Ultimately what pushed me to try Batteries Plus Bulbs was that the price of the battery was very good, the battery quality was good (its a Duracell Battery - a trusted brand), and I knew that this had the potential of only taking 5 minutes (since my battery is easily accessible). I also wanted to take advantage of the 10% online discount which made my battery purchase slightly CHEAPER than Walmart or other budget options in the area. Free Installation! The Cheapest Price! High Quality Product! No long lines at a garage! Everything was going great until expectations met reality. ALL of my problems could have been avoided if the website were clear on WHEN a technician is available to install car batteries. The website reads: "Visit a local store for a FREE Battery Test and Systems Check - NO APPOINTMENT NEEDED. If you need a new battery, get FREE professional replacement battery installation, on most models at participating Batteries Plus Bulbs locations." After reading this I was under the impression that I could stop by any time ("no appointment needed") and they would be able to swap my old battery out and put in the replacement. As I later learned, NO APPOINTMENT NEEDED ONLY APPLIES BETWEEN 10 AM AND 6 PM! I arrived the BPB store at 7 PM. I pulled up next to the BPB Truck and while I was getting out of my car one of the workers opened the BPB truck and hit my car. I have an old car so I wasnt expecting anything other than an apology. He just pretended like it didnt happen and hoped I hadnt noticed. I DID notice and this event immediately lowered my opinion of him and BPB. I walked in the store slightly irritated from the parking lot episode and said Im here for the car battery I ordered online. The sales associate said "Its ready for you right here." He proceeded to check my information and print out a receipt. He did not ask me if I wanted him to install this new battery or if I had my old battery for them to recycle. So finally I decided to say "Youre going to install this one, right?" The sales associate seemed taken off guard and fumbled to say something along the lines of "I just thought you wanted to pick up a battery not have one installed. We only do installs during the day" I then said "So you want me to take this battery home and then come back tomorrow and then youll install it for me?" He responded, "Im all alone now because Jimmy (not his real name) is off now - Right Jimmy? (yes) Sorry sir youll have to come back tomorrow during the day." I lost my temper and said "Well I sure hope my car starts then! I literally have to put my car battery charger on my car about an hour before I go anywhere! The website said no appointments necessary I sure wish they would have said a specific time frame when that was applicable!" I angrily walked out. Fortunately my car did start! Unfortunately, my car started flashing low battery and died while I started driving in the parking lot. I had to turn it off and on a few times for it to finally work. I revved it up and turned off the all lights to make sure the battery could charge a second before merging into traffic. I was lucky that this battery failure did not happen at a stoplight! I would have gotten in a wreck! I cooled off that evening and decided to look up what time BPB opens in the morning. I was happy to see it opens at 8 AM so I could go in first thing and get my battery finally replaced! I came to the store right at 8:10 AM only to find that they dont install car batteries at 8 AM. "During the day" really means 10 AM- 6 PM! Finally, 10 AM rolled around and they swapped my battery out in under 5 minutes as I had imagined originally. The technician was polite and professional and did the job well. If I could roll back the clock and change their website to add a detail like "Car Battery installs only between 10 AM and 6 PM", I would have just have waited until 10 AM to visit BPB and this would have been a 5 star experience just as I had imagined. Instead, this has just been an HORRIBLE experience! 2 stars is generous!

DO NOT GO HERE to get your iphone screen repaired. I shattered my screen and brought it into the store because I heard they did it at an affordable price. So I bring the phone in, FULLY functional, and they replace the screen. After a couple days of use, the battery is only last 3-5 hours without any use at all. So I decide to bring the phone back to the store to have them look at it. They said they would. After about 45 minutes the guy tells me he cant get my screen to turn on and that he needs to hold it over night so that he can work on it longer. Ok...... I come back in the store the next day and he tells me that he no longer wants to try to repair the phone. He puts my old shattered screen back on. NONE of the middle portion of my phone registers to touch anymore. I open the phone up to see what is going on and the digitizer chip inside is broken in half. I try to bring this up with the employee and the store manager and they tell me that it must have happened when I initially dropped the phone???? Really?? They refuse to fix and/or replace the phone. Absolutely atrocious customer service. I do not recommend stepping foot in this store.

Absolutely LOVE this store. Ever since I moved to the area a few years ago and found this place they have been my go to. Any time I need either an odd battery or a light bulb, this is my first stop and they rarely disappoint. Everyone is always so friendly, its sort of refreshing to not go in and see the "why are you here bothering me" face you get at a lot of places. They also seem to take the time to know their customers and carry a sort of professional yet jovial attitude when helping you. You feel like they are actually happy youre there. Recently I broke my iPhone 5S and needed it fixed quickly as I was about to head out of town for vacation. I remembered seeing a sign the last time I was there that they fixed phones. I stopped in and showed them my device and told them my situation. The store manager got me all checked in and immediately started fixing my phone. About 20 minutes later he came out and said "OK here you go", I couldnt believe how quickly it was done. My phone looked like brand new and worked great! I make sure I tell everyone I know to try this place first when they are looking for something they may sell.

Until yesterday my rating was a 5 STAR.....BUT...For many years I have gone to Batteries Plus at Mayfield Hts...Andreas, Mark and several other employees have left but new ones have come in and this is where I encountered a HUGE CHANGE....Just yesterday when I went in for a garage door opener battery, the clerk opened the case and inserted the new battery for a price of $5.99 and wanted to charge me to install the battery...""WHAT? I have never been charged before!! That service should be included with a purchase of a battery""...........Of course when the clerk saw my shock and my remark that in all the years I have been coming to their store, I NEVER ONCE was told there was an installation charge, he said he would give a courtesy install this time. I need to know if this was a mistake on the clerks part or has Batteries Plus changed their customer service policy? If they have I might as well buy my batteries at the Dollar Tree...all batteries are $1.00.....if I have to put them in myself..
