Home owners beware! The Paramount, wood-framed windows that I spent nearly $6,000 on did NOT pass inspection in Whittier because James Hardware sold me windows that could not meet the citys code for energy specifications. And James Hardware took NO responsibility for this...at all. They simply told me to appeal to the head of the city inspectors and hope for the best. What it comes down to is this: you better know every detail of every code in your city because these guys will NOT make sure that what they order meets those guidelines. And if the product fails inspection, they will blame you for not having told them, blame the inspectors or the state code. As a home owner, trying to do the best I can on a limited budget and with limited knowledge, I had to learn the hard way that you cant expect James Hardware to double check that you are getting what you need before you pay your money. Now I am in the position of either replacing the windows (and paying for the installation of those windows) or finishing a job that will not be certified as having passed inspection by the city, which could affect both my insurance rates and any potential for resale in the future.

CUSTOMER SERVICE IS FANTASTIC! What a wonderful and unexpected experience! I had made an online purchase and came into the store to pick up my order. There were so many staff members offering help as I moved through the store. Wish I lived closer to this store so I could shop more frequently there.

The only other place in the area, like Lowes, that has those drawer racks of one-at-a-time hard to find fasteners in the tradition of Ace down the street. When it comes to those real hardware store amenities, forget Home Depot for that oval head brass 13mm screw.

Dont waste your time stopping, what a waste of time when Lowes or Ace Hardware is down the street customer service horrible, lady at the cashier on her on world... Just avoid the store and save your time and money
