I was sold two PlayStation one controllers and was told they would work "just the same" as Dual shock 2 (PlayStation 2) controllers. However, after getting home I discovered that some games for the PlayStation 2 require a dual shock 2 controller, as I tried to explain to the manager of Hollywood Movies and Games just a couple hours after purchasing these controllers. I was told that the PlayStation one controllers would work "just the same" as PlayStation 2 controllers. However, that is not the case, as a number of games will not recognize the dual shock 1 controller. The game tested by Glen was not a game requiring dual shock 2, so obviously it worked in that case. I was offered an off-brand controller, which I did not want and was not what I originally paid for. The owner refused a refund of my $20, even though the product I paid for I was incorrectly informed about. I later took the controllers to Buy Back, where they told me I was correct about the situation, and also there were prongs missing in the controller ends. Although the controllers work on the home screen of the ps2, they will not register with a number of games. They do not work "just the same" as dual shock 2 controllers. Whether intentionally or unintentionally, deception was used in the selling of these products, and in my opinion, the lack of business ethics in this situation should have been grounds to void the policy, that was not verbally given prior to purchase, and qualify my case for a refund, which would have resulted in my family and I continuing doing business with this establishment. My parents called the store to discuss the situation, but were placed on hold for 11 minutes. My father mentioned hiring an attorney to look into the situation if a refund would not be given, and in response the owner hung up and later made the claims that my father was making "threats" to the store. I am not the only person who has had problems with Hollywood, and I dont want to see anyone else get taken advantage of by this place, which is why I decided to share my experience. Buyers Beware!

I must say that I was very pleasantly surprised with this store, I had on occasion shopped and sold items in the past to Buy Backs and had a very sour taste with this style of store. We stopped as their marketing department had reached out to us promising better pay outs for items sold, skeptical my daughters and I stopped in last night. My first impression was the Manager greeting me and telling me their specials, you could tell he loved working there and it showed. I explained that I had items to sell, when I told him it was 157 DVDs and Blu Rays he offered to help me bring them into the store. He explained that he would make a offer but I was under no obligation to sell if the offer was less then I wanted. What I didnt tell him was I had taken them to Buy Backs just days before, the other store seemed put off that I had that many to sell at one time and there was no offer to help me bring them into their store. When Brice finished looking at my movies and had them in the system he offered me $265.00 dollars and I was shocked. Buy Backs offered me $87.50. When I explained that I had taken them to Buy Backs and had such a low offer he smiled, get this he was the general manager there before working here and did not find that hard to believe. This will be my store going forward and I will be back time after time, we have our eye on the MMW Xbox 360 that they have. Thanks Hollywood we LOVE you

Great selection of games. As a collector in Kentuckiana, it is refreshing to see a place like this on this side of the river. That being said, I am puzzled as to how some prices are calculated. Some are right in line with current market value while others are priced well above what they should be. KOTOR 2 for example, although in phenomenal condition, was over double what the current acceptable price is online or not. Other titles are priced as if they are CIB (complete in box i.e. in original case w/ at least the manual) but are not. An example would be the copy I saw of Voodo Vince for the Xbox. Maybe this is more of a collectors concern, but I do wonder how the price point of the titles are decided upon. I just hope in the future that the condition of the overall product(original case, manual, disc) is taken into account because for a collector like myself, I cant pay full CIB price for something that is 1/3 of what Im looking for. My criticism aside, I am very happy that this business is in our area. These old games deserve to still have some time in the sun and this business allows locals to be able to have that chance. It is very clean and organized. Way, way more organized than other retro shops Ive been to. Thanks for being in the area and I hope to be in again soon.

BE CAREFUL. This place is incredibly overpriced. I think I saw some Sonic and Knuckles cartridges for 45 dollars here, they are worth maybe 9 dollars. They do not budge on pricing, my friend and I both asked (because the prices were crazy). Almost everything Ive seen is jacked up beyond belief, with few fair prices. I understand its a business, but with these prices this store will not survive and some of the prices border on scam artistry, maybe on the hope someone wont check their phone for reasonable prices. Its neat to have this kind of store in Indiana, but they are definitely cheating people on prices, and charging way more than what Ebay does. I dont know how people are saying they have reasonably priced games, these people are either out of touch or do not check other outlets. Those are the people they make their cash from, I guess. There were other games worth small amounts of cash and then marked up to incredibly high prices in their Gamecube/PS2/Xbox sections, as well. Some of the prices were jaw dropping. I cant help but believe this is deliberate, because they WILL hook older people or clueless people with this.

I must say that Im Very pleased with how Hollywood treats me and my family every time we walk through their doors, we shop around for the best bargains as anyone should in this day and time. I have found them to be honest, fair and above all else ethical. I can not say this about Buy Backs, I read reviews on a business before shopping there. I read the on from Kevin Scarbrough, I was shocked when I walked into Buy Backs and found him working there. I only went there as Hollywood did not have a movie I needed for a gift, they called around looking for the movie for me and finally Buy Backs had it. They assured me that Buy Backs would take care of me, I must say after seeing the unethical way they do business I walked out without the movie. I went back to Hollywood and shared my discovery, the owner asked if I could give him 45 minutes to get the movie. What I learned a few days later was he went to Wal-Mart and purchased it and sold it to me for much less then he paid. If you dont believe what your reading call Buy Backs and ask for Kevin.
