A model of the "second R": Recycle? Yes. Reuse? So much the better! Its used timber (straight-grain fir) and raised-panel doors (with classic patina) are better quality than Id find in professional supply houses, at a fifth the cost. Im sitting in a home office, with "finds" including two desks; two metal filing cabinets; an oak filing cabinet; and classic wooden "office" chairs which provide the most ergonomic seating Ive ever had. Urban Ore French doors (to a balcony with UO chairs); a steel warehouse ladder leading to the roof; bookcases; a dovetail-jointed maple chest; even a leather briefcase; you get the idea. Craftsman stuff that leaves the shopping malls pouting with unsold Coca-Cola. Some of the best things need repair. Briefcase needed one D-ring (handle anchor); two of the chairs needed caning; one desk needed a wheel. You revive something in an hour that will now outlive you. Ideals, optional. These things are valuable and fun.

I was a fan of this place because of the nature of what they do, and like using a place like this original doors instead of buying new ones etc. That is until I ran into the need for customer service. Long story short I ended up returning 3 Doors plus giving them 2 other old doors in good shape after their 2 week return policy, as there was no way for me to return them before then. Instead of listening to my situation or even attempting to consider it they (Eddie and Arnold) flatly refused to give me any refund or even a store credit, instead trying to tell me how customer service works. It definitely does not work like this. So assume anything you buy cant be returned, if it doesnt fit which in many of these cases with used stuff it wont. Try Omega Salvage instead.

A Great Resource for any homeowner/remodeler. They are much more flexible than ReStore/Habitat for Humanity when it comes to donations. ReStore insists on like new conditions and for building materials like tiles they want some minimum quantities, e.g. 2 full boxes. Instead of taking the leftover from your projects to the dump, give Urban Ore a try. As a FYI, they charge a $5 drop-off fee for toilets. Still it is cost effective and ecologically sound. As a result, if you are looking for a tank cover of a toilet, this is a good place to look. If you are buying, this place looks like the Alibaba cave so be prepare to spend some time there.

Urban Ore is a fantastic resource for the entire community. All kinds of things can be found... Old fixtures like lamps, chandeliers, faucets, bath tubs, cabinets, even entire doors, and windows in the frames that have been recycled from demolished properties can be found here, allowing one to restore any home. Then you have all the books, rugs, electronics, instruments, kitchen utensils, and odd bric a brac to round out the Urban Ore experience !! Five Gold Stars "****" !

Good place for something that you not able to find in the store. Something cheap and old. I like this place because good prices for all these crap. I bought 2 marble slabs for $15. They accept credit/debit cards which is really nice! Just bring with you gloves! I recommend this place for something that you do not want to spend so much money, books, cases, tables, doors, even creches.

Huge junkyard full of totally random items, oddly organized, which makes it hard to find what you need. I wish the prices reflect that you also have to spend a long time to find things, but everything here seems a bit overpriced. It is also quite dusty in here and it always make me sniffle when I go in. Its not all bad. As some have said, you can find treasures here.

I have NEVER been to such a wonderland of STUFF. If you have a creative itch this place will scratch it! Do not go forward with any home project without going here first! The customer service could use some fine tuning but other than that its my new favorite place!

Great for building supplies or junk-sculptures but forget trying to get housewares like dishes or glasses. The good housewares probably get snapped up immediately so all thats left is unappealing. I appreciate the "end the age of waste" message though!

This is a great warehouse for finds. The prices are very reasonable and if there isnt a stickered price they will give you a good one at the register. You have to spend at least an hour to really go through things properly.

Really cool place that has lots of junk in it. If youre looking to find weird things to buy for your home, or broken electronics that you want to fix up, then its great. If youre looking for cleanliness, better steer clear.

Few places like Urban Ore still exist. Ive donated old building supplies with complete confidence that if anyone can find them a new home, these guys can. Ive also found a few gems in the regular showroom.

Fantastic place to look for treasures. Everything from bathroom fixtures and kitchen equipment to rugs and sports gear. Wonderful place to look for the thing you didnt know you wanted untill you saw it

Unique place! (even if it does smell like cat pee). Great place to find mismatched tables, chairs, furniture, supplies for your art project. Prices tend to be on the high side for thrift stores.

Very interesting place to walk around but if you want to really buy something worth it you have to spend your time searching for hidden gems. Definitely belongs in Berkeley.

This place is a bit too pricey. I expected to get a better deal for the items I came away with. I will try another place that was mentioned by one of the other reviewers.

This place is a complete rip-off. You can get a lot of the stuff they have there for the same price new and their new staff have way too much attitude to deal with.

Total rip off for buyers. This place is making a killing off of others trash. Great idea and all but I dont think they need to make such a profit.

Better than average thrift store. Decent prices. Workers were busy even on a Sunday evening.
