I have been a regular customer at this Wholefoods since I moved to Jacksonville 4 years ago shopping here a couple times a week, and I continued to shop here despite the numerous piss poor experiences Ive had here, but at this time I cant tolerate it anymore - from the other google reviews it seems that I am not the only one who feels this way. Pros: They have a decent selection They have wine tasting around the holidays. Cons: They have Worst customer service I have ever experienced . It is a Very unpleasant place to shop. The staff always has a bad attitude and are very unprofessional; snooty and arrogant would be an accurate way to describe It. Weve even heard the employees and managers gossiping and bad mouthing regular customers (the staff seems famine with them) as they come in the door or as theyre leaving. This is unacceptable. No matter what time of day youre shopping there, the staff is very cold and it seems like youre inconveniencing them and that theyd prefer that you just leave. They also habitually lock up early and put away / cover produce 20 minutes before they officially close. - - hours of operation are operation, not close up when you feel like it because you have better things to do that your job. They announce the time every five minutes between 8:45 - 9:00. This is beyond obnoxious. One announcement at 9 is sufficient. I am considerate of their hours, I know the employees want to go home, and I will be out the door before 9, but I dont want to be pestered about the time while I shop! At this time, the previously non-existent employees suddenly come out of the woodworks to see if youre finding everything okay (This is usually asked with some snarky sarcastic tone) which is code for, hurry the f up and get out of the store. This is made even more evident by the many employees who grumble about the time they have remaining in their shift and how they cant wait to leave (Im usually thinking, me too -- I hate this place). We also frequently have to return items after discovering that they have been expired for MONTHS! I just recently returned a jar of peanut butter that had been expired for a year… of course the guy working at the returns counter smugly said "youve had this for quite awhile, huh?" Even though I returned it with the reciept showing I had just purchased it the day before. The people working their have some nerve... Summary: I sincerely hope that Wholefoods improves in these areas, since I do like their selection and would shop here again if the customer service was up to par and matched the premium price they charge. Until then, I have had enough of this place and I will be taking my business elsewhere. There are plenty of better options out their that actually appreciate their customers...like Publix and Native Sun to name a couple (between the two, you can find the same selection).

did not get to review my second comment one from west palm beach in december 2009 and now today 4/8/2010. our review I shop at Wellington, palm beach and Boca Raton Florida Whole Foods - - 2010-04-08 Well I live in Jax now thought I would try whole foods once again, I purchased $60.00 worth of food. Bad food took back. Added total on receipt told to come back since I wrote a check, credit was not added up correctly, I called back and said you forgot 12.00 of the bill the associate mngr said he would write it down and they will remember what they owe us in 10 days. Just shopped and purchased these items yesterday. They do not take pride in customer service, Publix does and that is where I am planning to shop from now on. Whole foods does not even know the corporate office phone number. Given the wrong number and I called back was told to look on line. Quality expectations should be high due to prices and organic food lines. Thats why I shopped in Palm beach county versus ever going to publix or other stores, I never had a thing to complain about wellington, palm beach and boca raton was exceptional stores why can I not expect the same from this store?????? I am moving up to Jacksonville in 3 weeks to be with my family. I shopped only at Whole Foods in Jacksonville for the four weeks I was looking for a job, for a family of five. Please take the gouda cheese out of the entrance, needs a better fish display, the buffet no matter what time of the day is empty and some food products were dry when I ate it. My dinner was 10.75 and my husbands 8.99. My son loves the place because he has never been in another one to compare. No turkey legs I am so disappointed. I will speak to the manager when I live in St. Johns area the beginning of February......signed no comparison to the Whole Foods in the Palm Beach area also I will shop at Whole Foods when I move but I will constantly complain to the Manager of the store and departments while I am there. Until it is up to par in comparison to the other stores. Yes the produce area is a poor selection. Edit - Delete

Hey D. Woods again! I had a chance to visit this Whole Foods in Jacksonville and it was pretty similar to other locations that I have been to, so my review will be a Whole Foods Vs Whole Foods type review. Now for the most part you are going to get the same types of products and price points for their merchandise here as you would anywhere else (unless you are that in-tune with their prices that you notice a $.05 different in Graham Crackers) , but the people are never the same and this location is still trying to establish an identity and store culture. The VALUE here was decent, but their prepared hot food section was very small and less appetizing than expected. You won’t get maximum variety here and if you are looking for say a burger, the process of finding someone who can help was pretty entertaining (It literally took 3 people and 7 conversations for me to order one and pay), but everyone was nice about helping me so it was cool! From a CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE perspective nothing truly stood out other than their willingness to work through the confusion of cooking a burger. As I mentioned the staff wasn’t completely gelling yet which may contribute to other bad experiences patrons have had in the past and that will take time to correct with the right in store leadership. There was an in-store VitaMix demonstration going on which was neat and the cashiers were courteous enough to grab a few bags of ice for our meat goods. I would still RECOMMEND this location because at the end of the day it is a Whole Foods and people who shop here are pretty loyal to the brand. Just be prepared to be a little underwhelmed if you have visited other Whole Foods locations in the southern region.

Love the store. I love that its so big and they have a good variety on their products. The food bar is good even its a bit pricey but since its organic Its worth the money. The ground floor people are nice and helpful. But there are Two cashiers. Who seem friendly at first but was really dismissive it kind of irritated me lol. When I paid for some of my items (which this part would be annoying for anyone whos used a visa for 10+ yrs) I used my debit card and since I look young for my age I guess she assumed I was clueless and was showing me how to use my card and how to use the machine. Not that she was trying to help but just the way she did it made me feel like I was stupid lol. I just let it go. She gives me my receipt and says like in this kinda rude and real dismissive tone, "Ok were done. Have a nice day." And turns away quickly and Im standing there like, "What the heck?" A little baffled at this sudden change of attitude. The next girl also seemed friendly then nearly shove the change in my hand, and also was real dismissive. Says, "Have a nice day." And turns her head, "Be gone now. " She didnt actually say those words but I felt like she was thinking it lol. Idk what I did and maybe its just me but I just didnt feel any kindness or sincerity. But other than that Whole Foods is awesome.
