I have been frequenting Sun Devil Liquors for 13+ years, and never had a bad experience... until recently. Unfortunately, the store has taken a turn for the worse. The atmosphere of the place now has an unwelcoming feel to it, and many of the familiar employees are gone. The upstairs, retail section of the store has changed. In addition to the remodeling of the check-out counter, the store now sells glass pipes & other paraphernalia. It seems tacky to expand the inventory in such a manner. Furthermore, I noticed the beer coolers are in disarray. Almost all of the six-packs do not have price tags on them, nor do they have prices on their respective shelves. I had to ask the clerk five times to look up the prices. Additionally, the cost of everything seems to have gone up a lot. Seriously, almost $4 for a bag of ice is too much. Most importantly, Sun Devil Liquors have been selling outdated product on a regular basis. For instance, I recently bought a six-pack of Total Domination IPA, and it was so outdated that the beer was practically flat. Luckily, Ninkasi Brewing sent me a refund for the antiquated ale; although it was no fault of their own. I am saddened to see Sun Devil Liquors fall into such an abrupt decline. Quite frankly, the place has changed in a weird way. What was once a cool place, now has a creepy "Quickie-Mart" vibe to it.

Bought 2 kegs of beer and paid for delivery for my only daughters wedding. Day of delivery the guy that delivered them did not even make sure the taps for the kegs worked. One was Heineken and requires a special tap, needless to say I had to beg for them to bring out another tap. I also was given attitude after yes Ill admit I was upset due to what was happening. Needless to say by the time they got out to change the tap it was close to being over. They picked up a nearly full keg of Heineken the next day. Do you think I was compensated at all? Nope charged full price. I will never recommend this establishment to anyone nor be a repeat customer. Sorry I had to give one star...

This liquor store is incredible. When I pulled up, I had no idea what to expect. I walked in, went to the Iron Clad (a room full of beers I dare you to pronounce) and then walked around aisles full of beer (over 1,000 different bottles), vodka, gin, whiskey... they had everything you could want. Then we went downstairs... there is a bar downstairs! The bartender was friendly, they had beer samples 4 for $8, and a wide selection of rare bottles and wine. I could have walked around all day just looking at beer! It was one of the coolest things I have seen in a long time. I just wish it was closer to my place.

Cool concept, cool place and really cool staff. The entrance is like any ordinary liquor store except that the staircase takes you to a small wine cellar with a bar. Too cozy for you? Gear to the right and you will find a large area with couches and tables to hang out. Totally unexpected but so comfy and fun to hang out with. We showed up 30+ people deep and completely took over their downstairs place. The staff was super friendly and accommodating and the beer and wine selection was awesome. The restrooms were beyond huge but were only for 1 person at a time. Would definitely hang out there again.

My only regret was not coming here sooner! This place is truly amazing and the selection is out of this world. One of my favorite things about Sun Devil Liquars is the environment. It really has a welcoming feeling and the cellar downstairs has that “Cheers” kinda feeling to it. I have shopped at Bevmo but to me it has the “Wal-mart” feeling to it. All in all, Sun Devil Liquors is the number one place on my list to shop for beer, wine and liquor. Thanks guys for all the help too!!

Although not the cheapest place in town, definitely one of the finest selections. Wonderful underground wine cellar thats chilled to perfection. Spend hours getting lost in the variety and stop by the wine bar for a tasting. If you find something better, please let me know!...but I seriously doubt theres a better place in Mesa.

Stopped in to get some beer & wine. The price on the shelf for the michelob Amber Bock showed $12.99. At checkout when the gal rang it up it came up as $14.99. I told her that the price was marked as $12.99 in the cooler. She just blew me off & wouldnt even go look on the shelf!! Will NEVER patronize that place again!!!!

Went to get some beer, was looking for something new. They have a good selection but it is in NO order, the selection in worse and a little more expensive than Total Wine or something like that, plus total wine is organized. Save time, go somewhere else

They have a great selection of craft brews but there customer service is unbelievably terrible. I dont think there is a decent soul that works there. Its truly sad to see such a great place ran by a bunch of a**holes.

Best independent liquor store in the area.Beer World is up there too but for beer/ciders too but they dont have liquor nor are they as big. Either one though try a "Crispin Honey Cider" AMAZING on a hot day!

Amazing idea! Liquor store entrance and the downstairs theres a bar and wine cellar! Theres even a chill red couch area around the corner from the bar. A mush see for beer and wine fans of AZ!
