Received a coat that didnt fit as a gift. I took it in for an exchange (without receipt) in hopes that I could find something else. Although I didnt have the receipt, the price tags were still on the coat $49.99. I looked for the same coat in a different size, but they had none in stock in any size. So I decided to get other items of equal value. After waiting a while in line, I took my items to the counter for the exchange. The coat that I was bringing back was not in the system so the cashier called the manager. The very rude manager then proceeded to tell me that the price of the coat was $15.00! Clearly the price tags were marked at $49.99. I feel like this store ripped me off with this exchange for lesser value. I got $50 worth of clothes for $35, but they got $50 for the coat initially then bought it back for $15. And they will undoubtedly resale it....probably for $50! Now, Its not the amount of money behind this transaction, but my complaint centers around the principle of this shady business practice. Morever, the WORST PART OF THIS ENCOUNTER was not being ripped off, but it was the rude indifference that the manager had in the situation. I tried to explain my position to her, but she seemed to take pride in getting one over on me... Seriously. Needless to say, myself nor any member of my family will shop here in the future. And btw, I called the person who gave me the coat, and they did indeed pay $49.99

Im a big fan of this place. I have gotten some killer deals here. Its not just outdated stuff they sell; much of it can still be purchased in regular retail stores. They also have stuff that you wouldnt normally find in your region like handmade bags from India or handpainted pottery from Mexico for much better prices than youd find at a specialty store. The folks who work here are much nicer than the ones at their sister store, Marshalls. I can spend hours in here searching for stuff for my whole family.

Where else can you buy rugs, shoes, makeup, designer handbags, dog toys, clothing, home decor & specialty food products all at one place?! T.J. Maxx is a great place to just browse around with your mom.

Pretty impressed with the selection and the service here. The lady that rung me up was very kind. Got two high quality pairs of shorts for the price of one at a department store. You cant beat that.

I really like TJ Maxx great deals but the customer service sucks...not everyone that come into your store come for a five finger discount!! I.. for one spend a great deal of money in TJ Maxx..

T.J.Maxx has a great variety of clothes but it takes too long to find something. The clothes are sectioned off but you have to sifted through too many styles on the same rack.
