My Suzuki DR650 got stolen - and then recovered (trashed) - after dealing with bozos on Craigslist who think that their 8K mi "mint condition" 4 year old DR650 is worth just under MSRP, I gave up talking to those wackos and filled out a form on the Suzuki website. I had calls back from four local dealerships. Ian from Contra Costa Powersports e-mailed me right back, we also chatted on the phone about what I was looking for. In the end - he gave me a better deal on a stock DR650 than the dealer on the peninsula could do -- but they did not have a DR650 in stock. He said if I gave him a down payment, he could have one in on the very next truck arriving the next day. (Ironically - East Bay Motorsports was also "out" of DR650s and gave me a song and dance about how they were "out" and didnt return my queries about when they could get one in the shop). The next day, Ian confirmed when the motorcycle would arrive and I set a time with him to get to the dealership to fill out paperwork. He even got me a VIN number so I could pass it along to my insurance before close of business and get it covered before I even put my hand on the throttle! Right when I walked into the dealership, there was my motorcycle with a "SOLD" sign on it -- so of course I checked the VIN and saw that it was mine so sat on it right away. I think thats Ians trick to figure out what his customer looks like without asking for a photo like a Craigslist blind date! He came right over and introduced himself, and then took me around to introduce me to Maurice in parts and Dan in finance. I got a nice heavy chain and U-lock to keep my motorcycles from escaping the paddock at home, and then spent some time with Dan on the paperwork. We closed the place down and Ian & Dan topped off my afternoon with all kinds of sweet talk before Nelson very kindly helped me roll out so I could ride home. And then - three weeks later - I went in for my 600 mi tune up - normally, I would just check my valves myself (already adjusted the chain at the end of the second week) but I had a date at the Concord Airport, so Brian took care of me and made sure I could get my bike checked out -- Steve did a great job, and Ricky was super nice in the check out process and getting me my keys back. Overall - a really nice group of people and not a "high pressure" environment. Im very pleased with my purchase and with their friendly customer service. The Service Dept is awesome -- I know I can depend on Brian to help me out and provide excellent service -- hes kind, friendly and professional. Maurice in Parts is super helpful -- I know he can get me the best price on anything I need -- thanks for everything!

You guys are great. I bought my Grom in May of 2014 and loved that bike. Unfortunately some moron rear-ended me at a stop light on Cowell Road and destroyed it. I had it towed over to your garage where service department went over it and gave me bad news it was totalled. What really stands out in my mind is that you allowed me to keep the bike there for 2 months before insurance company finally came for the bike. I really appreciate you accommodating me in this manner. Now if can only convince me wife to let me get a replacement for that poor departed Grom. Maybe shes right saying Im luck to escape that kind of accident with no injuries. Bottom line is I think you guys run a great shop there. Oh and I have a collection of vintage Honda Mini Trails. One of which needs a new top end, so youll be hearing from me really soon. Regards, Paul

The service was great while I was there filling out the paperwork. However, if buying a used bike I would suggest asking to have another mechanic check it over. I picked up a 2007 ZZR600 from them last year. Bike has run great, however I was doing my own prep work for the new session and had a dead cylinder. When I took the plugs out I noticed rust from a blown head gasket. So during their inspection they did not check the plugs to see what was needed for service before selling to a customer. Now I have a bike that needs the engine rebuilt thats going to cost me half the price I paid for it.

"5 starts out of 5 stars. Fantastic customer assistance. I did not purchase my motorcycle here all though i wish i did. They have much better deals. I rebuilt my bike from the frame up and was helped out tremendously with the wisdom of Brian in service and Sam from parts. I called them and ordered parts probably over 50 different times within 6 months since i was a again determining what parts were broken or not. The entire team helped me tremendously. I cant remember everyones name but there were several others in service and parts who helped me out. Best place ever."

I bought a 2012 GL1800 from Lance before CCP moved to their current location. I sold that 2012 GL1800 back to CCP and Lance in 2014 when my triplets were born. I bought a 2015 Ctx700N from Lance and Rob last year. There are many choices of dealers around the bay area to choose from but I take my business to Lance and Rob because they know what it takes to earn your business and repeat business. They work hard to help find that perfect bike for you at that perfect price you want to pay. They have always gone above and beyond for me. Thanks guys.

They contacted me through Craigslist letting me know they buy bikes. Figured since December is a bad time to sell a motorcycle Ill take a bit of a hit on it to get rid of it fast. They came and picked up on time and as scheduled. The only issue came about when we were unable to reach a reasonable agreement on price. I had to call about 10 times to get my bike back as they made no effort to contact me to return it and even failed to return it on a few occasions when I called and a time was agreed on. However understand this as they are a business.

Warranty Recall Inspection/Repair 2012 Suzuki V-Strom DL650A Everything went very smoothly. Although my bike passed the inspection and did not require the warranty repair/replacement work I was impressed that this dealership ordered the repair kits/ keep them in stock. Other shops in the Bay Area had longer wait times & also would have to order the repair kits only if needed. Overall everyone was very friendly & parts department (Mauricio) very helpful. I live in SF and feel that it was worth riding the 35+ miles to this dealership.

Nelson is fabulous . Lance was awesome to work with and they also have a awesome group of guys in the parts and accessories department to get you all your gear that you will need to be on your way. We live two minutes from Tracy motorsports and Contra Costa Powersports is at least a 45 minute drive with no traffic but I will take a Thanksgiving holiday weekend traffic to go to Contra Costa Powersports its worth the drive their team is excellent. Remember a family that rides together , stays together . Braaaap
