TRIED TO OVERCHARGE MY ELDERLY CLIENT!!! * I understand UPS store is a business and they need to make a profit * I understand they have to follow UPS guidelines * This was for packing services only, no shipping costs. * actual box size used by me 22 x 22 x 10 As an IT and low voltage systems integrator, I deal with shipping on a regular bases. Now handling my own shipping vs. having a UPS store pack and ship are two different things. I understand they are in the business to make money, and I pack and ship direct with FEDEX, so I know my costs are going to be a lot less than the UPS store. So I already knew this going into the store. I took my elderly client with me to help him ship his 23" LED computer monitor back to UPS as he threw away his box. We went in with the expectation to pay for their services which includes the box, packing material. I knew in my head the materials were not above $5 (cost from local stores) but expected to pay at least $20 for the box, packing materials and their time. With the owner in view the girl measured the monitor and calculated the costs. After about a minute she came gave me a price that I had to ask three times for. I was just shocked on what she told me. $72!!! PLUS TAX as she was adamant about the tax portion. SEVENTY TWO DOLLARS PLUS TAX to PACKAGE the ITEM. does not include shipping costs. A 22" flat monitor. Even a quote of $30 would be pushing it. She broke it down by $16 box and $56!!! for bubble wrap and peanuts. I could buy an entire 125sq ft roll at home depot for $23 and a large box for $2.23. She was charging $1.50 per sq ft plus who knows how much for the peanut fillers. I looked at the owner and he justified the price. I understand they have to pack it according to UPS policy in order to safely ship the item, but this was outrages. I told my client that I will personally pack and drop the item off for him and we left. My costs was only $4 for the materials used. Later that night I went to my local UPS store in Tustin, went up to Patrick the owner and just asked him how much it would have cost to pack this box for me. He quoted me under $20! I was livid. He asked why I had that look on my face and told him what this store quoted me. He said wow, hes trying to pay his rent!. I am in support for all small businesses as this UPS store is a franchise. If people only dropped off packages they will be out of business. But they dont understand what a fair and honest price is. Either the girl over calculated the costs by mistake or did it on purpose, you know right away when something is not right. Be smart, ask questions!

VERY poor customer service... I CHECKED THEIR 3 EXCELLENT REVIEWS AND THEY ARE NOT REAL... They were created to give UPS a "good image"... new ownership took charge and they lack in customer service... the owners before were kind, good and efficient... new ownership told me "they dont care if people quit doing business with them," when I told him i did not have the money to pay my regular fee for the use of the box... i made a promise to pay, went back to tell me i needed extra time, and i needed my mail to get possible checks and he kept "banging" me over the head that i promised to pay on monday and i did not... bad customer service.... rude... not good! i have been with them for 6 years, paying... that should show them i appreciate the business... he did not care... the former long time owner before the two owners was the best one! it was a family business then... now it has been turned into a "money making machine." one business lesson the new owner never learned... HE NEEDS THE CUSTOMERS as much as the customers need their services... TREAT PEOPLE WELL, YOU WILL MAKE MONEY... TREAT THEM LIKE CRAP, YOUR BUSINESS WILL GO DOWN...

The ownership has changed and the couple who run it now are fantastic people. I say give it another try, if you dealt with the former owners, because the store has been remodeled and the service is excellent.

I went there once and I agree with earlier negative reviews. Even the store manager is rude! I go out of my way to use other UPS stores, which are friendly, helpful, and have better prices.
