WOULD RATHER STICK A HOT POKER IN MY EYE than have to deal with Merrell and his shop ever again! The bride asked all her bridesmaids to order their dresses online from The Bridal Shop (because we are scattered all over the northeast). We each chose a dress and ordered it on May 1, 2011 so we could get them by August for any adjustments before an October 8th wedding. They "guarantee" the dresses within 14 weeks, but our dresses were listed as 12 week orders. So even after 15 weeks when we still hadnt heard anything, we each called and were told that we would have the dresses by the next week. Well, they never came, so we called back and were told to wait another week...still no dresses. After waiting another week, I finally called and asked for a tracking number so I could be sure I knew where my dress was and was told, "we never put in the order so it was never made"! I had been charged for the dress and LIED to that it was "on its way" THREE TIMES, when it was never ordered, and I never would have known if I hadnt continued to call and inquire. At this point, we were 7 weeks away from the wedding date and even a rush order was a long shot. After complaining, Merrell said he would put in a rush order, but still charge us the extra fee. Then Merrell called back and REFUSED, in a very rude voice mail that he wasnt going to bother with a rush order for our dresses, it wasnt his problem. Not once did he take any responsibility for HIS mistakes in this process; he blamed me for not paying (I have the confirmation emails and statements that show his charges), the website, because a split payment "shouldnt have been an option on that dress" (well whos website is it????), The poor bride tries to call the manufacturer of the dresses to see what they can do, and she was WONDERFUL! She put a rush order in for us herself (NO MERRELL INVOLVED!) and we learned they have always had trouble working with him. After learning that the finished dresses would still have to go through Merrell, we called and requested overnight shipping (the least he could do at this point) and again he laughed and refused. This man has delayed 2 dresses, lost 1 and never ordered 2 others. Without the cooperation of the manufacturer, we would never have gotten these dresses. They came in 3 days ago (1 week to spare before the wedding!) If you want to take the chance that you or your bridesmaids and flower girls will never get their dresses, or if they do, it will be AFTER the wedding...this is the place to go! In the words of Merrell, "GOOD LUCK!" And if you dont put alot of stock in other peoples rating, check his ratings through the NY Better Business Bureau (theres a reason its not listed on his site). If we can save even 1 bride from being put through this hell, weve done our job!

Merrell is an irresponsible and intimidating liar. Get everything in writing!!! Back in the fall, when I ordered my dress, I asked whether the jacket that was made for the dress was an extra charge. Merrell said of course the jacket was included at no extra charge. I couldnt imagine a company giving away a jacket for free so I questioned him again. Merrell was brusque and acted offended that I would question him, but he said the jacket would come in with the dress, so I let it go and figured he knows his own business. When the dress came in, of course there was no jacket. At first Merrell told me there was no matching jacket and acted like I was crazy. When I showed him the picture on the manfacturers website, he quickly back-pedaled and said that yes, there was a jacket and he would sell it to me for $150. Not our original agreement, but I foolishly conducted all our transactions by phone! Adding insult to injury, Merrell berated me for not seeing the pricing of the jacket on one of his websites. I politely reminded him that I was not aware of this website as we had only done business over the phone, but I would think about the jacket. He would not even sell it at cost. My further inquiries regarding the lead time of the jacket were completely ignored. I guess Merrell got his $800 out of me so he wouldnt care too much about $150 more! I am now having a seamstress make me a jacket for the same price and I would gladly pay someone I trust rather than that cheater! Because honesty and professionalism is critical in any business, I recommend to everyone considering The Bridal Shop to STAY AWAY!!!! If you have to use Merrell or are already in the middle of a transaction with him, get it in writing. Youll be glad you did!

This facility is the most unprofessional bridal shop I could have ever walked into. The girl who runs the shop Samantha is for lack of a better term and air head. When I first had walked in wanting to try on dresses she insisted on pulling dresses that I had no desire looking at yet trying on. She did not seem very aware of what I was asking for and was very hesitant to let me look through the shop. Eventually Maria showed up and I couldnt be more thankful for her. Maria not only found me my perfect dress but did all the alterations and turned my simple dress into the perfect wedding gown. The transformation is truly unbelievable. And the price was unbeatable. I came to the shop 5 or 6 times and Samantha never remembered who I was. Her customer services skills are horrid. We had appointment set for 2:30 and she arrived around an hour later on multiple occasions. She constantly talk about her relationship and how unstatsfied she is, when wedding dress shopping should be light hearted and A positive event. Lastly but not least she felt the need to text me at 1 am in the morning to schedule appointments and to talk about payment.... even though the dress had been paid completely up front. So overall I am beyond happy with the out come of my dress thanks to Maria, this facility is nothing without her, she is the heart of this company. Thank you Maria for all the hard work!

I ordered my dress in early January, with an expected wear date of July 12. I was told it would come in early May. I have called them several times since early May and they keep on telling me that it will come in next week. They even lied a few times and said it has already shipped. I have less than 6 weeks until my wedding, and its looking like I wont get my dress until at least mid-next week....as this is a destination wedding, this leaves me less than 4 weeks to get my dress altered. The saleslady was well aware that I needed alterations to this dress. I feel cheated, and will have to buy an in-stock or ready-to-wear dress from another vendor if this one doesnt come in by next week! Furthermore, the contract we signed says that they will deliver the dress by the wear date, meaning that they can get it to me by July 11 and not be in breach of the contract. We were too excited when we found the dress to notice this detail. I am not sure we will have any recourse with our credit card company if we dispute the charge due to this clause. Buyer beware! They may seem nice, but they dont treat their customers right once the order has been placed.
