Shopped at Home Depot three times. 2 out of the 3 times bad experience (they were both bad enough to warrant me calling into the store and speaking with a manager). This last one was bad. My house could have burned down. Very easily. Why? Because when I ordered my new stove; Home Depot provided me a new cord that was rated for less amps then my stove is rated. Didnt realize it then because I also paid Home Depot to install it. So four months into having my new stove, I smell burning plastic. Called Maytag and they sent someone out. My new range cord had failed. Huh, weird, didnt trip my breaker but whatever, Ill go get a replacement. Well being a trusting person I didnt look at my OTHER new cord they sent home with me (I didnt look at it because the APPLIANCE manager had grabbed it while I waited up front). Well, I get home, look at it a little closer and realize that 1. The plug is not the same as the one I had taken in with me (she gave me a Dryer cord) I dont know why. 2. Its rated for 30amp. Much below the recommendation if it would even fit. So now, Im shopping somewhere else and Im warning people. The only reason Im lucky is because I ordered a high quality stove that shut itself down when my cord started melting.

Terrible. I ordered a storm door at the beginning of October and paid to have the door installed. It took until the end of October and several phone calls to get the door measured so it could be ordered. I waited over a month and heard nothing and finally called and they said the door had come in. When I asked when it arrived they said they didnt know. They They said an installer would call me on Monday. No call. I called back on Monday. They said an installer would call. No call. Tuesday I called and two phone calls later I call a phone call from the installer saying that Home Depot had called the wrong installer. I now have the promise that the door will be installed on the 8th of December. Well see. Had I not called multiple times, clearly the door would be waiting at Home Depot with nobody doing anything about it. I would never use this service again at Home Depot.

They put an item on sale for Memorial Day weekend. I called on Monday to learn they were out of stock, but would get more on a truck on Tuesday. I call on Tuesday to learn that they would get more on a truck on Wednesday. I called on Wednesday to learn they would be back in stock Wednesday afternoon. I drove the 20 miles on Wednesday afternoon--none in stock and getting nothing on Wednesday. No, they would not give a rain check. Called on Thursday, multiple times, still not in stock. Called on Friday--now in stock and NOT ON SALE. Counted on my cell phone--8 phone calls over 5 days and a wasted trip. What a rip off.

When I came to the store and the gentleman at the front of the store took me to the windows section I was greeted by the men working there. They listened patiently while I described what I needed and when they did not find what they thought would help they called a screen place for me. I was walking out when yet another staff asked me what I was looking for, he directed me to someone at the front register and he said he knew they had what I needed so back to work dows and the guys looked again......voila.....we found a screen that was very close to what I was looking for

I never write bad reviews or complain but I am very angry. I bought a Full Swivel TV Mount earlier today from the Home Depot in Cedar Rapids on 1st Avenue. When I got home to hang it up, the packages inside were already ripped open, screws were missing and the screws that were in there were completely stripped. When I called to tell them the situation the guy was very rude and didnt apologize. once I return it I will not shop at Home Depot again.

I hadnt been to home depot in a few years until last week and wow was i shocked. As i walked thru the store i would guess i had 5-6 different people ask me if i needed help. Once i made to to the paint department i met with a gentleman that helped me find exactly what i needed and gave me some helpful advise on the job i was doing. I will def be back for my future needs they get 5 stars in my book!

I puchase a product online and they canceled the order because there was none but on there website there was. They charged me so I called them and it took me about 15 minutes to get an answer to which I wanted credit back in my account. They said it would take three days to credit it back to me. But however it was credit back to me that same day.

After dealing with the guy in the tool rental at the First Ave store I can say Ill never buy anything from Home Depot again. He was rude, arrogant and didnt really seem interested in helping me. I used to get my Milwaukee tools there but I will find another place to shop. Even the people I was with asked, "whats that guys problem."

Morgan and Joe in the flooring department are by far the best people we dealt with when we remodeled our home. They are by far the most knowledgeable out of all the home improvement stores we went to not to mention they actually care about how your home turns out. Thank you for your great service to our family and our new home!

Ordered carpet from them and paid over $1400 and they were not heard from for over 2 months. Found out that they had the carpet for over a month and "forgot" to contact me, spent a week trying to get them to set a date to install and the management was very rude and uncaring through this whole process. Not buying from them again.

My visit to the store was a mixed bag. I was in the paint department and Sharon was helpful. I went to the main checkout and there was not one lane that had a clerk. Had I not wanted the paint etc. I would have walked out with out spending a dime. As it was I was able to find Jerry beyond the cashiers and he helped me.

Selection was great, service was awful. 3 out of 3 visits to this store, only self check out was available and all 3 times I had an issue that required an attendant to be called. Once an attendant was paged, several employees walked directly past me before I finally flagged one down for assistance. Very frustrating.

Ive been there twice walked through the whole store both times not one person said hi or asked if I needed help. I stood in paint for over 30 min trying to find a color while to associates stood there talking and didnt even ask if I needed help. Waste of time. Im sticking to the small local hardware stores.

Good Folks up at this Home Depot. Easy place to get in and out of if youre doing in-store pickup for online orders. The entry and exit to the parking lot is a little bit weird as theres a couple of one way thoroughfares going into the contractor pickup area, but otherwise its a pretty standard Home Depot.
