A Private User

This Lucky supermarket is very big and modern. The sales prices are very competitive and many items are cheaper than Safeway. There are new sale items every week. They have a large variety of artisan breads including La Brea Bakery Bread. I love their bread. Their store brands Sunnyside Farms and Bayview Milk dont use the artificial bovine growth hormone. There is a big selection of organic yogurt such as Wallaby, Stonyfield, and Brown Cow. There is a coffee kiosk here and it will soon become a Pacific Coast Cafe serving gourmet coffee. There is also Pharmacy with a drive-thru window. The employees are very good at keeping the lines moving. The cashiers were very friendly. The deli makes great sandwiches and the deli employees were very nice.

Produce is okay, not great. A few times theres been just a few sad avocados on the shelf that were way overripe. Selection otherwise is good. Tends to be a little dirty/messy. The deli is awful for sandwiches. Its different every time and rarely resembles the ingredients listed on the menu. The checkers seem like they kind of hate life and arent especially interested in being helpful or friendly.

The checkout lines here are always very long. Always. Usually one or two of the self-checkout registers are out of order, and the others usually call for an employee to help, and that employees often not there. It takes forever to get out of this store and the prices just arent worth it. One positive: they hire folks with developmental challenges.

Ugh, this is the worst Luckys. The customer service is always slow. They need to take down their "3 in a line? well call another cashier" Signs because they never do. Tonight was the last straw when the cashier just walked away without helping me, and the self help machine was down. The cashier just disapeared. STAY AWAY

Great prices & service. The exact same products at 3/4 the price of other groceries. Great selection in general & staff is very helpful finding things & with other tips. Staff will not massage your ego, but you will get through the checkout stand quickly, with great products & fresh foods at a fraction of the cost.

I agree with other review, this place never pick up their phone. Never post holiday hours on website nor automatic answering machine. Called on several holiday, no luck... assumed they closed. Line is always long and slow.

Friendly staff when you get to know them, prices not to good though! Lack of strong or real management. Spent thousands of dollars on project never completed! Bad homeless problem out front... lots of shoplifting.

The cash-registers are always slow, but when you want some normal-brand stuff or junk food that you cant get at Whole Foods, Berkeley Bowl (West), Trader Joes, or Monterey Market, this is the place to come.

They dont have the greatest selection of meats. Dont even remember seeing anything USDA graded. Quality is definitely questionable. Wouldnt come here again to pick up meat.

The store itself is nice. Unlike Safeway, they seem to adequately staff the checkouts. That said, I took a star off because the parking lot navigation is a mess.
