Excellent coffee and a wondrous selection of pastries! (4/5 green stars) It was definitely worth stopping in Cloverdale to see the town (and its quirky artwork) and visit Plank coffee. In terms of design, it’s one of the nicest coffee shops I’ve ever come across. Great light and a good mix of seating from the large communal table to the big armchairs. I had a Guatemala Huehuetenango pour-over (you heard me!) – reasonably priced at $3.25 and very nicely roasted & brewed. They now roast their own beans, with 10 oz bags for sale at $13-14. I also had a piece of their Hungarian shortbread ($2) and having made my own at home (and thinking it was good) I can say that theirs was exceptionally good! I was shocked to hear that it’s also gluten-free – a local baker makes it using their special rice flour mix. They have a great selection of pies and pastries with several vegan and gluten-free options. I’m wavering between 4 and 5 “green stars” for social and environmental impact, based on these reasons: • I believe that their coffee and teas are organic. • Having said that, I’d like to know more about their coffee – I forgot to ask and now can’t find any info online. I think that some bags are labeled as organic and some not. Not sure about trade practice. Hope to learn more! • They stock organic almond and soy milk. • Some vegan-friendly pastries. • They now roast their own coffee in restored roaster and package it in compostable (I think) bags. • I like that as an alternative to soda they sell a “Shrub of the Week”, made from local produce. Great idea! • Their amazing décor is largely from salvaged (communal table), vintage (armchairs) or locally-sourced (their wooden wall) materials. • Lids not compostable – anyway, bring your own mug! Love this coffeehouse treasure in the heart of old downtown Cloverdale, so delighted there is a hip little spot to have a great coffee, latte, or a pot of tea. Also exceptional baked in-house vegan, gluten free, organic yummy muffins, coffeecake, scones, cookies, little brownies, granola, and an excellent quiche. The ambiance inside and out is reclaimed, recycled, creative furnishings and storefront exterior, they didnt miss a beat. Only suggestion is a couple more little tables with umbrellas outside would be great. Make sure to checkout their super cool eclectic design shop next door, 14 feet. Three cheers to the friendly, unique, warm, artsy staff, and of course the very sweet owners.

CINNABANG!!! By far one of my favorite coffee drinks to date. I love it hot or iced. The folks behind the counter are always super friendly & helpful. Tasty treats available through out the day. I highly recommend the vegan chocolate cake, you wontn be disappointed. Im not vegan, but its a fantastic slice of cake to enjoy on a hot or cold day. Nice environment inside & outside. The specials are also a fun tasty treat if I ever want to veer from my usual (which is rare). Yes, its more expensive than Starbucks, but the taste & quality are worth it.

We stayed in Cloverdale two nights, and came by Plank the first morning to give it a try. We loved it and didnt think twice about coming back on morning #2. The baked goods are excellent, and the coffee/tea are good too. The service shines, and all the folks working the counter helped with details on the baked goods. The seating is relaxed with small tables or semi-private cushy seating. Ill go a third time when I drive through Cloverdale again

My Gallery is right across the street from Plank Coffee and I visit there at least three times a week. They have great coffee drinks and Teas that Ive never even heard of. Their vegan and organic baked goods are absolutely delicious. The mood is very mellow and friendly. The outdoor seating under the umbrellas on the "Boulevard" is a great way to relax and just enjoy life.

Extensive tea choices. Lattes are excellent. Caring, efficient, friendly staff. Owners accurate in their customers wants. Wonderful ambiance, comfortable and clean, indoor and outdoor seating. Pastries fresh and excellent. Hot weather? MUST try their Arnold Planker or Big Red ice tea drink: Tastes like an upscale cocktail from that hotshot town south of us .

Great coffee, extensive tea selection, excellent service, great ambiance. The housemade shrub beverage is the best Ive had. The baked goods are incredible, great selection, vegan and gluten free included. You will enjoy the time you spend here, and the service alone will ensure that you leave smiling.

I did not try the coffee but I noticed the unique decor on the outside of the building which features planks of various types of aged wood in an artsy sort of arrangement. The small shop was busy inside and displayed several nice looking muffins and pastry in their various cases.

Nice place. Good pastries and coffee creations. Hours are a bit early, but I like a coffee in the evening and if you do too, this aint the joint for you. The staff constantly reminded us and others between 5:30 and closing that they were closing soon. Other than that four stars.

I dont write reviews. I expect people to do what they say they will, thats what having a job is all about. But these guys deserve recognition for delivering a premium product and absolutely crushing the customer service aspect. This is the best coffee shop Ive ever been to.

The real deal people!!! You want to come here! Organic, grass fed, pastured milk for your latte is not an option, thats just the way it is! The syrups are all made in house, so are the delicious baked goods. The baristas are kind and knowledgeable. You want to be here!

Enjoyed very much the delicious homemade pumpkin spice latte, cosy on the coach while browsing faster than ever connected to the Wifi. The staff was very nice and apparently always trying to improve their recipes, as I was there they were discussing a new muffin idea.

I start the day at Plank. Its all true. Great scone, muffins (and more), an iced Arnold Planker (perfect for summer), and most importantly cool friendly staff. Its mellow and quiet early. And warm and bustling later. My go-to place.

The Chai is delicious. As is the Cinnabang and Bangkok over ice. Tasty pastries and a few gluten free options as well. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Prices on par, taste is above the local chain.
