They diagnosed my computer with a bad motherboard. The solution was for me to buy a new computer bring it to them and they would transfer all data on my hard drive to the new computer .I especially emphasized all of our family pictures. 3 weeks later i got my new computer back. Prior to work being done the shop owner proposed that he would not charge me for the transfer of data which was $80, if he could keep my broken computer. i said let me think about it. 3 weeks later when i picked up my computer when i asked what i owed he said nothing i kept your other computer. This disturbed me but i did not make a fuss at the time. Upon inspecting my new computer i noticed over half of our family pictures missing years 2007-2011(pictures of my children growing up) and numerous documents. I immediately called and asked for my old computer and mainly the hard drive, which they informed me they had sent the hard drive out to be scrapped. i asked them why would they scrap a customers hard drive before they confirm all data was transferd. that to me is absolute disregard for someones personal and business life both of which most people store on their computers. Finally they tried to change their story and say the hard drive was bad but didnt have the paperwork to prove it. Even so i could of taken my hard drive to a data recovery specialists. Not these clowns! Please do yourself a favor and use anyone but them!

I brought my laptop here after being treated poorly at another computer shop and this place turned out to be worse! The laptop was already diagnosed with a corrupted operating system, when I told it to the owner, Joe, he told me "there is no such thing as a corrupted operating system and we do not base repairs on diagnostics from other companies". He diagnoses the issue as a bad motherboard and wants to re-solder some of my capacitors. When I say that I dont believe him he flips out on me and wants to bill me for his time since he took apart the case even though the sign on the door says "free diagnostic". He never told me that the diagnostic ended when he started opening the case and I really didnt believe him and he was opening the case to "show me" how the motherboard was bad. So long story to short, I left, took it to a third computer shop who did fix the corrupted operating system (they explained that is a generic term not something specific...nonetheless, they fixed it) and it works fine, in fact Im leaving this negative review on the very laptop that Dos Boot misdiagnosed as having a bad motherboard (thanks Joe, its been working fine for 2 weeks now). I hate leaving negative feedbacks but its the owner of the company, not an employee thats a problem. Learn to treat your customers and potential customers nicer.

I purchased a new computer several months ago and paid someone to come to my home to set it up, switch my files, etc. When the job was "complete", I could not access my home business files and had nothing but trouble. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didnt. There were times I couldnt download, find files, print, sometimes even the monitor wouldnt turn on. I was in contact numerous times with the person who set it up and he would recommend all sorts of things for me to do and told me that my business file had been "damaged" beyond repair. He also said that I just needed to learn windows 8. Finally, at my wits end I called Joe at Dos Boot in Queen Creek, whose shop I had seen in passing. He was encouraging on the phone and told me to bring it right down as he moves business computers to the front of the line. I did and the next day it was ready to be picked up. He had removed spyware and some other stuff that didnt belong, he set up the proper security AND corrected the problem with my business program which now is perfectly fine! The computer runs great. I am so grateful this headache is over and that Joe is there should I need him in the future.

After having two back to back bad experiences with Dos-Boot I dont know how other people have had good experiences. I dropped off my laptop to have it worked on (bad hard drive), the price was okay and I couldnt find anyone else here in Queen Creek to work on it. I was told it should take a day or so and Id get a call back. Three or four days passed and I was at The Deli eating lunch so I stopped in to check on my laptop, as I walked in the owner was yelling (YES, yelling) at a customer about why his computer problems were his fault and not Dos-Boots. If I had not already had my computer there I would have walked right out. I waited for him to finish yelling at the guy and asked about my laptop. I was told it should be done in a day or two (same thing I heard 3-4 days ago), I said okay, Ill call back tomorrow. I called the next day and it was ready, so I picked it up. After I got back with it I have had nothing but problems with it, missing drivers, missing documents. Every time I have spoken with Dos-Boot everything is my fault...I see a patern here...avoid!

I do not know Joe personally nor his wife or his son but I do know that he is a wonderful person! My grandson Anthony is autistic and he literally lives on his computer. And from time to time his device gets terribly infected and shuts down. With two other special needs children in the family theres not much of a budget for computers so over the years weve put together and pieced together desktops and laptops for Anthony. The last time his computer crashed my daughter found Joe. When she explained why it was so important for her to get this desktop repaired Joe built my grandson a New to us computer at no charge and has offered to repair the ones that we have stacked up in the house as we need them at no charge. So I just would like to say God bless you Joe your wife your son and your business! Your kindness has really made a difference Anthonys computer works well and he is happy! I live in Prescott and the next time I get to the valley Im going to visit your shop and thank you in person! Will Maloney

I have been dealing with DOS Boot Computers since moving to Arizona in 2009 from Hawaii. I am very computer illiterate and did not know what I was going to do if I needed computer repair. I happened to read an article Tara, wife of the owner, wrote in a local paper about computer maintenance. Included was the telephone number and location of the shop. Joe, the owner, has more knowledge in his little finger than most people do. He is always trying to educate his customers on proper computer maintenance of their devices so that they will prolong their life and not have to be brought in for repair as often. There are times when Joe has spent a great deal of time working on my computer and refused payment. I frequently have to force him to at least buy him lunch. Joe is one of the most honest and ethical businessmen that I have ever dealt with. I highly recommend him. Computer problems? See Joe at Dos Boot Computers. M Branley
