So far so good. It is bigger than the old Safeway at Hollenbeck & Homestead (which is now closed). The store layout is roughly the same. The holding area for groceries after the checker has scanned them is somewhat smaller than the old store so if you do a big weekly shop, like we do, the checker has to pause to bag some groceries before they can finish scanning all your purchases. Cell phone reception in the store is very bad (no signal in much of the store), hopefully they will fix this with an indoor repeater. Made getting into the Safeway app in the store impossible. There was internal free WiFi but hard to connect to, perhaps it got overloaded.

Food on the shelves is often past its "sell by" date. Meat that I purchased that was within date was spoiled when I opened it before the use by date. Bread that I bought had a "use by" date of 07/13 but was moldy by 07/11. I bought two potatoes, one was gray and rotten inside when I went to use it a few days later (the other potato was fine). Their prices have increased and the quality is horrible. We will never shop Safeway again, at least not for produce, meat, baked goods or dairy. Canned goods probably still ok, but you really have to watch the expiration dates.

Tri-layered custard cake Safeway cakes are the best cakes! Let me stop you right there. Safeway for cakes??? Yes! Im a big fan of their bakery. My brothers and I were considering getting their tres leches cake for my dad but when we saw this beauty in the display, we had to get it! It had three layer of white cake with creamy custard in between. The cake was super moist, not very sweet and totally satisfying. Best part, we got this tower of a cake for $20!

I hate the guy at the customer service area, being lazy and rude at the customer. Im waiting for someone who can help me to cash my scratchers, and he come out from inside office after waiting for 10 min. Then he saw me holding scratchers and he tell me he dont have cash. Man for $75 ticket safeway has no money to cash my ticket?

Good selection of meats, produce, and groceries. Prices tend to be high, however, there are occasionally bargains to be found. Aisles are often partially blocked by useless displays, making it difficult to manouver shopping carts around. There are long lines at the selfservice and full-service checkouts on weekends.

I love coming to this Safeway after theyre renovated the place. I usually find myself stopping here to grab something for a get-together with friends since the location is so convenient, just a block from the 280 on-ramps. They also have wine and cheese tastings sometimes when Im in there.

Well located & modern Safeway off Homestead Road in Cupertino. Good selection with a bakery, Deli, and sushi bar. The organic fruit section is just a little smaller than similar Safeway stores. Overall a great place to shop for food. Plenty of free and convenient parking.

Dead bug in the sandwich! Bought sandwiches from this Safeway, found dead bug inside after it is already half way eaten. Disgusting!! The manager apologized and gave us refund on our purchase. But I would not buy from this place again.

Horrible experience the deli is very understaffed and the sushi section has four employees that dont do anything. It seems that way and every Safeway these days I dont know why the deli is so understaffed it is not acceptable.

Regular Safeway store. Lines are longer though. Also the groceries are spread out all over the store. For instance Id expect water and other drinks to be in the same isle and not in opposite corners of the store :)

The check out is very slow- even when using the self checkout line. It was unstaffed while I was using it & I needed assistance and had to wait for another employee to find the person working the self checkout.

i like this safeway for basic grocery. i do wish they carried more "general supplies", however. it would be nice if they had more than just a half-aisle dedicated to home supplies we often need!

Has everything you need. In addition, self checkout. Beware of the busy tines. You will be there a bit longer than anticipated. Worst tines - 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm (in general)
