Ottos is a friendly Bakersfield game store that is half videogames, and half real-time strategy games with physical figures and table top sets. It is not local for me, but I go there whenever I make it up to Bakersfield, which is once or twice a year. They have a fair selection of newer games from the Xbox 360 on up, however their retro selection could be much, much better. I get the feeling that they dont care too much about retro gaming, as their selection is small and the cartridges look tired and worn out. It also never seems to change. Some of these games are quite old and their overall presentation on the shelf leaves much to be desired. I always like buying from independents, but this store seems a bit more focused on table top gaming than videogaming.

The great thing about this shop is that it does a great job of catering to all the different types of game played. Card games, board games, video games, and tabeltop alike. Staff has a great knowledge of ALL products, and they are very friendly. They wont ignore you just to focus on a single thing. Even the worker running the events will take time to help the customer. This shop does it right. Great location so that you may get food close at hand during your visit and even having cheap drinks and snacks on site for you! An all around great balance :)

These guys are great if youre a nerd looking to buy or play everything from card games to tabletop miniature war games and video games. They also cater to people who want to meet and play, as there are usually people playing board games, Magic, D&D, or Warhammer 40k on their tables. Theres also a good selection of video games and consoles you can game on in the back room, but Ive never tried them out. Customer service is great as well, the staff are all up to speed on most of what they carry and can talk mechanics on a lot of it.

Ottos is the name of the store as well as the name of the man behind the counter. I love how Otto personally invests himself in the business every day. He provides good and friendly advice about almost any game you have questions on, and he has a lot of gaming experience to back it up. I find his establishment to be extremely fun and welcoming and recommend it to all my friends.

The staff is always really patient and will explain any games you have questions about. Their prices are acceptable and the selection is great. The whole atmosphere of the store is pleasant and the place is kept clean and tidy. Ive preordered games from them and they give regular updates as to the current status of your order. Overall, the place is great.

Epic, awesome, amazing. None of these do OTTOS justice! The shop has had world records made their. Those that have just given up on GameStop ever doing the right thing, have realized how honest and nice Otto and his staff are, and they have never gone back to the evil place. Long Live Ottos!

The help I have received on various topics including board games, Kickstarters, and painting in this store has been amazing. I would not recommend anywhere else for your board game needs, whether you want to hang out and play here, or pre-order the next big box of joy you intend to play.

Awesome place. I love the atmosphere and the staff are helpful and welcoming. I had taken my son (7) and I bought him an hours worth of video game time and ended up playing with the owners son. I love the fact that you can sit and play any board or card game they have for demo.

I wish this town had more places to offer like ottos. An excellent place to just chill with your friends and have fun. The store has tons of really fun stuff, video games for rent, new hobbies on display and a very very helpful and passionate owner.

I cant think of a single bad thing about ottos. They have lots of all types of games they are friendly, and all ways willing to lend a hand. I have gotton many favorite boardgames from there. They even have a rack of games that you can play for free

Kool place, Im not a huge gamer and isnt really into the card games and board games. But the staff is helpful and they have a pretty good variety of games. A little pricey tho on the vintage stuff like Super Nintendo and N64 games.

Ottos store has an awesome balance of video games, board games, roleplaying games, and miniatures games. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Its clean and inviting. I defiantly recommend this place to all game enthusiasts.

Im not from the area but, this place is great! They hooked me up with an AV cable for my Supr Nes, free of charge. It may not be a big deal but, now a days, who does stuff like that for their costumers!
