Since its small business Saturday I had to write about my experiences at ProCycling. This is a shop that lives, eats, breaths, sleeps, and supports cycling. They have in my opinion two of the top bike mechanics in town. Their customer support staff is top notch, knowledgeable and go out of their way to take care of me every time I go there. Just the atmosphere of the shop is electrifying. It’s always such a positive experience. On top of that ProCycling totally supports the cycling community of Colorado Springs. Their sponsorship of the Cheyenne Mountain High School Mountain Bike Team, Women’s cycling clubs and team, Pike’s Peak Velo, and their own shop team are obvious examples. What people don’t see is their community support behind the scenes. ProCycling is a big advocate of trail work and requires non-profit volunteer work from its sponsored riders. ProCycling’s owner, Bruce McGrew, was huge in organizing fund raisers and raising money to help the city purchase a large portion of Ute Valley and save it from being sold for “development”. Along with that ProCycling is a big supporter of “Kids on Bikes” consistently donating bikes, money, and time to their great cause. Great products, expertise, customer service, mechanics, community service, and an awesome atmosphere. What more could you ask. I give them 5 stars and my business.

I really want to love this shop, great group of guys and close to home. BUT... today was the second time Ive walked out with parts in hand, after leaving my bike for service. First time was a fork issue, I totally screwed up my fork, made an appointment, took it in, a couple days later, no call so I check on it, they didnt get to it and didnt know when exactly they would. Went to another local shop, they solved the problem. Recently got a new wheelset, went in to get parts and pieces ordered to make the transition smoother, waited for the parts and made an appointment. Get the call around 11 that they had ordered the wrong spokes, but no worries my old ones would work fine, great!! saves me a bunch of money. Get the call at 330 saying spokes wont work. While picking my bike up, I asked why I was told my spokes worked and then they didnt, he said "it was a PR" thing. How in the hell is that a PR thing. Took it to another local shop, problem solved. Anyway, not sure if you get better attention when you buy the fancy stuff, but be prepared to have smoke blown up your rear in the service department. This place has been a huge waste of my time, especially considering theyre only open from 10-6, pretty much have to skip some work to get in there.

Im visiting the area and early Saturday morning, my bikes Sram DB5s completely locked up solid on me. I made a few phone calls and found this shop. Theyre aware of the Sram brakes issues with the piston/bore issue that Sram refuses to acknowledge. Since a warranty would take way too long, leaving me without a bike for five days on a trip where I brought my bike, this wont do. New brakes it is... I called the shop at 9:56am (They open at 10am) and not only did they have Shimano XT brakes in stock, they offered to put them on while I waited. The tech treated my bike with respect while it was on the stand. He was careful to trim the brake lines down to a good length and bled the brakes. After some adjustments he burnished the pads in for me. I walked out of the store just after 11am. Their prices are inline with other stores in the area. Yes, the brakes can be had much cheaper online. Yes, Im capable of doing this job myself. However, Im away from home and without my tools and these guys made me a priority after I explained my situation. They took care of me and my bike. They were professional and very experienced. You cannot put a price on customer service and expertise. Thank you ProCycling for allowing me to continue me MTB trip.

I am new to town and I have trust issues with people I am unsure of touching my bike. In the last three months I have been to three different shops in town with break issues on my mountain bike. ProCycling was able to properly fix it and they did the most thorough evaluation. They fixed the issue in no time! I was a drop in too as my breaks failed while my friends from out of town were visiting and they fixed it on the spot for me so I could still get my ride in. This week I left my bike with them for an overhaul and I just picked it up this morning and took it for a spin. I bought my bike gently used about 5 years ago. It has always been a great ride, its a YETI ASR5. Great bike, but a 2011; so becoming a little out dated. I can honestly say it has never ridden as good as it did today. I am thrilled with the work they did and I am happy that I found a shop in town that I can trust to work on my bikes. Great customer service too! The guy that rung me up even checked the weather for me!

I have to echo the sentiments of several other reviewers on here regarding the service. Im just getting into mountain biking and was looking to get advice in terms of the best bike to get as a beginner/make a purchase. So, I walked in on a Thursday afternoon and there were about two people in the store and about 7 employees present. I walked around for a bit waiting for someone to get done chatting with their respective coworkers and after twenty minutes of perusal without even a "hello" or "hey, welcome to the sweetest bike shop in town, bro!" I decided to leave. I dont think anyone even noticed that I was there. Id say this would be the place to go for parts or if you already know what you want. I would give one star were it not for the selection. I could be biased having just moved here from Japan where the customer service is unparalleled, but I think that this is bad, even for the States.

Great LBS. Ive bounced around to various shops over the years mainly out of convenience, but I keep coming back to Pro Cycling. Primarily because the staff is friendly and they just do good wrench work. I mainly purchase components and use the service department. They always show me how to wrench something if I ask. Some days Im lucky and get smaller jobs on a same day turnaround. Even scored a few brake bleeds on the fly. They stock lots of random parts (think internals, O-rings and stuff that goes into your suspension/seat-dropper/brakes), and if they dont have it they can get it quick; which equals faster turnaround. Call in for service scheduling if your worried about getting your bike back in time for a ride/race, and yes weekends are busy. They have some pretty sick new bikes too; MTB and Road. Get your bikes dialed and shred!

I have been here twice now. the first time I was there, it was like pulling teeth trying to get an employee to answer a couple questions and help me pick out a bike. Today I walked into their store after saving the cash to buy my new Orbea Orca, shoes, and pedals, ready to spend thousands of dollars. When I walked through the door there was a girl and older guy standing at the counter. The girl looked up at me and looked back down, so I went back to look for the bike I had been saving for. After being ignored by all three employees for ten minutes I walked out. I am driving 50 miles to another Orbea dealer in Denver this afternoon to buy my new bike. These people treat their customers like the ground they walk on.
