The instruction was good, however the problem i had with this company was their dishonesty. My mom called and talked to Kellen about pricing. She was quoted $370 for the whole lesson package. Went through the cable course for 2 hours which was $170. The next day i spent about 3 hours on kiteboarding lessons and when my mom asked the price she was told $450. This was Kellens attempt to overcharge, but my mom said she thought it was less and quickly he acted like he made an honest mistake and lowered the price to $300 (100/hr). My mom called the next day and complained about being overcharged and was told she was charged the private lesson rate. We were quoted the group rate on the phone and its not our fault the others didnt show up for the group lesson. There was no refund issued.

So, I showed up at Roys facility right at 2:00p.m., the time of day when Roy typically heads out to deliver equipment and instruction. I was lucky to catch him and although he was in a rush, he took the time to gather the windsurfing equipment I needed and load it into my small rental car. When I reached the beach, a short drive from the shop, it was quick work to assemble the rig; except for one small detail. I called Roy for some advice, but by the time he headed over to my location, I had already resolved the problem. In the end, the experience was great and I would recommend Ace Performer to anyone seeking a water sport adventure! Happy surfing......Rick (Scottsdale, AZ)

As a 60-something woman who has not windsurfed in the last 15 years, I was hesitant to take it up again, but Roy takes his all his students seriously and provided excellent lessons, let me try different boards within a 3-day span: both stand-up paddle and windsurf, and then helped me choose the perfect board to buy for myself. It arrived today and is super. I paddled for hours on both Sanibel and San Carlos bay, and I can add a sail when I want.

I bought a paddleboard from Roy a year ago and have thoroughly enjoyed that, but also wanted to learn how to windsurf. Roy taught my daughter and I and we had a blast. Roy was an excellent instructor, we tried different boards and sails, and loved every minute of it. We were gliding across the water within 15 minutes of climbing on the board and learning how to use the sail.

Ace is the place for rentals of SUPs, windsurfing gear, and kayaks! I bought an ocean kayak from Ace because he allowed us to demo several models and then deducted the rental fee from the price of the kayak. Nice owner, nice shop, and highly recommended!!

Roy has good equipment, he helped me load it up quickly, recommended great locations for given wind conditions, and included a strap-on roof-rack. Overall great service and excellent windsurfing by the causeway!
