The reason this is not a two-star rating is because their customer service merits five stars+. They always exhibit a customer-centered attitude. You can tell they value their customers. Unfortunately, the quality of their work deserves about 2.5 stars. After a tune-up, I began to notice things that necessitated repeated trips back for adjustments that really did not resolve the issues, from simple things like brake pads rubbing on the wheel to slightly more complicated, like gear-shifting. I dont know if its normal to have to bring your bike in a third time after a tune-up, but Im done. Additionally, I would suggest that they do not use the word like parts "cleaned" as part of the tune-up, because they looked just as grimy as before. I asked why and they said they wipe it down with a solvent. You could have fooled me. Maybe they wiped it once?

The best family/commuter shop in Davis. I have bought numerous bikes here for myself, my children, and even my grandchildren over the years, and I have always been treated well by the family that owns the store. Keep in mind its is not a huge shop, but I usually find what Im looking for, and the prices are reasonable. Their service department is the only place I trust for my nice bike. Definitively worth your time to give them a chance.

I have raised my family on bikes bought and repaired at Freewheeler. Ive also used most of the other stores in Davis but always come back. They do the job right, for a fair price, with courtesy. Once I had a problem with my handmade tandem and they told me they could not fix it, unlike another shop that tried and made it worse. I consider that the mark of a craftsman.

headset wasnt properly installed, the compression ring and bearing were supposed to be installed using compression tool, but those two parts were dumped somewhere in my frame. extremely disappointing and unprofessional
