CURRENT REVIEW: I feel like Baiz has taken some of my advice. The meat has been cleaner and fresher. Jazakullah khair. REVIEW FROM MAY 10, 2010 Groceries here are fine. The produce, thats fine. Frozen prepackaged burger patties, hot dog, all fine too. BUT THE MEAT DEPARTMENT. Huge problem here. Baiz market makes an effort to supply a variety of meats and cuts for those looking for Zabiha Halaal meat in the phoenix area. And yes, they are a step above other stores that I have visited (all in the glendale area) because their supply is fresh and not frozen. HERE is the issue. Every SINGLE time, and I mean without fail, a portion of the meat that I purchase from them, goes bad. It gets even worse with the chicken. I have purchased large quantities of chicken from them to prepare meals for special events at school, and every single time, there are close to rotting, if not ROTTING, pieces of chicken in my batch. Its absolutely disgusting. When you say, the meats going bad, thats exactly what it means people, that it is beginning to rot. I am so sick and tired of them for that reason. Why is it no one in phoenix can do it right? Im from chicago, and I have never had an issue with bad meat, at either an indian/pakistani owned store, or (especially) Arab owned store. Also, this is not just an issue that ive faced, I have many friends here from chicago that go to school with me. All of us are constantly on the lookout of zabiha meat stores. Each of them have tried Baiz, and EACH of them have had the exact same experiences. Please owners of Baiz, if you are reading this, revamp your butchery and figure out a way to make sure the meat and poultry is stored in a clean extra cold environment. People rely on you to supply Halaal meat to feed their families and friends. You should be concerned about this, and for the sake of our Creator, make the effort to address it.

I hardly ever review businesses, but Baiz Market deserves that I take a minute and give this family a HUGE CREDIT for all the hard work they do to provide us, the Muslim community, with HALAL Meats! Ive been in US for over 15 years and I had to almost become vegetarian because I always doubted about stores selling HALAL stuff until Baiz Market opened and Ive been shopping there since then. Im certain, but million percent sure that all meats at the store are HALAL! Ive not only seen pictures but also videos that shows how the owner himself is slaughtering the animals! I wish the owners can publicly post these pictures and videos! For those haters that are spreading false information about this place and the owners, please if you really care about meats being HALAL, be a real Muslim first, act like one, and wish your Muslim brother all the good. A real Muslim will never spread false rumors about his Muslim brother & will never hurt him! I just got my lamb Qurbani order today, with my name tag attached on it. it was very fresh and the butcher cut it and packaged it for me the way I wanted it to be! Cant be more happy or find any better than this! Be peaceful you people, and thank God that there is an honest place that can provide you with HALAL stuff!

I wanted to share my recent experience with Baiz Market regarding Qurbani. I had placed an order for Qurbani more than a week ago but for some reason had to cancel before Eid (yesterday 9/10/2016). When I asked for cancellation I was notified that the Qurbani has already been done and the meat will be available for pick up on Monday (9/12/2016) morning. I asked the Biaz Markets management how could they do Qurbanis /slaughter the animal, two days (Saturday (9/10/16) before Eid and the explanation offered to me was they did not wanted to be overwhelmed and hence they do some Qurbanis before Eid. I wanted all muslims to be aware of Baiz Market thought process and method of operation. Islam forbids Qurbanis to occur until after eid prayers and one is allowed to slaughter lamb/goat etc during the first 3 days of Eid. I will leave it to everyones judgement and decide whether or not you wish to use their service now or in the future for Qurbani after learning the facts.

Weve been going here for years. Its not a discount place, but has specialty items of many types. It has the best coffee and yogurt in Arizona, the best Arabic bread and other exotic items unique to this store. Meat products are good too. The staff are helpful and cooperative with customers. Its Halel for Islamic visitors (and this is very similar to Kosher, nearly identical, for Jewish customers who are curious). Theres a lunch section with prepared meals. As Christians who have traveled in the Middle East, its also a pleasant reminder of our travels there, as many Middle Eastern people shop there too. I recently used a shopping trip there with a young relative to explain ME culture, as he was able to see people in Hajibs, etc.

I love this place, I just wish I knew what a lot of the stuff is - I find fig preserves and pickled beets as close to what I remember as home made - I have tried the hummus and falafel bread here and it was awesome! I do buy a lot of my spices here also - The staff is friendly and helpful, those that speak English - I have a list of things that I purchase here, when Im in the neighborhood, but Im also always trying new things that I find there - I got a yellow watermelon there today, not so good, but Im use to disappointment in Arizona of watermelons - But, that will not deterr me from shopping there for the things I need - Good place to shop - Prices reasonable, staff friendly and helpful, natural foods -

The store its self is an good place but this low rate is because of the restraunt so yesterday they most of hired a new girl or something they two guys working there was not really taking peoples order instead they were flirting with this new girl asking her r u Arab and was like all over her this whole time waiting for my order so I went home opens something I ordered which was a fattosh salad it was not even fattosh i dont no what it was but it was the grossest salad I ate in my life. Never going to eat here again or my friends they had bad expiance yesterday also. If this keeps happening you all will loose alot of business if your men can not work and keep flirting

Chicken and all the regular stuff is popular here, but I made the trip for some lamb. And next time for some goat (Ive bought goat at the farmers markets but you dont see it at most grocery stores). Before I go next time Im making a list of wants, because even though its small, the unusual choices are overwhelming. I lingered over all the desserts and cheeses and spices and meats. But I left with just one jar of roasted eggplant because I couldnt decide! Also stopped in the restaurant and had lamb kebabs (very soft - softer than filet often is!) and tabbouleh.

I was in the area the other day and I was looking for somthing out of my normal. I stoped by here and was amazed to see how much diversity they had cramed into such a small store. The fresh made pita bread was fantastic. The lamb kabobs are worth the drive alone. They were served with hummis, several types of pickels, and rice that was long enough to be a pasta. All of the food was good. I also grabbed a few things from the bakery. Overall I was impressed.
