates their job. But, hey it happens sometimes, be patient, usually there are big lines, its a busy store.

This 99 Cents store always has really good stuff. National brands of cereal, crackers, fresh fruit, etc. They often have tasty beer for 3.99. Today I got a six pack of Apple cider! Sometimes the lines can be very long though.

This store had a lot of overflow of stuff. The floors were dirty & sticky, i used the restroom & the bathroom had no toilet paper or seat covers. Cashiers are rude & dismissive. I wont be coming back to this 99cent store.

Lots of parking right in front of the store and the deals here are unbelievably cheap. Its also located right next to other great places such as wss, garvanza hardware, and rite aid. Im definitely going back.

Ive been to a lot of 99 Cents Only Stores and this one is pretty high on the list for top ones. They usually have a decent variety of different items from the gourmet to the inexpensive daily items.

As 99 Cents Stores go, this one is great because its huge and has an awesome inventory. But its always busy, and there are never enough cash registers open, so theres always a long checkout line.

Always have good options on all their items. The only thing I would complain about is that they dont open enough registers and the lines get long at times. But other then that very neat .

Two bits of warning. This is no longer a 99 cent store. Many items now priced other, so you need to be careful. The shopping bag I brought in was stolen from my cart! Watch out.

This 99 cent store has AMAZING stuff. They sell stuff for 99 cents that the markets sell for 3-5 bucks. People come here from other cities because its that AWESOME!

Its the 99¢ Only Store. The one in Highland Park is well located, has lots of products and good deals, etc. Service is good, and lots of free parking.
