You dont go to IA to buy ink - You go to buy art. From the moment you walk in, you know that this is not your cookie cutter tattoo shop. First, while they do have those flash art folders that you are used to seeing in EVERY tattoo shop on the planet, they are hidden well, and for good reason. These guys dont want you to have the same butterfly tattoo or human skull that the previous 15 people received. They want to make sure that your tattoo is exactly what it should be - a representation of YOU. The work that is displayed is the artists original art and IA has made a brilliant decision in having Brandons and Jinxs artwork right in your face the moment you step through the door. While EVERY artist at IA is exceptional, I admit that I have a very special place in my heart for Jinx and Brandon. Both are very talented artists and, almost as important, are really cool people to just sit and chat with. While most tattoo artists carry around a very high opinion of themselves and think that improvement is impossible, Brandon and Jinx, as well as most of the other IA artists, are constantly trying to push themselves to achieve perfection, and are humble enough to realize that perfection is a lifelong journey. On their quest, they have accomplished something very special - EVERY tattoo that they undergo winds up being even better than the one before it. Personally, I have now spent at least 24 hours in the chair, and now have half sleeves on each arm. Each and every tattoo has been done by Brandon and each and every tattoo is better than the one before it. This is a wonderful business plan since it drives me to get more work done, just so I can be blown away again. The IA process is something else that is wonderful and really shows their comittment to their art. Here is how it works (or has so far) - You go in and have a consultation with an artist. Between the two of you, a concept is decided on, and you will be putting down a deposit. Now, I know that some may scream foul at the thought of a deposit, but this serves a couple of functions. First, they will know that this isnt a bad decision that you are making just because you are sublimely in love this week or filled with rage. I mean, cmon, this is going to be on you for the rest of your life! This bad decision could last forever. It should definitely be something that you think about. Another function of the deposit is that the artist doesnt just sit down and rush through a piece just to get to the next one. You know that you will have a very talented artist working on a piece of art for you. Generally, they spend about a week considering your piece, going through a few rough sketches, and finally perfecting the concept. Once this is complete, its onto the actual tattoo process. Speaking of Brandon, I can tell you that he has a very steady hand and completely submerses himself in his work. Still, during this supreme act of concentration, Brandon always finds time to make small talk. Im not too ashamed to admit that distraction makes it hurt a little less, and, personally, I am always for something that makes it hurts less! My pieces have been big, detailed, time consuming pieces, so I am generally in the chair for about 3-4 hours per session. This brings me to the next great thing which is that Brandon knows your skins limits. He isnt going to spend 8 hours on irratated skin just so that he doesnt have to see you again. He will take as many sessions as it needs to get it done right. Its very cool that he cares just as much about your happiness with your tattoo as you do, and he is willing to do what it takes. Finally, there is the after care. After time, tattoos, no matter how wonderfully done, fade. IA is there to back up their work and they tend to the touch ups. Together, all of this doesnt just add up to a good tattoo shop - it adds up to a lifelong addiction and I will gladly admit that I will attend Inkaholics Anonymous for as long as they are willing to take me. Thanks guys, you are the best!

My first experience here in November was excellent (and my first tattoo!) The place is super clean, the staff is very friendly, and they really care about what theyre putting on/in your body (they do piercings too). I never felt rushed or like a number. Nobody has ever made me feel self conscious or unreasonable in my requests. But I feel totally comfortable in my artist and trust him to give me feedback if he thinks something isnt the best idea and has a better idea. The shop itself is super laid-back and chill. It feels like a second home to me. Always music playing and people to talk to, or not talk to, as everyone is totally comfortable with whatever level of communication you need to be at ease. I find myself wanting more ink, not only because the work itself is great but because the people and the atmosphere are really welcoming. I had such a great experience, I came back for Colton to do a 4.5 hour piece that I absolutely love. Great quality work, great people. He went out of his way to get me in and made sure I was comfortable the whole time. They communicate well and are super flexible. Not just the artists but the girl helping out at the register, she was rad and a pleasure to talk to during my piece as well. Seriously, everyones great. I really cant say enough good things and I will be back again in November!

I came here after searching online for a traditional tattoo artist in Tucson. Every interaction I have had with anyone there has been really positive and helpful. I have gotten tattoos for the last 10 years and this shop is the most welcoming and friendly I have ever been to (out of three different states, too!) I got to talk to Kev Bee about my teacher sleeve and he was super receptive to my idea. We set up a time and he got my1/8 sleeve done in about 3 hours! I couldnt have been happier with the results. He is a hardworker, we got to talk about our kids, and he even played along while I was reading a choose your own adventure book during my tattoo. The other artists that I met while there were very nice and approachable as well. The receptionist was also very kind and welcoming. The shop itself is clean and I couldnt have had a better experience. I plan to continue to go here for all my tattooing needs in the future. They even called me a few weeks after my tattoo to check up on me and see if I had any questions. Their attitude and approach to their customers is unique in their field with so many other artists being a bit stuck up and holier than thou. My students love my tattoo and the style, placement, color, and details are exactly what I wanted.

I just got my third tattoo at Inkaholics by Jinx earlier today, and I cant be happier with the quality of the work!!! The shop itself was very professional, tidy, and clean, and I was immediately greeted with smiles upon entering. Theres music and a television for those that are waiting or getting worked on. Its definitely a very friendly and relaxed atmosphere. As for my tattoo, Jinx did an excellent job! I had an image and Chinese characters that I wanted tattooed together, and Jessa, Jinxs apprentice, did an amazing job juxtaposing the two. Jinx definitely took time and care in the minute details of my tattoo, and the quality of his work really shines through in the final result! He then gave me very detailed instructions on how to take care of my healing tattoo! I also had a great conversation with Jessa while I was getting worked on. She is an extraordinary artist with a love for painting insects! Definitely check out her work! Overall, I am completely satisfied with my tattoo from Inkaholics. I HIGHLY recommend Inkaholics, and I also highly recommend Jinx! Ive definitely found my tattooist and my shop here in Tucson!
