Safeway, once the model of a quality grocery chain, is falling apart. This morning there was whole milk on the shelf with a sell-by date of July 4. Nothing later than July 14. Today is July 13. All 2% milk was gone. In the past two months Ive tried to go to Safeway when there will not be long lines at check out. I wind up in lines anyway. Sometimes I dont have time to waste, so I just leave my cart and go. I dont have much alternative since Raleys is several miles away and Safeway in two blocks away.

Probably the worst Supermarket Ive ever been to. The lines are always 5 - 15 people long with only two to three tellers open. You can always at least 15 minutes on line before you can check out. Theres something about Staffing this Benicia store appropriately. People will see the line and typically walk right out the store. While there are a few pleasant employees, most of the time the employees who are checking you out are miserable and look like they hate their job. I wish we had a HEB!!!

The manager should be ashamed. The last few times I was here, there was ice build up in the ice cream section. And not just ice around the vents, but stalactites and stalagmites because the ice had melted and refrozen. The most recent time, some of the doors wouldnt close on their own.

I went to the bakery 15 minutes before it closed and it was empty. Another employee said the bakery employee left early even though it was advertised that it was supposed to be open. After finally getting someone else to help me, I had to wait in a huge line.

Checkers dont respond to lines, lines go into the aisles blocking the path. It always takes 15 minutes to buy one thing. Cashiers call for help and no one comes. Come on Safeway!

This safeway always always always has a line. There is always too few checkers and it dosent have self check out. The local Raleys is just better

Not my neighborhood store but this 1 is very busy, newer & more store look good staff than customer focused smile n acknowlege

This Safeway has a nice deli and the lines werent too long. The AFC sushi lady was super mice and helpful.

Your trip is short

This store is constantly understaffed. It is a mess. The lines are ridiculous. Get your act together.
