There are numerous Janovic stores. Choose any of them besides this one. It is difficult to believe that one store could have so many rude staff members. I have been using Benjamin Moore for 17 years, having shopped in several states where I lived. I have never seen such arrogance. Worse, you get different advice about the paint everytime you ask a different staff member. It makes one wonder if they are properly trained. Or their conflicting advice may come from the fact that they simply do not want to be bothered by the customer, so they just say whatever comes to mind. In particular, you want to avoid the decorating staff. Gosh, one guy here acts like he was named "Top Interior Designer in the United States." (Hey, dude. You work in a paint store!) I highly recommend Benjamin Moore and Janovic. Just not this store. If you live on the UES and need Benjamin Moore, go to Janovics E. 66th and Lex Avenue store. Otherwise, it will be worth your time to go to any other Janovic store in Manhattan.

Cheryl, the woman that does color consultaion at this Janovic, is great to work with. I have brought a few projects to her and she has expertly helped with finding the colors I was looking for. She is quick, focused and easily adapts to whatever subtlties your project may entail... The projects I brought to her were somewhat unique, and without batting an eye she jumped right in and between the two of us managed to find exactly what I was looking for. As far as this Janovoc location goes, the sale staff as a whole have been very helpful and professional. I have found Janovoc stores in general to be easy to work with.

I went there yesterday to price paint and to see about delivery. The person behind the counter did not want to tell me the prices of their paint...he didnt even want to tell what my options were. Just awful and rude service. The delivery guy was not helpful at all...he did not want to roll $400 worth of paint in a cart 6 blocks and he had the nerve to ask for his tip upfront. If you do not want to deliver...dont advertise that you do. And if you do not want to sell...dont open shop. And if you hate your job don not work!

My experience with these folks has been very good. Some of them at least actually do want to help. They efficiently took a complicated paint order that our contractor had made using the sherwin williams color codes, and converted it perfectly to their own Benjamin Moore schematics. And recently when I was shopping for spray paints I received a simple tutorial on how best to use them to recolor my shelving unit.

i have ordered paint from Janovic a few times to try them out as a supplier over the last few months. Every time they attempt to make a delivery they never call the number of the super I give them. Today he just left $300 of paint in front of the building, with no signature and they couldnt be bothered to wait as I called to have the job super come and accept the delivery...

I have spent over $50,000 with Janovic and our last order we orderd a Phillip Jeffries wallcovering paper (terrible company) that is inpossible to install. They will not take paper back so now we have to take them to court.. Bad ! Take your buissnes elswhere

Good selection. Very sloppy, rude service. I was overcharged by $50 for painting supplies. When I returned to the store to dispute the charge, the clerk looked at me as if I had the Ebola virus and said: "Ill take your word for it."

Soo true about rude staff members, not their fault that corporate headquarters has gutted what was once a finely stocked painting store but their consistent unhelpful service makes me avoid when at all possible.
